Welcome to Wonderhussy Adventure #448
Date of Adventure: 7/10/20
I was trying to social distance out in the field, but when the weekend rolled around it seemed like there were people EVERYWHERE! So I headed for the one place I figured I'd find desolation: U.S. Highway 50, a/k/a The Loneliest Road in America! This stretch of highway runs through some of the most sparsely populated parts of the West, and is said to be one of the most desolate areas in the United States. Is it just marketing hype? Come with me and find out!

@@kentondurrant8017 Satellite phones are great, except in certain cases of National Emergencies, in that case, if you don't have the right agency number, you will get a busy tone. It's or was located on Rt 50 just outside of Sand Mountain, before Middlegate. Middlegate was in full operation. The Motel and Restaurant, had a lot of folks there the night I stayed. @19:45 - speaking of suggestions, one You Tuber, RVer TV, has a drone. He stops frequently to give a "bird's eye view." Having one would help you (and us) get some idea of the places that you can't (or don't want to) access from the road. Thus, a ruin off the beaten track, could be shown with drone footage.
