The Long Dark: EASY Day 1 Technical Backpack in 2023 (Stalker+, No Feats) 

For anyone looking for rope and it didn’t spawn, if you go left of the rock you climb down into the small crack there should be a rock with rope you can take! I didn’t have any luck with rope spawning so I was freaking out

3:20 A tip i saw in another video: instead of blow out the torch, place it in the ground and then right-click on it to move it across the map without having to worry about getting it wet. And still is going to continue illuminating.

The easiest way of getting rid of wolves is to make a fire and getting some torches and a stone. If a wolf approaches you, just drop the torch and aim at the wolf with the stone (or any other weapon). The wolf will charge at you, but gets scared away by the burning torch, so it runs away. Pick up the torch an continue your path. If another (or the same) wolf bothers you, just drop the torch again and aim, rince and repeat. It might glitch out, causing a struggle, but that's only about 1 out of 50.

Quick tip: at 6:45 it's migth be wise to turn your head back to check the location of possible bear coat spawn(rope also can spawn there). It's not a guarantee spawn, but it's still worth checking, if it is there it can be a huge deal considering in this scenario we are at the start of the run and obviously are lacking decent clothes.

You don't need a rope to go down to the mine. There is a very steep slope to the left side that you can use.

i loved this!!! the shorter term content (compared to a lot of things on tld) felt so refreshing, and the face pace really kept my focus on the video. the occasionally commentary was great and more of this type of video would be SO amazing!!

Fun fact there is a spot near the bridge that has a chance of spawning a full bearskin coat that's at 60% condition I found it when playing on voyager difficulty

really nice explanation. didnt realize that you could get up to the path on the right in the early climb to avoid that wolf bottleneck on the left. +1 to the comment about placing the torch to save a match (if your 'exploit' morals dont mind lol :) +1 also to the 6:45 when you turn back right about 5 oclock directionally there is some nice loot

Nice video! Just a quick tip about the waterfall. If you drop the torch and right click on it to “move it”, you can carry it lit through the waterfall without any issues.

Nice job. I always do PV farm an cash site first. Then timberwolf summit, then i do the backpack. At that point getting the pack is dirt easy eith my flare gun an good clothing. I had all 3 tasks done by day 30 an level 5 cooking at day 55. Its been going really good with the new loot tables etc. Im good at lo9king around playing fallout games all my life

You missed the bear coat and the stim they are almost at the same place

I couldn't get the right spawn point. But I followed your path yesterday on a brand new voyager run, easiest time I've ever had getting in and out of Ash Canyon hands down. Even had the time to loot Miners Folly and the Foreman's Retreat before the wolves and bears spawned. Thank you!!!!

If you have no weaknesses and not encumbered, all you need is a lot torch and wolves run away, you don’t even need to aim a rock at them

you dont have to turn off the torch you can simply throw it on the floor and pick it up with right click as you move forward with no clothes then place it and pick it up again

this should be stalker and below in interloper you will need to find a matches/flare/storm lantern and bedroll if possible

The bridge doesn't sway. Its an optical illusion. The ropes move giving the appearance of swaying. Just walk straight and your fine.

U can outrun the regular wolfs by not looking at them and keep running

That part when you said to put down the torch and takes your clothes off in the cave; its not neccesary. You can keep the torch on just take your shoes and socks off

I always start my runs in ash canyon.. probably one of my top 3 fav regions.. i play loper and stalker most of the time.. nice vid..

i believe u should have to craft a backpack and how much weight it gives is on the mending skill u are plus i think they should add a tool belt were it takes 1/2 of the weight of the tool on how many tool u can put on it also goes with ur mending skill

I've looked at the ash canyon map, what's the benefit in taking this route? I see that you could spawn in the name location, but you turn left then head east, going past the shallow cave. Then if you keep hugging the wall to your right, you'll eventually reach the set of the ropes. Is climbing those three ropes too difficult (sorry, old time player but don't use ropes often). You don't need a rope to get down to the entrance, there seems to be some sorta one way path. It looks like that route is faster, and no wolves or bears (but a potential moose).

Omg! 😢 Someobe please 🙏... I am trying to get past the water in the xave at first, but the water isn't even a ricer ad it is in this video... it's a WATERFALL! Then I'm so cold and can't see shit so every time I go "straight till I take a left" I'm still messed up BAD and soaked and still no where.. I'm determined to get that backpack 🎒 😤 🤪 please help with any suggestions? Am I in the wrong cave? Please and thanks xo

On my 100 reset and never spawn where he shows..no bs..is it because i have the far territory dlc?

I had a hard time following at that speed, is there any chance you would consider a slower version for those of us not as capable at the game?
