I just watched it and the whole time I thought the twist was going to be that Denzel was the killer. I thought in the first scene with Denzel, he was trying to remove evidence second, the suspect from the previous case that killed himself due to a name drop that Denzel mentioned over the phone ( that seemed odd), etc........ And almost thought Denzel's character was egging on Malik's character by constantly repeating the line ".. it's the little things," as if to say you keep missing me.... Anywhooooo, not the movie I thought it was going to be, a little disappointed especially since I stayed up until 4pm in NYC to watch it.

Honestly, I think Jared Leto's acting range is very limited. I really dont care if he won an award for DBC. He's always this character who stares at something for too long with his big hollow eyes, moves very slow, methodical, floaty, tries to be all mysterious etc. It always seem like he thinks hes better at at acting than he actually is, thats why he always overplays his role, which is a common mistake among amateur actors.

Spoiler guys: at minute 3 and 40 seconds of the movie you can see the killer is Jimmy...his "strong face" gives him away, even with a hat, glasses and a goatee, It's him. Here's way: His ego. Jimmy killed so he could solve his own case and become a "Big Shot"hero detective. He was using, and working with, Sparma to set him up as the killer he always fantasized being. Jimmy also played Deacon and took advantage of him, setting these murders up to look like the ones that destroyed his career knowing he would get too involved and also finger Sparma as the killer. However, the plan went a little sideways during the interrogation when Sparma started to enjoy messing with Deacon, he didn't confess to the killings during the interrogation as Jimmy had instructed him to. Sparma starts having second thoughts about taking the fall. He knew the clock was running out on Jimmy before the FBI took over, That's way he wasted an entire day ridding the bus and hanging out at the strip club, and then later having him dig holes. Once Jimmy realizes Sparma is not going play the part he has no choice but to kill him. This answers one of your questions: "why would they meet for a drink at a bar after an Interrogation if they were a detective and murder suspect?" yeah, that's not normal...."the little thing" would tell you they already know each other and have been meeting all along. Most of "the little things" of guilt are found in Jimmy's facial expressions, watch the movie again and pay attention to how his expressions respond to things. The dialog is also very important, it helps to turn on CC.

This film does reveal who the real killer was, I'm surprised that no one figured it out. The real killer is Sergeant Rogers. I froze framed the film in the beginning and the killer was a short white man with short hair and no facial hair. So that eliminates Denzel and Leto. I looked at the license plate that the killer was driving in the beginning when he was going after the witness and it read 2FAN321. As Denzel was driving into the precinct in which he used to work at there was a little Mercedes in a corner spot with a license plate which read (Any Guesses Here) 2FAN321. Rogers was just promoted, so he could afford that car being second in command at the precinct. Denzel quipped that Rogers loved money, he padded his overtimes. So he would be the type to drive a flashy car and take advantage of a perk, by parking his car in a corner spot. Furthermore, Rogers wanted Sparma to be the fall guy, so he he didn't file Sparma's stolen car report. Why would a killer risk possibly incriminating himself. Rogers thought that that certainly pointed away from Sparma as being the killer. So, he framed him by neglecting to file Leto's stolen car report. Also, the jogger was a mere three blocks from her home, how could Leto have chased her down? It had to be a cop, who stoped to talk to her and abducted her. That is why it was shown that Sparks had a noticeable limp. Now Rogers will just change his M.O., as like Detroit, Los Angeles is a big city too.
@hotroddevils5031
@hotroddevils5031 3 года назад
@@igorfreytor1 ...as for the license plate...2FAN321 and 2GAT123 are on more than 4 different cars each throughout the movie, and the first plate was blue the others are white. Those plates are fictional license plate numbers used in most television shows and movies(easy to look up). Plus that Mercedes was parked in a "Forensic Lab Tech" parking spot, not a Detective spot. The 2FAN321 is also on a Corvette at the police station and on a different Mercedes parked outside Sparma's house. The original Blue car with 2FAN321 can be seen across the street from Sparma's house when they go to arrest him the first time. They use the same cars over and over again because its set in the 90's. There's a grey Mercury (looks like a Mustang) outside the VIP Club when he leaves to take the bus home, the same car is parked in front of his house when he gets home.
@igorfreytor1
@igorfreytor1 3 года назад
That's ridiculous. In California, you also can't use an I, O or a Q in the second or fourth spot of a license plate. That's more than a thousand combinations. Why use that number 4 times. Its a plot hole, making the film dumb. There is only one license plate number per state.

Instead of focusing on an actor's facial structure, talk about their performance. Rami is a very good actor and won an oscar for his performance as Freddie Mercury.
