As viewer Marc mentions, 180 lbs is not 60 kg, it's about 80 kg. My mistake. The point about the toxins is still mathematically valid since the lowest toxin liver for sperm quality concern was still too much at 285 lbs. I blame the US for not using the metric system 😜
I work in healthcare in Pennsylvania. I have to convert lbs to kg every day. So it was an easy find for me. Plus, I like to keep my weight under 80kg. US healthcare mostly uses metric, but height and weight are usually measured in feet, inches and lbs, because that is what the consumer understands. It's pretty messed up here. Bottom line, don't eat liver. It's not just gross, but also not good for you. Also, be careful to avoid too much Vitamin A supplements.
@Ck Infinity autism isn’t a disease, what the hell. I’m glad you feel better whatever that entails, but you have made a massive motte and bailey. Most people use keto to primarily lose weight, but your comment implies the only reason is “for the chance to get rid of your disease completely”. One is a fad diet and the other is a treatment strategy. It doesn’t mean the treatment strategy is entirely healthy either, but at least then there’s some benefits to be discussed.
No disrespect to anyone who makes this choice, but he's definitely not natural, not even slightly. He denies it maybe for legal reasons. But the idea that his physique owes itself to his diet is crazy and really dangerous

One thing I notice about all these big muscle-y meat men (Rogan, Sean Baker, Liver King) is how red they always look? They always look like all of their blood is about to explode out of their body.

Liver has IRON, which is essential for producing hemoglobin, a protein in blood cells that carries oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body, and myoglobin, a protein that provides oxygen to muscles. Your body also needs iron to make some hormones. People who aren't vegan - and therefore don't have developing or full blown anemia - would know this. Also, post a link to a current photo of you. 50 years ago I did love liver, liver and onions, chicken livers with water chestnuts, wrapped in bacon. Ten years later I became vegetarian, now I’ve been vegan for 5 years. I just wanna say, the liver, among other functions, is a filter organ- just imagine the funky stuff you might be ingesting from industrially born and bred cattle.
It would have to be some really top notch stuff for me to try it raw. Store brought liver must be cooked though no way that you should consume that raw.
@ Rita Eagle the issue with liver is not whether you eat it the issue is where is it sourced and how much of it do you consume. That’s the biggest problem in the vegan community is that proponents of veganism never differentiate between organic, pasture raised non gmo meat and regular conventional meat that is filled with hormones, antibiotics, glyphosate and gmo’s. They refuse to point out that all human civilizations are animal protein in moderation and to this day the longest living people eat a little bit of animal protein event week

i have calculated that the max amount of liver one can eat without developing vitamin A overload is just 38g of (cooked) liver, or 32g according to Cronometer. But since dietary vitamin A accumulates in ur own liver, it wouldn't be safe to eat even just 32g of liver every day. If you wanna meet the RDA of vitamin A from just liver (and no other food sources), you would have to eat just about 10g of liver per day (or about 20g of liver every other day i guess, and so on). But now that I think about it, if vitamin A accumulates in the liver depending on how much of it is eaten, I guess cow liver doesn't always have the same amount of vitamin A cuz it depends on the cow's diet, so idk.
I've asked quite a few carnivore diet advocates if they'd bring up their children on just meat. Not one has said yes. 99% of the time they avoid answering the question altogether.

Of course. I mean what this video says.👍 good video as always. Also, some very interesting liver related trivia: suddenly vultures started getting scarce, in danger of extinction, maybe twenty years ago. Studies revealed that the very common drug diclofenac, used as a pain reliever in humans and very extensively for farm animals, was lethal to vultures. As usual resistance to this new idea by farmers. One particular species of vulture was particularly vulnerable, many dying of this poison. Then it was found that this species is a sort of apex species: it lords over other types, and when an animal carcass is spotted other vultures make way for this dominant species. Now the interesting part: the most nutrient rich and desired part of the carcass is the liver, and getting first feeding rights these vultures make a beeline for it. But the liver is also where the toxins are stored, in the highest concentration, including residual diclofenac. So this species was dying off faster. I saw this in a video on the subject long ago. At long last diclofenac was banned for veterinary use but the ban being followed well or enforced we can only hope for. Well I hope people found this interesting as I did when I learnt of it.

I used to love chicken livers. Now (over 2 years vegan) I feel more ashamed of that than necessarily makes sense. I mean, it's not really different, ethically, from eating a hamburger. I think it's because I always had to bypass my natural disgust while I was chopping up the livers. Also, I had to chop up the livers of a lot of different chickens at once. I totally believed I was doing that because it was essential to my health, though. (I believed I needed the iron and was convinced it was especially nourishing to my body.) Given my beliefs at the time, it was justifiable, but as I said, I now feel this sense of shame about it. I suppose at least partly because I was so taken in by such false beliefs.

If even Joe Rogan is calling him this why bother to make a video debunking his claims? He just spouts nonsense, I couldn't get through half of the video because it's so outrageous.
I have a really interesting topic for you!! I don’t know if it’s true or bunk 😂 plant chomps actually covered this issue of iron overload and it seems legit, and I have heard that anemia in women is actually a low copper issue and low retinol issue and not a true “low iron” issue because it’s a transport and utilization problem and I’m like genuinely very interested in this lol; What they claim is that women’s iron recycling system is much more efficient than men’s, especially when we are pregnant, and we are actually often iron *overloaded* due to things like enrichment of food and that it’s hard for the body to rid itself of excess iron, and that low retinol and copper causes the iron to get “stuck” in soft tissues and not utilized properly and therefore blood tests look like low iron, and that the fatigue that comes from “anemia” is because they have low ACCESSIBLE iron. Also that our period helps with an “iron detox” and donating blood is also a good thing. I’m genuinely curious if this is true, and if it is true, is beta carotene fine to get the system working vs retinol? A lot of the people that subscribe to this theory claim it HAS to be retinol and not beta carotene 🙄 I’m sure beta carotene could do the job because it becomes vitamin a but 🙄 I would LOVE to hear about this topic since it’s really kind of a different topic!
Well its more about red blood cell regen after losing it in a menstrual cycle. Too many women lose too much iron/blood cells. getting more iron won't fix the issue
Plant Chompers' video is very good and kind of scary. Annyoing that it's not at all as simple as just eat some iron supplements of any kind and you're safe.
You don't even need to debunk this guy. Who wants to eat raw liver except to just try what it's like? Edit to add: I don't even believe this guy is consistenly eating what he claims to be eating. It's social media, after all. Who's to sey he's not just doing this for the views and to sell his supplements. At the end of the day he comes home to his wife and eats potatoes, cooked meats and veggies.
As a WFPBV it's probably obvious that I would agree with your debunking video Mic. But I did notice you mentioned your weight of 180lbs/60kg. Truthfully, 180lbs never was equal to 60kg. It is closer to 82kg. (Unless you are 60kg, which is more like 132lbs.) So, at 82kg, you could actually consume 23pg of toxic equivalent units of liver each day. Ewwwwww, grooooosssss!
Thanks for the correction!! I was shuffling a lot numbers and only have one set of eyes on this. The final, most important point that a 285 lb person couldn't even eat the lowest level liver still stands. Thanks!
Just a point that you got to at the end about the general environmental and ecological impact of meat consumption vs veganism. Have you done long form content on this question? I heard the data was far more mixed than was immediately clear. While large scale animal production is quite disruptive to the habitat, it's no more so than large scale industrial agriculture which kills it's own fair share of animals and eviscerates nearby areas with runoff.
The only correlation that people need to wake up to, is when consuming anothers flesh, they are also consuming all the hormones (stress & sex) and sickness these creatures endured. Thanks Mic for this. The entire obsession humans have with eating loads of animal proteins is fascinating. It is the opposite of a compassionate ethical vegan dietary choice which considers the life of animals to be sacred. Humans are not lions, and we lack the claws and fangs to kill, short intestines, ability to detoxify vitamin A, and make our own vitamin C. We need fiber. Hypermasculinity seems to be a driving force as many of these males love to pose with their shirts off, and I wonder if these humans are trying to make up for deep feelings of insecurity, etcetera by hyping up the supposed virility and power of eating the defenseless dead. It reminds me of the trophy hunters who smile as they pose with the head and dead body of those innocent animals they murder with high powered rifles. The animals have no chance and this is such an unfair contest. Realistically, humans killing gentle defenseless animals to eat them is not masculine, its' cruel and inhumane. Its' also strange that any males would consume so many animals hormones, including estrogens.
Dr. Paul Saladino has a more convincing physique for someone who is a serious meat eater. Great video! I love the jokes lol. Take what these “influencers” say and do on SM with a grain of salt! this is not actually the case; just about 2-3% of the fat in the liver is saturated. I don't think you are sufficiently educated to comment on this issue.
That has a lot to do with genetics. There’s people who eat tons of saturated fat and cholesterol and never have any issues, but if you combine it with a high carb/sugar diet then you are asking for inflammation.
@@mauriciomendoza7128 the blood lipids are a canary in the coalmine so to speak. It's more like genetically some people show the signs of heart disease more readily than others, it doesn't make such people more resilient. Much of that inflammation comes from TMAO formation which is caused largely in part by consumption of saturated fat and carnitine which help dysbiotic gut bacteria flourish and produce inflammatory wastes including TMA, the precursor. This is caused largely by one type of food, and it's not plants.
