The problem with these efforts, and what scares me, is that it's reactionary. Going out of your way to "fly your flag" whether it be a national emblem or a pride flag, is just provoking people to espouse the very thing you're supposed to be working against. Positioning yourself as a remedy to x ideology makes you just like them... but with a different patina. True intellectual freedom doesn't look like this. You may justify your stance on the grounds that evil will win if you don't oppose it, but in the end you just become evil for not giving your opponents an honest hearing and examining yourself. You're mission fails to be circumspect. Look it up.
