I think this watch represents a departure of sorts for your brand. It is a unique piece and defies comparison to anything else out there. The Panerai influence is there, but it is different enough to claim its own space. And it is better on the leather strap for sure.
Just got my ISL-80 in the mail...WOW! Amazing looking watch with the supplied BOR bracelet, I then popped it on a natural Horween strap, and now double wow! The proportions are perfect, the crystal with the raised edge is a nice touch of elegence, and the vintage C3 lum is outstanding. At first, I didn't think it was a big deal but the NH-38 without the ghost position makes the watch feel like a 1000 bucks. Now I got to get the new LIW embossed case back to complete the masterpiece. Great job Mark!
The ISL-80 is my first Islander purchase and the beginning of a relationship with the brand. The leather strap really adds presence to the case design. Simply smashing!
Extremely successful design. The small adjustments you made from the ISL-79's design result in a more coherent whole. I was on the fence about the prior model, but I'm totally on the bandwagon regarding this one. Congrats!

Ok just got this watch in and it’s not exactly what I was thinking, I have to tell everyone that Marc knocked this one out of the park!! The Bracelet was nice but damn! The brown leather strap is the way to go with this watch. Thanks for your attention to detail Marc !! Love this watch!!
I received mine last wk and was surprised how much I bonded with it already, it's my 1st islander I was eyeing up the blue version for a little while and when I saw this version on the moving sale I had to jump on it and I'm so happy I did, really comfortable watch, very high quality in looks and the feel I've inky had a few days but so far I can't find anything about it that I don't like, sure there is always things you can say would make it better but I think Marc really nailed the execution of this piece and at this price point it's really a bargain. After getting a islander in my hands and on my wrist it's made me take another look at the rest of their offerings, definitely great quality for the money, and as always Shipping was fast , watch was packed up nicely, and customer service is just incredible. Very cool watch. Looks great on both strap and bracelet. Non-rotating bezel is perfect. I love a sandwich dial and the color scheme is super. This should be a home run Marc.
I was on your site over Thanksgiving...and was searching for and didn’t find any Vintage looking lume watches. The new bond omega got me thinking of vintage . Funny enough I did pick up the ISL 79 ... if I had just waited I could have had the best of both. Love the look of this.
Just bought mine, it's suppose to be here next Wednesday. I'm excited.. I think this looks way better than the Panerai. Thick leather strap and this thing will be a monster. Thanks Marc!
Very nice looking indeed! Obviously this wouldn't have been possible since you were reusing the other case, but I'd love to see a version with a narrower bezel
Although a 42mm case is bigger than I prefer, it wears smaller. Fit and finish is superb. You nailed it with the lume, sunburst black dail, and font for the number cut outs! Hats off to you Marc! P.S. I got the brown leather strap and it compliments the watch perfectly!
Hello Mark. I totally missed the ISL-79,have to check it out. This one does look awsome even if had my doubts about square watches,, besides the Seiko SSC513. I haven't bought an Islander yet but there are a few on the list, one more with this one.
Ohhhh man now I'm itching! If you pull this off on a blue sunburst with white lume, I'm gonna have to jump. :-) Marc great job again, you're killing it!
Ok, couldn’t stand it anymore and with Christmas bonuses being distributed, I ordered this one as a Christmas gift for myself lol. Love the looks of this watch!!
Another lovely looking watch. Congrats. I had and sold the ISL 79 because the bracelet end links were horrific to put on. But boy what a looker. Excellent bracelet, but horrible end links so hard to put on that it resulted in scratched up lugs when the lug pins would randomly pop out when wearing it with the slightest movement. Maybe mine was a one off. I’m inclined to think so as all of my many ISL watches never had a single issue. And yes, I own over 30 watches with bracelets and never had this issue on any of them. I can remove and install all of them in seconds easily. I saw another one on eBay with the same scratched up lugs in exactly the same spots. Hopefully this has been sorted. Sometimes tolerances can be too tight.

Very nice, I own a couple of Vostoks, this case is very much like the Amphibia, but your watches are much more refined and have way better quality, great video.
I normally dont like watches on leather straps preferring to use either a bracelet or a rubber strap. That being said, this looks fantastic on the leather strap, its the way I would wear it. The black dial makes this a bit of a strap monster I can see it looking totally different on a few straps I already own. Would be nice to get a Panerai style crown guard on there somehow - but it looks fantastic either way. Fingers crossed my funds coincide with your next sale! (put one in the sale for me!). Q. Is there any way to show total price to the UK with duties pre paid? (some other sites have started doing this) Makes budgeting for a purchase so much easier!
Your most original piece so far and interestingly, the dial has a dark brownish look to it. Very retro look, on the chunky/thick side, looks best on the strap IMHO
That is one exquisite timepiece!! It looks so big and tough. It fits in with the esthetic of the big old haggard looking grizzly bear like me. My pup's say I am just a big softy, shhh. 🤫🐻🐶
OH my frickin Lord! Is there ANY way that you add a day date window to this case/dial? I always wanted a day date Panerai but they simply do not exist 😂
So you say you can pop this bezel off and put a rotating bezel in its place? Awesome. I am going to search and see if you already have a video on how to do that. I sure don't dive, but I love the function of a rotating bezel for a time elapsed timer.
I like this! It sort of harks back to the ‘70’s, to me.I can image John Holmes or Ron Jeremy sporting it, on a wide leather bund strap,while at work!🤣😉
