Torches and stones are good for scaring wolves away. Just drop a lit torch, or a flare, between you and the wolf and aim a stone, or any weapon, at the wolf and they go a running. Don't think it works with bears though 😥Torches are also great for starting fires if you don't have a fire starter because you can light the torch with a single match and then use the torch to start the fire. If the fire fails, the same torch can be used to light it again.

A couple other folks mentioned the fires and torches thing. And, like total noobie, I keep forgetting. Thank you for another reminder. Did not know about how they work with wolves. Definitely thanks fir that!!

You've covered a lot of territory! Good thing avoiding the bear. But the game _did_ tell you that the meat was rancid when you started to cook it. Fire only improves things to some extent. With a bit over 70% quality, you still have a 1 in 4 chance of bad results. Just a bad roll that time. All those little events along the way kept triggering songs in wuff's mind like "Trailer for sale or rent..." and "You take the high road & i'll take to low road and I'll get ta Scotland before you!. Also, "Little houses on the hillside..." *hehe* Guess wuff was just in a musical mood tonight. TIP: Not only can you sometimes open a car trunk (and other times needs a prybar), but sometimes you can open the hood and the car doors. There is frequently good stuff inside a car on the seats (check both front and back) , in the glove compartment, and behind the visors. The hood generally only has batteries (and wuff isn't sure what to do with those yet). TIP: Don't forget to map your new areas. Charcoal from the campfire, etc.

Yeah. I caught on to the front and back seat search. Never thought of the hood. I'll have to check that out! And, yeah, that Roger Miller song gets stuck in my head playing this game, too.
