Hades is a beautiful game. Played the Beta for at least 6 months and the games visuals are on a whole different level to most rouge likes. It's a great game, decent story, amazing visuals and sound.

Quick note: the episode 2 not starting glitch is actually still present. I know because it happened to me and I had no idea what was going on until I looked it up!

I disagree about the graphics. I think the style is done on purpose and actually adds intrigue and a unique dynamic to the game. There are times when you feel like you're actually there and that the world is remarkably beautiful. I don't think it has anything to do with cutting down costs, but rather to do with Hinterland's individuality. I for one absolutely love the way it looks.

You misunderstood. He wasn't talking about the overall design or stylistic choices, he was talking strictly about the level of the Switch port compared to other platforms like PC and Xbox. In order to make such a beautiful game run on a handheld build, they had to make some compromises in things like texture detail. Obviously, the style of the game is gorgeous and no one said otherwise.

If you're on the fence about survival games. Pls try this one, i bought it in 2016 when it was on early access, the devs bring good updates and are very transparent about the game and development. Is the pinnacle of a survival-crafting game, you have nice customizable difficulty presets, you can make it a chill and beatiful experience or a real nightmare, and in both extremes the game really shines.

Anyone on the fence, this game is the pinnacle of hardcore survival. I have hundreds of hours on the PC version. Just considering if I might go ahead and get the switch one too. Play it any way you can.

Could you comment on the HUD size? I see in the options you can make it larger. I play on the Lite and sometimes small HUD/Text on games (like Flame in the Flood) become eye straining after awhile. Great review!

Personally I have no issue! The only time I put my screen closer to my face is to make out an animal in a further distance, and that’s only occasionally. First thing I did was make the HUD larger as I felt it was too small in Normal and it fits perfectly this way imo. I wear glasses, mind you they’re a couple years old but I can still see fine, and text is no issue for me on the Lite! I think it’s a blast for now being a portable game.

And as always I’m thankful you here to watch! I’ve been curious to see how much interest there is in this one! It’s a big game in my opinion but dropping the same day as Ori and Hades and then the day before the Mario collection that’s a challenge for sure!

Great review like always. I don't know if you have played or reviewed Kentucky Route Zero for the Switch but if not you definitely should. Heard it is a great game and looks right up your alley. There are 5 parts just like this game will have. I'd like to see your thoughts. Thx again!

I love Kentucky route zero, I didn’t get to review it sadly but it’s probably one of my favorite games on the switch honestly! Annapurna the publishers need to release outer wilds on the switch! Your learning my taste Michael lol!

Othercide is in my review, still finishing it myself honestly, really like it, it has some visual compromises on the switch and it’s brutally difficult honestly! The text is weirdly small docked too, handheld a lot better!! If you like turn based though well worth it! Hades I’ve done a couple hours seems incredible honestly but like 10 reviews dropped today so I’m focusing on an Ori review for tomorrow maybe Sunday then hades Sunday/Monday!

While you gave this a higher score in the end, between this and Green Hell, what would be your recommendation for someone realistically newer to the genre that would be for sure playing on the absolute easiest possible settings?

I like survival games but it depends on the game for me. This game is very friendly to the player as there’s tons of options. From easy to brutally hard, then there’s custom mode for what YOU feel you want to play with. It’s truly great, you could have a completely passive experience where weather is your enemy, and not just wolves and bears.

I had played this in alpha I think way back when it was $3 on steam. I jump back in every once in a while but it has come a LONG WAY. There are some other survival games like flame in the flood that I loved more.

SwitchCorner just checked on their website support. They found a issue with the end of episode 1. Fix the problem by starting a new game in second episode. Kind of a bummer but I’m sure they will fix it! Appreciate the reply!!

If you're talking about the part where the wounded bear pushes you and the rail cart over then yeah I got that black screen too.

Hey Antonio, I went back and test that ending about ten times. It seems to be when you walk immediately out the tunnel it causes it. If you walk up and press the button prompt to exit, I think it’s the A button it doesn’t happen

Definitely The Long Dark. In my opinion The Long Dark has more variety in level and sound design (one of the main reason to buy the game), better survivial and immersion elements. And there is even a good campaign. So just buy it and enjoy! :)

Hey! I really should have dropped that in, performance seemed identical honestly! No issues for me, I only got about 30 minutes in handheld just to be clear but it was a pretty busy moment in the game!

I don't know anything about the Nintendo switch but I enjoy the game The Long Dark does this game work on older generation switches. I like to pick up a used older generation because that's the only game I will play and I don't feel like paying over $300 for the new gen... what's your thoughts or advice?

@@SwitchCorner I was sceptical about it to be honest, all that praise sound to good to be true and I already burned myself couple times following hype. Hmm its maybe too soon for saying this(I played only 10h) but right now I'm putting Hades next to Dead Cells. Combat maybe isn't as much fluid but the storytelling aspect is what I missed the most in Motion Twin production. Children of Morta did this before for me, convinced me to care about protagonist in roguelike game when in most of cases they are just walking bags of gear and hp/dps/crit numbers. Can't wait to here about your experience.
