Sy Smith's voice is brilliant, sensational, and breathtaking. No one can compare with her interpretation for this song "The look of Love", especially at the very beginning. I heard it on PBS in 2011. In 2024, I am still overwhelmed by it.
Me and my brother took our mother to see Chris Botti and Sy Smith at The Mohegan Sun many years ago. Both were cordial after the show was over and they had a meet and greet. I have to find the photos of my mom with Chris Botti and Sy Smith. I was raised to appreciate good music and both put on a really great show.

Steven Carter, yes indeed. Another "sweet" song from the incomparable Burt Bacharach and Hal David. Their catalog of songs is unsurpassed and not just because of the quantity, but the quality and vast diversity of them as well. I enjoyed them as a teenager when they first came out and I enjoy them still.
YES! Deadly rhythm section all the way around. Bass and drum and guitar locked in the zone. Exceptional. And the singer and Botti, well, this is one of the best versions of this great tune I've ever heard.
She has a BILLION DOLLAR VOICE!!! I hope she gets promoted very soon. I could listen to her voice for hours !!!! WOW !! The way she blends her voice and the trumpet player at 5:11 is BRILLIANT !!!!!!
Oh my.....what a beautiful song....they turned this classic into a sexy, jazzy and upbeat tune. Love it. Sy is SO GORGEOUS. Love the drummer, guitarist too......pure talent. I saw them in concert twice and it's even better live........
Yep! The guitarist is her cousin, Jazz Guitarist Mark Whitfield. I got put on her cuz of the last CD he just did with his sons. She’s on there and I could have swore it was Deniece Williams! I tracked her down and bought her CDS. Saw her stream a concert from the Blues Alley in DC back in August. SEE THIS WOMAN

Her look, the song, her voice, the style, the band.... This catapulted me back to my beloved 70's and did it in a way that was smooth and sexy! Billy, you make playing the drums look like it's super fun and sound like Buddy Rich! Killing it man!

I saw Chris Botti at Deer Valley a few years ago and it was truly one of the best Concerts I've ever been to, and I've been to hundreds of concerts. Consummate musicians, all of them. And Chris is beyond outstanding! So is this gal singing.

Horrid, the ‘stylings’ of the singer completely overwhelmed the sweet soulful lyrics and the orchestration obliterated the mood of the original score. This recording should be banned for hurting my heart not just my ears.

Chris Botti is such a classy dude and it's quite apparent that he is smitten with Sy... How sweet and lovely to see people enjoying one another as well as entertaining others. By the way, I was quite fortunate to see Chris twice in Cleveland Ohio; Once downtown and the other in a park. He was flawless in each performance. Bravo blue eye soul brother Botti. What pure talent!!! Chris is the consummate musician. And Sy Smith is an absolutely stunning singer--range, tone, assurance, passion, she has it all. Oh, yeah, and the drummer isn't bad either!
I just saw Chris last night in Westhampton Beach, NY and Sy sang "Look of Love". She sang her heart out!! The band was different but they were all very talented especially the drummer.
