I think we can all agree these were Disney’s golden years.. Being a kid growing up in the 80’s, this vid represents some of my fondest childhood memories.. Disney Magic was a very real thing back then.. How I miss it so!
Michael A I absolutely loathe the Imagination ride now. It used to be one of those things that sparked my imagination as a kid. Now its a fragment of its former self and feels like a bunch of high schoolers built it. So sad... Kids will never know who the Dreamfinder is.
Back from a time where the Epcot rides were perfect the first time. It is so sad how all of those attractions from long ago have been removed or changed. Replaced with something less thoughtful or just bad. That voice...wow! it rained,..and it rained. and rained... epic. The Disney people really had the right stuff back then. Amazing story lines as this one was common place! Everything flows so seamlessly. I love it. Thank you for sharing this.
EPCOT was cool because it was supposed to be am "Amusement Park of Science" Like the coolest museum you could actually play on and in and it had rides. God I miss this version of EPCOT.
This was back in the days when Disney treated their guests like they functioning adults. Now everything is dumbed down. Epcot was suppose to be the one park with no Disney mascots for rides. Now they almost all are.
Thanks for posting the vid.Epcot isn't what it used to be. seems to be less about learning and knowledge and more about rides and getting drunk by drinking around the world showcase.
This is fantastic to be able to view and experience this show again. I've been to Epcot the whole time it has been open. My Father retired from WDW and my brother did as well, now my husband now works there. To see this video again with this woman's voice as the narrator is wonderful. I've laid in bed at night trying to remember some of the words as she said them. Thank you so much for takingthe time to post this video. :)
What gets me watching this is that while at The Living Seas, it seems like it was only moments long and over too soon. It did not seem like 8 minutes. Now, all the pre-ride/exhibit stuff is crap. It doesn't really engage the brain.
Thank you for posting this. Brought back soo many memories from going as a kid. This was my favorite Epcot pavilion before it became the abomination it is now
What a shame that we are hearing Living Seas BGM aquaculture (or whatever song was) in background. Makes you wonder why that's embedded into this film? 🤔 like someone's placed a mic to pick up audio from film but in background picked up some BGM too 🤷🏻♂️
Disney Rob , where did you get the audio for this from - sounds crystal clear! - did u get the audio soundtrack from somewhere then just put it over what you shot on your cannon?
This was always my highlight of going to EPCOT every chance I got; I just don't see how NEMO could be far more educational than this...United Technologies should have kept up the sponsorship of this attraction. NEMO I guess appeals to younger children, but I bet a lot of parents would love to see this back on for educational value, not cartoons!
mavericksquid I was just there today and thought, maybe all the science is gone from EPCOT because you couldn't say any of this today--facts having become controversial. (Tho hey they did manage to sneak in the polar bear falling off of that melting ice in Soarin').
Can anyone possibly upload the preshow of this former attraction where the screens counted down to the time you would board the hydrulator? That would be awesome and epic!
I can't believe that this has been replaced with "the seas with Nemo & friends". I would expect something like that in Fantasyland, but EPCOT has been ruined in my opinion. Next thing you know they'll try to add Buzz Lightyear to Spaceship Earth ::cringe::
9 years later and its even worse. But here's the thing. The world went to hell and there's not a damn thing left worth looking forward to. But that tequila bar in Mexico still slaps.
I know this video is really old now, but..does anyone know who does the voice for the narration of this video..i've always wondered since i was a kid and first saw it.
+Pixk4 One of the most iconic voices of her time. I seem to have heard she past away some time ago. Not sure. I think Nicholas is Correct on the name. It rained..it rained,.. and it rained.....Love it! .....the seas were born. Disney had the right stuff on getting an attraction correct on the first try back then. Not the half thought out crap that replaced the good stuff.
+TheGandolf1 that is so true. I just don't know why they replaced some of those rides. I'm hoping carousel doesn't get the axe soon. I know imagination pavilion is still rotting away and there is actually a lot of the old imagination ride hidden behind walls. Now they are turning the top of the pavilion into a DVC lounge. Too many things getting replaced for shadows. I'm most sad I never got to ride Horizon. And they need to bring back the older narrators for Spaceship Earth. I personally like Jeremy Irons
so many people want to live on mars or the moon, while were are absolutely capable of building an underwater base just like this. Why not do that before trying to leave the planet?
