We're playing this for my band. It sounds great from wherever you got it. When we play it, considering we've only played it twice, it sounds like something is dying. While standing next to a train wreck. With someone scratching their nails on a chalkboard into a microphone that is right next to a speaker.
My band got to sight read this piece today in class and the 1st clarinet part is amazing and the solo is so much fun to play! People also got to geek out because Lord Of The Rings....
My band is playing this for our spring concert and hell we played it at our after school practice today for the first time as a whole band and I got so lost. Flute player here and man I couldn't even follow the tempos
I played this piece in 2013❤️ My small band from Alaska, Fairbanks had competed over Wisconsin and California high school bands at Carnegie Hall in New York I was a sophomore at the time in 2013 We actually won gold against them all
I actually forgot about that part. We haven't played it in so long. We've got a small band. We had to bring in our 8th graders to make for it, actually. lol. They're good players, though. Next year, our band is going to be a lot larger because since our current band director started, less kids quit. Anyway, we've only got two 1st Trumpets. They are both excellent players. Since we learned it, they haven't had a problem. I'm sure it'll be the same for you, too, though.
Hey! Can I ask for the credits to be put in the description? They're really good so I think it'd be pretty nice to know who's playing and who's conducting.
@zackman0010 haha good luck to yall(: my band is going to start playing it soon as an end of the year thing and prob for our competition later in the year
Thanks. We sound better now. We managed to get to the end without sounding too bad. lol. Unfortunately, we had to cut out a lot of it because of time issues. We skipped from the end of measure 36 to the beginning of measure 155. About 1:49 to 6:11 on the video. That's everything from Shadowfax to right before Hobbits on the music sheet.
Okay so, I am a lord of the rings nerd, freak and everything and play much of the real music from the movies. This is not Lord of the Rings, non of this music is from the movies at all nor do they sound anything close to it. I don't understand unless this is the music from the Hobbit but i am almost positive non of this music is from the Hobbit wither. Or from the cartoon version of the Hobbit. Im not bad talking the piece i absolutely love the arrangement but it is not Lord of the Rings.
+Brendan Murphy This is a symphony based on themes from the novel by J.R.R. Tolkien. It was written long before the movies premiered and doesnt really have anything to do with the movie "The Lord of the Rings" (except being based on the same story).
Actually thats extremely interesting haha! I appreciate the explanation of that! it just threw me off because I believe my old high school band is playing that piece because nobody recognizes it. But it is an absolutely beautiful piece of music. Thank you Tobius

This is an arrangement of an original symphony written by Mr. DeMeij in 1991 based on the series of novels. The movie came way later. But, valid question!
