I use Tobii Eye Tracker 5 for the smooth camera movement, it's a great way to add more realism to the game :) Check it out here(affiliate link): tobii.gg/alphaproject *Use code 'alphaproject' for 5% off you purchase!*
@ryofang I've been to all the states and providences between Texas and Alaska as im a 3rd generation trucker that was born and raised on the road before becoming a driver myself. and I can tell you it would definitely be a trip to remember if you ever got the chance to make the trip irl.
I am a real truck driver in Europe. I wanted to say that you have traveled a bit of the virtual world. I don't know the States, but the views are great. And those beautiful American trucks.
@@vishnuram1811 Correct. Sam has recently been getting to know American trucks. Once when I was a kid, I had a poster of a beautiful Kenworth. And recently I started to "visit" the USA in American Truck Simulator, I really like the Western States in this game.
Drove semis for 17 years in the states. It looks so small on a flat map. Texas looks so small on the map also, but if you go from El Paso, Texas to Texarkana, Texas it is the same as going from Nantes, France to Berlin, Germany.
I've been following along on Google maps. Currently through Amarillo TX. This game is nuts. The detail is insane. Even when arriving to Ballinger, it has the square / park on the right and the building in the southwest corner, same windows. Same color and design. Just wow. Going to keep following for sure.
Indeed. If games today are so bold like this, some producing unbelievable replicas of the Earth (i.e. Microsoft Flight Simulator) imagine what scale of bold acts we will be seeing in 10 years.
@AlphaProject hi man thank you! Whenever you get a chance, can you do one that goes through LA amd Baton Rouge and New Orleans?! I wonder if landmarks like LSU stadium and the Saints' Caesers Palace Superdome would be shown?! You can see LSU stadium off the Mississippi River Bridge (I-10) and the Superdome in NOLA off of 10
My wife sometimes says like "just play like An hour maybe"...I'm like, have you even seen the game? One hour is like just picking up the trailer and go to the next town and that's it... ATS needs minimum 3hrs
first thing i noticed was how realistic the movement was . I was like this guys got the worlds best gaming mouse. Then i saw the eye tracker. Total game changer i might have to buy one now!
This is so cool man. I'd like to watch the whole thing now but I'm not sure if I should get the Texas DLC first and experience the whole thing myself beforehand.
Thanks! It's always better to experience it yourself first. Then again, Texas is really big and this video only covers some of it, there's plenty of cool places left to explore.
As a real trucker I can appreciate safe driving practices both inside the sim and in real life. Too many folks drive recklessly in a sim than go straight into driving in real life...
happened to a guy i know he thought the traction was like in forza horizon (he used to play on my race sim) and when he got his first car he crashed on the first corner he took at high speed lmao
@@alpha2project Rq ? I bought the zeemods engine sound pack you use, but how do you get that popping sound when shifting gears, I'm not very knowledgeable on trucks, I guess it sounds like a radiation detection sound on like a Geiger counter.
5:26:41 That antenna is actually present in Delta Junction. The couple buildings present on the left as you pass thru town are relatively accurate. Quite impressive.
I am aswell! Do you play American truck simulator? I personally feel like they could have done more with Houston but I want to hear other opinions. To me, a ton of reasonable detail was left out
Tell you what, I haven't watched much of this, but it's great to work to having it on for background noise. Must admit, I do switch over to see what's happening when I hear sirens or the bells ringing for a train crossing, hoping a truck's stuck on the rails or something 🤣
I couldn't imagine beinb able to sit there that long and make the whole trip. It must have been realistic feeling as hell. Thanks for bringing this vid to us and having the courage to make it through. Amazing ! Really enjoyed it.
Join my discord! discord.gg/URUpsKDkwp I'm starting to write small mod reviews there, both payware and freeware and for ETS2 & ATS. I think it's a great way to show the community some mods they might have not heard about.
This is incredible. Just wondering, how did you find a specific job that went the whole way to the other side of the map? Is there a mod where you can create your own jobs?
Yo as someone who played Euro truck simulator with American mods as well as ATS, THANK YOU for using cab view!!!!!! I hate seeing so many streamers and the only thing they use is 3rd person view. It really takes away from the game, so yeah Thank you!!!
Not often do I see a 6 hour video, but then based on your channel size you are pretty small so your not really "making" much from this, I think you deserve S for Effort. (Sub)
My boss handed me a brand new canary yellow W900L in 98'. I drove it for 17 years and put a little over 2 million miles on it. I miss that truck like it's a dead relative lol.
before I clicked the video, I thought it's a real video, but I like it. All the roads are based from real roads, right? the locations and everything? I really like this, in GTA San Andreas I used to play so much with the truck!
I had no idea SCS was involved with making this game. I played their 18 Wheels of Steel games back in the day; I would’ve killed to play this as a kid. The old games were VERY limited in what they could do. Watching those doubles pass you in the beginning blew my mind. I drive doubles now. The old games couldn’t do that! I’ve only just started watching this; I don’t know if you drive IRL too, but I’d give yourself some more following distance. Just my 2 cents.
SCS has come a long way since the 18WoS games, honestly they've been an amazing company, developing these games for years after launch and listening to the community. I do drive IRL, even worked as a truck driver for a little while, but yes I tend to drive too close sometimes, something I have to watch out for, thanks for the input :)
Alaska mod doesn't play friendly with Canadream mod. It works with the latest coast to coast mod, but here is the tricky bit, there are still holes in the roads on the c2c map, which where not there before I added the alaska mod, but no worries, c2c still works. I want to add mexico but i have always had issues with getting it to work. I have no idea if it will or won't work with alaska mod. This mod is not compatible with map fixes like montana, midwest etc. This map mod is worth buying. It supports current 1.46. ATS, just don't update the sim before the mod creator updates alaska mod or it will crash your sim. I am going to drive from key west to prudhoe bay, no idea how many mi/km it is, but its huge a distance! Oh when you buy the mod, you will always get updates to it for free for the life of the mod.
I recently did a delivery from Austin Texas to Seattle Washington. It was about at least a 2230 miles trip and took me about close to two days (game time) to complete ( close to 3 hrs real time). If not counting passes to weighing stations or that missed turn i took by the Big I in Albuquerque though. It was the longest delivery i ever did so far in ATS. I'm hoping to do a return trip not too soon, if with at least a Seattle to Austin delivery or departing any place in Washington to arrive to any place in Texas.
Awesome, I used to drive myself and was always a fan of big trucks. However, I have not been able to drive since my MS diagnosis. I drove across Europe. At least I still have ETS2 and ATS left today. The longest I drove in the game was about 3000 miles, I sat there for 5 hours, then my fingers gave up. Cool project anyway 🥰🥰😎😎
This is great, I'm going to have to look into the Alaska mod! Question, though: how many monitors do you run? I have a very similar setup but you appear to run a bit smoother and I've been wondering if it is due to multi-monitor setup.
Appreciate the ride along. Just wondering if you're a new company driver since you can't talk on the CB or listen to the FM radio? Never knew a driver to be that quiet on such a long haul! lol Loved the scenery, very realistic . . .
Not sure how often you'll be cruising behind the tour bus up the Dalton Highway or the dude in the Mustang with the top down rolling around Prudhoe Bay at -7 but hey to each their own.
This is reminiscent of my grandfather who drove us, as kids, from Pennsylvania to Alaska and back, twice, with dually pick up and fifth wheel camper. Hitting as many states as possible along the way.
Wow what an awesome drive man. Alaska is an amazing map mod. I just have one question. How did you set up the load? Did you use something to manually dispatch the load or did you somehow luck out and find the load in the freight market?
Thanks! I refreshed the market about 50 times until I found a good load going from Corpus Christi to Prudhoe Bay, then got to Browsville and started the video :)
This just popped up in my suggestion feed randomly. That is some incredible effort you put into doing this. Maybe you should try livestreaming some time so you have a conversation/company with viewers and you'll add a nice commentary to the video too
used to do Reykjavik to Beirut in ETS2. ATS is starting to look all the same in the US to me as they expand the states, and who am not familiar with the local area nuances.
3:05:27 also thanks for stopping by the small town I grew up in with my grandpa, very small looks just like it does in real life, gotta tell the dev's to add a big C and a cross on the mountain though.
Whoa the way this starts off in South Texas is awesome. Ive been through those inspection stations while traveling north through Texas. Although the distances arent really accurate, the landmarks are pretty accurate.
Keep up the good work and how do you get the game and where do you get the game can you get it for ps5 and Nintendo switch where do you get it at someone please help me thanks
`This is a very nice, well done video. It helps me relax, makes me travel. I like the fact that you stop for sleeping. I dont know much about the game but do you have to respect and fill out a log for working and resting hours like in real life or you do it for the realism? Love the video
Thank you! The game has a feature sort of like this, but it only makes you sleepy in game(screen starts fading to black when your hours are up), I don't know if it's accurate, I've had it turned off for years. But I still like to keep track of the driving hours and sleep when needed. I've thought about getting a real log book as well and filling that out for each day, ATS is a perfect game for role playing like that.
Thank you youtube algorithm for giving me another ATS video. This is how I find the best map mods, and it seems the ones here are pretty dang good. I'll be adding these.
