This is probably my favorite COTD map ever. I love the idea of a super long COTD map with all the different surfaces to drive, I kinda wish that Nadeo would make it a monthly thing like the troll maps on the 1st of the month. I'm still a beginner at Trackmania, but I've already spent hours on this map trying to get my time in the sub 3:40 range. It has honestly helped quite a lot in honing my game and making it more versatile. I've probably improved more in the last 2 days than in the previous 3 weeks combined just because I've been obsessed with this map lol.

I'm damn impressed by how consistent you guys in div 1 are. On a three minute long map the top 10 are only around five seconds apart. That's insane.

Got DIV 3 in this one, one of my best participations yet. :) Went out due to one stupid mistake in a round where suddenly everyone was fast.

this was fun. i got like div 30 because i was about 5 minutes late but i left about half way through because it was taking too long lmaoo

I literally bought club access yesterday and was so hyped to play cotd for my first time. I was 5 minutes late because of internet and I rushed in to play the map. And of course I finished 5 seconds after registration ended.

You can actually see how pro players pop off on longer maps, it is so interesting.

The three of them have really good chemistry. It's a really fun change of pace alongside the normal solo content!

11:11 Fun fact: I have done something like what Jnic says there once in my life. Our house is remote af for german standarts. To get the train to school I had to walk 1,5km througth fields and woods. I Winter i usede the direct path over the snow coverd fields. The in the last half of the way is areally steep hill for 200+m. At the Bottom of that hill was a woman with her Dog. Its early in the morning barely some sunligth. And then I came into the picture. Late af, running like hell down that hill. Out of nowhere. Directly to her, because she was in my line. She hold on to her dog for bare life and I rushede like 50cm alongside her off into the woods (Train station behind that said wood). That was 15 years ago i can remember her eyes like it was yesterday. I feelt bad for her, but i got the train only by 10 seconds or so. I had no choise :-)

Wirtual is like Samson. But instead of losing his power when he cuts his hair, Wirtual will lose his power if he turns off his computer. 🤣

I usually watch your videos of a game I've never played for the editing style and quality, but today it was for the quick wit and banter with your friends.

The way I play trackmania is always looking for the long maps, like tens of minutes of driving. I'm not very good at the game, but it helps me get my mind off of things, so it is my equivalent of going for drive, since I don't have a car. I liked this map very much, hopefully longer maps become more mainstream

A long track like this is sick! It would be cool to see a long track like this if they ever ended up doing a cup of the year with a bunch of different challenges to push all the different winners throughout the year to the max

i just wanna point out, it is proven that PC that is never turned off will last longer than a pc that will be turned on and off daily. You can compare pc components to a light bulb.

Great variation for Cup! They just need to code it so 2x as many people are eliminated until top 4 for long maps.

I participated in one of this maps cotd. Practiced it for a long time (pretty much all day) beforehand. I got 7th place in div 4. Nothing incredible, but hard earned and I felt good about it. Watching wirtual drive most of the track (for the first time only) I'm feeling kinda smug watching his sloppy lines and then he gets on the ice and does that part better than me first try when I studied the GPS and shit lol

Hey Wirtual! Have you checked your XMP profile in your bios. It sets your memory speed, and if it’s not set correctly it will severe limit your computers performance. You can check what your memory speed is set to in task manager under the memory tab, and compare it to what your memory’s advertised to run at. If you need any more info or help, let me know.

Fun fact, with how computers are nowadays you no longer need to power them off that frequently. All modern computers have very few moving components so you can leave them running indefinitely.

Programmer and servers and PCs maintainer here. You don't need to turn off you computer, It does not do any harm to it. You do need to clean it from time to time, at least once a year or every 6 months, depends on how dusty is the place where you live (I live near a park so mine tends to need cleaning from 3 to 6 months). My current PC is always on and maybe I turn it off once a month when I need to change something on it (has also a family NAS server on it). My Plex and Minecraft server are on another PC that never turns off but for hardware cleaning.

Not sure why people think that leaving a computer on is bad. Computers are meant to run for longevity. The more you turn on and off your computer in short bursts, the worse it is for your PC parts. We aren't in the 90s anymore, they aren't frail prototype things.

Actually not turning off PC is a good thing to do. The same thing goes for every electronic device!

Just an fyi, yeah it’s good sometimes to clean a pc and to restart it, but it’s actually bad to let it cool down and warm up repeatedly, so you do actually want to leave it running pretty much all the time. Same principle as a light bulb, it’s turning it on and off that wears it out because of the expansion and contraction.

I will note, as far as I know it's actually *better* for your computer if you leave it on constantly and power it off less - it's not the power going through the circuits that degrades them the most, it's the *transition* from full power to no power and vice versa which does it. So if anything, Wirtual's PC would last *longer* than others.

PCs can work perfectly fine if left on 24/7, they can even work better some times because if the PC never turns off it wouldn't go through the process of cooling down and back up so it'd avoid thermal damage or whatever it's called. Basically it won't deteriorate overtime because of heating up quickly after the initial boot. If you do run your pc 24/7 I suggest you restart it before using it atleast once or twice a week to avoid some errors if they ever happen anyway & to avoid random lag, it's like taking a quick 10 minute shower or a 10 minute power nap, it feels great.

To be fair, turning stuff on and of is the action that puts the most stress on electrical components, but on the other hand computers have a certain "life" expectancy (is that a word?) and at some point something just breaks (normally at the moment you turn it on after it was being turned off after it was being turned on for a long time). But dusting of is definitely recommended anyway, especially the fans of your gpu.

Just curious, does tracmania calculate the traction of surfaces at each wheel or the vehicle as a whole?

7:50 if PC is running at good temp, its better to not turn it off, as thermal shrink is the reason for why old PC died. If you can keep it on, and temps are not over 60 on any component, and temps are stable, its better to keep it online if you want it to last. That's usually difference between 20y or 50y lasting electronics so PC users usually dont care that much.

im not 100 % sure this is true but im pretty sure that shutting down a computer often is actually bad for it. there is a very small chance that startup can fuck up ur computer so u dont wann do it every day.
