It is also easier to become dehydrated at altitude. This is a fantastic video, so much good information. If I make the trip to Moab again, I will look into hiring a guide. I consider myself an above average mountain biker and have ridden in the desert half a dozen times, but sometimes having someone else in charge of navigation makes it so much easier to just rip it on the trails! Thanks!

Just got back from Moab and the hardest feature for me is the 11k ft elevation at Burro pass.

Great video and good intel. Also should note Navaho Rocks. I am solid intermediate and the Coney Island/Big Mesa loop is spectacular. Cheers

My first real mountain bike adventure was in Moab, around 1996, what a great and epic place to ride. It's called the mountain bike mecca for a reason. Sedona is a close second or tie! But it doesn't have the long epic trails that Moab does.

with a friend (he’s the one who found the idea) we’ve flown from france to LA end of October 1996 (it was few days before US president election) , spent a night in LA to buy a Trek Y22 each on Pico Blvd, then flown to Las Vegas , rent a car to drive to Moab for a terrific week of ride !!! It was also my first real MTB adventure. 27 years later (I’m 54 in one month), I plan to come back in Moab (among a lot of other destinations over the world, mostly is USA and Canada BC).

@@franck7779 we are same age, I’ll be 54 in December! Yep so many great places to ride in the USA, if you get a chance go ride Sedona and in Colorado(Fruita area is less the 2 hours drive from Moab!).

Thanks. We moved to Phoenix and were wondering about the MTB trails in Moab. Now we know. I will check your site for shuttle prices, etc.

Great overview. We’re planning to come down from MN next fall and we’re fairly experienced riders but this definitely shows that Blue is a relative rating 😂. Appreciate the info.

This fantastic!! I will be in town for 2 days but can only ride for a few hours.. I'm a advanced rider. Do you rent ebikes for Dead Horse? I want to see and ride as much as possible , but don't blow myself out. Gotta go hiking with my wife..

Great video, thanks. We are planning to come to Utah in the spring, going to buy new Bakcou e-bikes. We are going to spend 1-2 weeks exploring. Are e-bikes allowed on the beginner/intermediate trails you discuss?

Class 1 Ebikes are allowed at Dead Horse Point State Park which is beginner friendly with some intermediate options. Its a blast to ride there on an E-bike. Thanks for watching the video

Yes, most likely the Brands will be clear of snow in April. But there still could be a random storm that comes through.

Is it downhill from the end of enchilada to town? Is there a water source at the end of the trail before starting back to town or do people carry water for all 27 miles ? Thanks .
@kennyg8103
@kennyg8103 Год назад
Hey Kevin. The ride back from the end of the enchilada is flat. It follows the river until you jump on the bike path into town. There is a water source (a natural spring with drinking quality water) on the left just before Lyons park. This is near the end of the ride tho. So dont depend on it. Have fun riding!

Bottom line, you will be a better rider after you ride Moab. Hire a guide if it’s money well spent.
