Excellent vlog mini series. Great reminder that one does NOT need to ride a big and/or expensive motorcycle to enjoy very long motorcycle tours. I still have very fond memories of my tour of Spain and France many years back on my trusty old 650 Katana.

Well done Freddie, what a trip and my god you rode your luck with that spark plug. One mile from home. Well done great program, I feel that we were with you all way there and back. Do the triumph a favor and book it in for a good service and get those tappets adjusted it has been a good bike for you that is the least you can do to say thank you to it. Have a good rest and we will see you for your next video. Well done Freddie. Kind Regards Andrew. Ps I am of for a rest after all of that.

Glad you made it to England “Freddie of Arabia”. But I was thinking about your little break down. I’ve never had a plug blow out of the head on any of my bikes in the 37 years I’ve been riding. It’s happened to you twice so far on your trips. Maybe the threads on that side of the head are stripped. There’s got to be something causing that to happen. You might want to check that out and heli coil the plug hole. Or just put some blue loctite on the plug

You are SO correct, young man. You were VERY fortunate that the temporary breakdown occurred close to home. The Triumph gods were looking after you indeed. And should you have another experience of not having access to your motorcycle gloves, buy a cheap small box of disposable medical exam gloves and place them underneath a hardware pair. It will keep your hands' temperature intact and dry. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us, Freddie. God speed you and Monica in your future ones.

Thoroughly enjoyed, thanks. In the late seventies, early eighties my wife and I toured France, Spain and Portugal on our Norton Commando many times staying above bars and in cheap hotels etc and what an adventure. Met some wonderful people. Now I live alone in a motorhome and toured Europe for three months after the pandemic with my dog. Not so easy to do now after Brexit, otherwise known as the the great deception: to me, anyway. Keep on keeping on.

There are many bike trips on RU-vid from all over the world. This one is up there with the, I won’t say best, but most interesting. From the first video when I saw you loading up a full sized tyre pump to not having any local cash or SIM card to the missing tool part at the end, this series was indeed a real world scenario, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it! You certainly stand out from the vanilla content out there and thanks for the viewing pleasure. One request, chin mounted cam gives a much better shot, like we’re on the bike almost and seeing what you see. Wherever you have the cam mounted it gives the feeling you could be in a car. 👍👍

Great little series Freddie, being an ex motorcycle mechanic probably a good idea to have that spark plug hole looked at as plugs don't usually just pop out, the spark plug you showed did look like it had alloy on the threads, meaning the plug hole could be stripped.....anyway my thoughts......so lucky was close to home.

It's 2315 in Indonesia, and your channel finally upload the last leg of the Sahara adventure, and immediately got beautiful road and mountains at the intro. Sometimes I envy many motorcyclist YT personality that makes full time job travelling, while videoing and editing their adventure, but 2000 miles riding back home, alone, definitely not gonna work for common folks like me who had day time job behind computer. Hopefully I can emulate what Freddie and Monica had done in recent years, travelling and documenting their adventure on motorcycle, solo or with my partners on various places in the world, well, Indonesia for starters.

It's been coldish in southwest Portugal, too, especially in the evening. I once lost my gloves in southern Europe somewhere and rode back over the Alps and home in work gloves a truck driver gave me. 26:28. That's what I call an old-school dash. Hi Freddie, being so close to home I would have screwed the spark plug in by hand with the aid of some oil or grease from somewhere on the bike! It would have got you home. 5000 miles on a spark plug is nothing there're usually good for 40,000 miles so simply clean them. Far too many people bin them way too early.
