Hey man, thank you very much for your comment! This is the kind of constructive criticism that I like to see here, and you make really solid points. I made this trailer over 3 years ago, and seeing it now you are absolutely right, I guess I relied more on using the more impactful scenes from a visual point of view, but didn't put that much attention to the overall plot of the trailer. I did try to create a narrative (the Enemy is coming, but our heroes will do anything to give Frodo a final chance to destroy the Ring), but maybe I could've played a lot more with creating a conflict that would provide that feeling of intrigue, as you said. Overall, I think my biggest mistake is not approaching it as if it was a trailer for a brand new movie no-one has ever seen, and instead I ended up making an "epic" version of a well-known movie. After all, as you said, these can be taken seriously because I make all these trailers for fun, but one day it would be nice to be able to work in a studio where they produce trailers for big movies, so everything is useful towards improving myself and becoming better at making these. Yes, I completely agree! I love how you can do virtually anything you want with the editing, you can save bad movies in editing, you can change the tone of a movie completely just with the magic of editing. If you are interested, I did a project for school in which I tried to make 5 trailers of the same movie (Star Wars Episode III), but every trailer was intended to have a different genre (I did a modern one, a political drama, a dark thriller, a romance and an action comedy). When I was making the trailer I thought that even though Sauron is the great enemy, the Witch King feels more like a "real" threat, because we see him and the heroes battle him and all, so I opted for using him as the antaognist throughout the trailer for that reason. Sauron is more like a presence, in fact we never see him, only the eye in the tower, so I decided to focus more on the Witch King, because we know him from the previous movies as well and he feels more real as I said. I hope that makes sense :D

I agree, it has become a stupid trend because they care more about the money than they do about the product... to be honest, the Hobbit could have easily been one movie but they had to stretch it to 3 and I still don't know why haha but yeah, I agree, they left out some important parts as you mention, or even Tom Bombadil in the Fellowship of the Ring, so maybe they should have split every book in two movies? haha

Héctor Moreno Ferrando Actually, I was okay with the original plan of stretching The Hobbit into two movies. My main problem was adding stuff that wasn’t there while not including stuff that was there. You don’t get to include a very scandalous romance between Tauriel and Kili while at the same time not include the enchanted river scene, my favorite scene from The Hobbit. There is zero excuse for “not enough time” or “too long” for not including canonical scenes if you add non-canonical scenes As for Lord of the Rings, I think movie 1 can just focus on the hobbits’ life and include Tom Bombadil and the horrific Barrow-wights before ending the movie when they get to Rivendell. Movie 2 can then be from Rivendell to when Boromir dies. Movie 3 would just be The Two Towers as we know it. Movie 4 would pick up from where The Two Towers end it and go up to Battle of Black Gate. Movie 5 would them be everything else including Scouring of the Shire. So in total, I would envision 5 movies.

@@mechadoggy I completely agree about the Hobbit, two movies could have been good, but they decided to stretch it too much... I can maybe understand adding Galadriel and Tauriel because if not for them there wouldn't be any women in all three movies, but some of the plot points seemed shoehorned to tie in with the LotR movies to be honest, with Legolas being the biggest of them haha I like your distribution of 5 movies for LotR, maybe the only problem I can see is that, after movie 4 and the big conclusion, movie 5 would feel like a 2 hour finale, with not so much weight to it, because the big villain was already defeated and the stakes wouldn't be as high... with LotR I can understand a lot of the changes they made from the books, and to be fair the movies turned out great, but it's a pitty that they couldn't manage that with the Hobbit... and now let's see what they do on the Amazon show, to be honest I would really like it if it was a format similar to Black Mirror, with every episode a different story from the first and second ages, taken rom the appendices or the Silmarillion, what do you think? :D
