"The Longest Walk" was a Native American spiritual and political protest walk across the nation from San Francisco to Washington D.C. in 1978. This event was to protest anti-Indian legislation proposed in Congress that would abrogate tribal treaties of Native Americans. The documentary broadcast on several PBS stations. Featured speakers are: Lehman Brightman, John Trudell, Phillip Deere, Russel Means, Marlon Brando, Dick Gregory, Ron Dellums, John Redhouse, Vernon Bellecourt, Wallace Black Elk and others.
