This is what I crave for. Story telling like this. It's obvious why it's nit doing well in the metrics, it's not as glittery like the mainstream. Look at it, this is showcasing and dealing with things that Avengers, X men and others can't even understand. Similar to hulk dealing with Hulk things like monsters, God's are dealing with Gods problems, which ironically can be very political. God's has been one of my favorites this year
I'm hoping that Hickman already had enough nuggets in here so that if he can't tell all of what he wants that there is enough introduced he could extend this elsewhere.
A lot of big stuff is on the horizon Thanos, The Fall of the Abstracts, The Carnage War, The Dominion War (Sorry, DS9 fans I don't know what else to call it 🤣)
@@matthewschwartz6607 Going back a couple years at this point Thor was given a vision of his TRUE DEATH by The Black Winter. The fate shown is UNAVOIDABLE, and that fate depicts Thanos wielding Mjolnir with 6 Infinity stones, a horde of undead, PLUS a gauntlet on his left hand with a black Infinity stone. Thanos (time travel/displaced ) was on a quest to learn how Bor (the grandfather of Thor) created an Infinity Stone. However what Thanos learns instead is how Hela came into being and we learn how Loki became Hela's "father". In the recent miniseries with Mistress Death (which is REALLY GOOD), Death had this existential crisis about her own existence. Death consulted The Illuminati, they slightly rewrote reality, and Death was allowed to live the mortal life of a young girl for as long as she needed to explore this existential crisis of faith in her own existence . Thanos DEMANDED his consort be everything she was meant to be and kills this mortal form, DEATH WAS F'ING FURIOUS, and Thanos imprisons Death inside a BLACK STONE. Tony Stark has a great line "You know we can't let him have that RIGHT " but, Doctor Strange is like the alternatives are Death kills Thanos and we get The Death Urge or Thanos kills Death and we get The Cancerverse. So Thanos is COMING, Thor's inevitable death is on the horizon, and with Thanos in possession a stone that grants him the total powers of Mistress Death the vision Thor had is taking shape.
Thanks for covering this, I like the story and want to know how it affects the bigger universe but I dont have the patience to read it. For me G.O.D.S is on par with Hickman's Secret Warriors, not his best work but definitely worth reading/watching.
I thought I was enjoying this series, but I didn't get anything out of this issue. Seems like the girl got nothing and lost her eyes? I guess I'm not seeing something....
I like the oblivion or used too. The snake replacement version is dumb. But guess it goes with the other characters they are pushing. I can't get into these people. I was really looking forward to it. But, just can't care. I am still waiting to see who the replacement for the one above all will be. What her name is.
Am I missing something about why being only able to lie for 24 hours would be such a big deal? Why did "she have no other option but to give up her eyes"?
