I wouldn't say most people, I feel like the potion mechanic is semi-well knows, mostly for the most used ones, but yeah I've never heard of the turtle master potion.

I think the poison might not do damage to the absorption, therefore your regular health bars would be going down, so your last regular heart would be a half heart but you would still have absorption hearts after it.

@@Finalizor _That's even worse though._ like lingering potions are one thing, but the fact that something as simple as dipping an arrow in poison is locked behind a resource that can only be harvested while fighting the dragon is beyond absurd. Made even worse by the fact that it's not even a thing on bedrock (there you just use a cauldron and normal potions) and villagers can make tipped arrows with ease.

Honestly Minecraft's whole potion mechanic feels... underwhelming. In regular survival there's very rarely a situation it's actually worth using a potion other than Fire Resistance or Water Breathing.

Fun fact, if you sort every item by length with spaces, and then sort by length without space, the heart the sea is about 115 places farther down the list spaceless list than the spaceful list, due to having many short words.

They're clutch for minigame designs. I'm working on a circuit for horse racing, and I want to add -Formula E style Attack Mode Zones- Mario Kart style Arrow Fields, and I was just going to use splash potions, but the timing is basically impossible given just how fast horses travel. Thus lingering potions are probably going to be the way to go.

Lingering potions are more useful for the area effect cloud entity (like, the ability to summon an area effect cloud with a variety of effects, sizes, and particles) than they are for actual use in survival.

Well sadly on Java you need them in order to make tipped arrows (hurray for parity)
