Do not feel guilty for not commenting much. Your raptness in the story is reaction enough. And here's a little secret most reactors don't know: Many of us here watching this with you are Tolkien nerds. We don't need your analysis, we're here to watch you be awed and amazed at the story Peter Jackson has wrought from Tolkien's writings.

Exactly. Endless talking for the sake of talking only means you a out on detail / soaking in the experience. I’d rather witness the subtlety and nuance of facial expressions and the very occasional comment on this masterpiece - like getting to experience it for the first time again - than someone who misses half of it because they can’t shut up and watch.

No, Dude, you are one of the best reactors I have watched so far. A lot will never shut up or quit trying to be funny and cute long enough to pay any attention to the films they watch. They blab right over important dialogue and miss significant moments because they just can’t or won’t turn off. You are really great at commenting in just the right places, in just the right amount. Some can manage to talk and listen… It really depends on the density of the film subject, and how well it lays out information. The Harry Potter movies are a good example of an adaptation of a book that does not explain things well. If you have read the books, it’s easy to follow along, but very difficult if you have not. I have personally witnessed this in action with various friends of mine. They have so many questions afterwards or even during, because things happen with no buildup or explanation. In the case of LotR, it is a bit of both, but mostly the pure density of the story. They still leave out much of the finer detail in the direct text, and include none of the info from the indexes or other works from Tolkien. Plus… Many reactors are on Patreon, as they can’t monetize their videos, and a full reaction with only sporadic commentary from the reactor would get boring. Unfortunately that hinders their understanding of dense works like LotR unless they are decently genre savvy.

@@marine6680 Yeah, some can, but they are few and far between. I am speaking of the ones who deliberately run their mouths on and on to the detriment of any enjoyment or information they or their audience might glean by being a bit quieter and actually listening and watching the film, especially when it’s a dense and complex story like Lord of the Rings. Makes you wonder if they ever read! Or they might do a bit of research on characters and names and who is who before they even start. They try to be cute and clever for no reason, because they’re not.

You are the first reactor of whom has understood that the rope untied itself. The elves wouldn’t consider their creations as being magical. They simply create items that can be the best version of that item as can be. So a rope will hold a knot strong as long as you need it to, but come loose easily when needed. Cloaks will keep you protected from the weather, cool in the heat, and warm in the cold, and they will also hide you from the sight of those whom you would not wish to be seen. Stuff like that.

This harkens to the days of Finrod Felagund and even Lùthien and Beren shape shifting into orc/bat etc

15:05 Aragorn is a ranger. Which in many fantasy settings mean they are excellent at hunting, tracking, etc. Though I think it could mean something slightly more significant in Tolkien's work. I also believe that he, being a Dunedain, means he possesses some elf-like abilities like their keen senses. It looks supernatural to us, but in this case, Aragorn is almost literally reading the ground, and determining the events that happened through the imprints in the dirt in such an accurate way that he can tell you exactly what had happened. Feel free to correct me. I'm not a huge Tolkien lore buff

A little trivia: When Aragorn kicked the helmet, he actually broke his toe which is why he screamed like that. But the pain came across as emotion and they kept it. The Balrog is one of the henchmen of Melkor/Morgoth...Sauron's mentor/master from "The Silmarillion". So you think Sauron is powerful, he's the general of the real baddy from a long time ago. Legolas recognized the balrog in the book when it was first approaching them in the Mines of Moria and he was freaking the f*ck out. "AI AI A BALROG HAS COME!" he's old enough to know exactly how bad that was.

It’s generally understood that yes Gandalf died on the mountaintop fighting the balrog. But he was resurrected (his angelic spirit was re-injected into the body and he was resuscitated, but more powerful than before.) Further detail from the books, an eagle once again showed up to rescue him from the mountain, and he was flown to Galadriel in Lothlorien to recuperate and get his new white threads. In fact he arrived the day after the Fellowship left Galadriel; so as they were still paddling down the river in the first movie Gandalf had arrived in Lothlorien. He then made his way to Rohan and Fangorn Forest, and he reunited with the white Rohan horse Shadowfax that he sometimes used.

Why was Grima allowed to leave unharmed? In the books it was actually the king’s idea. Basically he told him that he could betray his new master Saruman by staying and serving his people by giving them information, and then be able to live in honor again… Or he could leave and run to Saruman and show his true nature as being without honor. You can see what his choice was…

It should be remembered that a Balrog and a Wizard are both the same 'order' of Being, namely 'Maiar'. In fact the Balrog of Moria and Gandalf are both Maia of Fire, so to speak. Gandalf names Flame of Udun as the Balrog and Servant of the Fires of Arnor is Gandalf. A Balrog is a Maiar that full reveals his power in wrath. Gandalf keeps his power cloaked, fittingly enough, and expresses his 'Fire Spirit' through 'enkindling the hearts and courage of Free Peoples''. A more modest, but equally potent, manifestation of 'Fire'.

Finally, someone asking how Aragorn knew how to interpret the meaning of the markings in the field of battle. In most D&D games, which the earliest of which drew inspiration from the works of Tolkien, there was a character class called the ranger. One of their chief attributes is being expert trackers; they can interpret the marks left by others to determine what they have done. Thus, Aragorn could see the marks left by Merry and Pippin's attempts to escape and extrapolate meaning from the marks. Aside from D&D, the traits inherent to a ranger bled into the real world, with the first unit of US Army Rangers being established in 1952, three years after Return of the King was published, and became renowned trackers. I've also got to be honest: there is so much lore and backstory to pretty much every character and place in these books that it is impossible to quickly explain anything that happens. One thing you noticed was that the elven rope was hurting Gollum. Tolkien's works are replete with examples as to how a character's physical form is influenced by their nature. Thus the evil part of Gollum reacted negatively with the good in the elven-infused rope. The idea was that, if a bad person became genuinely good, their forms would adapt to the change and things they couldn't previously tolerate, like Gollum couldn't eat the lembas in the swamp, would become at least tolerable to them. This was also seen in Sauron himself, who is said to have genuinely repented from his evil deeds, allowing him to take on a fair visage when he was manifest, but he lost the ability to look like a good guy after causing the destruction of Numenor, where the best of mankind had been taken, given long lives (they were Aragorn's ancestors), as a reqard for helping defeat Sauron's boss, Melkor. Finally, and it has to be said, it is near impossible to explain the smallest event in the trilogy, due to the sheer amount of lore behind everything, everyone, and every p[lace. Tolkien initially wrote stories to give some background to the languages he developed, and never expected others to be interested in his work. Enough of it was published, however, to generate that interest, particularly after The Hobbit was released, so that when LOTR was released, he had decades of background information to inform everything he wrote about. I've been reading his most popular works in a yearly basis for decades, and still believe I've only scratched the surface of everything he has written. So don;t feel bad if something is hard to understand. Jackson did a great job, but it would have been impossible to include everything you needed to know. The trilogy would have had to be expanded to three times it's length to meet that need.

Aragorn wears on his index finger the Ring of Barahir, one of the oldest heirlooms of Men, dating from the First Age of Middle-earth. You can read more about it in the Appendices following the text of ROTK, or in The Silmarillion. Barahir was the father of Beren and the ancestor of Elrond and the Kings of Numenor. It is a token of his kinship with Isildur and the Kings of Arnor.

Why did Aragorn hold the king back, from killing Grima Wormtongue? Well, it is a perfect representation of Tolkien's phylosophy: Noone is irredeemably evil. Noone is completely lost. Tolkien wrote once, about that topic, that the Orcs would have been the Dark Lord's " ...greatest sins, abuses of his highest privilege, and would be creatures begotten of sin, and naturally bad. (I nearly wrote 'irredeemably bad'; but that would be going too far. Because by accepting or tolerating their making - necessary to their actual existence - even Orcs would become part of the world, which is god's and ultimately good.)"... end of quote You can find traces of this philosopy in the Fellowship of the Ring, as well. Do you remember the moment when Frodo saw Gollum, for the first time? Following the fellowship towards the dark tunnels of Moria. The Hobbit told Gandalf it would have been a pity that Bilbo didn't kill Gollum when he had the chance. And Gandalf replied "It is pity that stayed Bilbo's hand. Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. Even the very wise can not see all ends. My heart tells me Gollum has some part to play in this, for good or evil...before this is over." Tolkien's core philosophy: noone is irredeemable...all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

So many people want to know why Gandalf doesn't use much wizardry or show his power more fully; or why Elrond didn't force Isildur to throw the ring into the fire. J.R.R. Tolkien made it very plain when interviewed that above all he detested coercion. Every character had to make his own decisions and take his own action...and live with the consequences.

@Makkaru112 Год назад
Exactly. But the mount doom scene wasn’t even in the books and confused so many viewers. The book version was way cooler and hit home deeper and heavier. 🌼The movies are masterpieces but they do Isildur some injustice. In the books, while he does secumb to the seduction of the ring, he spends his time being a fair ruler who practically gave some power away instead of being power hungry. He comes to realize that he is not powerful enough to truly bend the ring to his will. That it will eventually overcome him. Isildur resolves to give the ring to Elrond but is killed on the way to Rivendel. It's a tragic story of a man that tries to right his wrong but ultimately fails. In the books isildur literally repented and was about to bring the ring to Rivendell and apologize as he recognized it was beyond him even for a great numenorean connected to the faithful line of the mighty Elendil

The song that Eowyn sings at Theodred's funeral is in Anglo-Saxon, or Old English. T2T diverges more from Tolkien's story than the other two movies, but this is one place where the movie is superior to the book. In the book, the action for once moves faster than the movie, and Theodred's death is glossed over. The Rohirrim of the book speak a different language than the Westron spoken by the other Men of the West. Tolkien translates the Westron into English, but the language of the Rohirrim is represented by Anglo-Saxon (their leaders such as Theoden and Eomer can also speak Westron). Tolkien was probably the leading scholar of Anglo-Saxon of his generation, so you can be sure that Eowyn's song is accurate!

Ok second reactor I’ve seen to think Aragorn is psychic! What you’re seeing is an old movie trope from the Westerns, when a cowboy or an Indian scout would put their ear to the ground to listen to bad guys hoofing it in the distance; and look for prints and disturbances in the soil or flora to track the movements of someone they’re looking for. It’s called tracking; he’s a skilled tracker.

Gondor is only half of what used to be a united kingdom. The north half, Arnor, has fallen into ruin and desolation as we see in _Fellowship',_ like where Boromir died with all those structures and statues is the ruins of an Arnorian trading post; Weathertop where the Ringwraiths stabbed Frodo was a defense tower. Aragorn is theoretically the king of Arnor, but there's no kingdom left to run. And by extension a viable heir to its brother-kingdom Gondor, which is a functioning nation that has no king.

Peter Jackson chose to make the title specifically refer to Orthanc (Saruman's tower at Isengard) and Barad-dûr (the Black Tower of Sauron in Mordor); however, Tolkien was not entirely clear on which two towers were referred to as there are two other towers important to the story. At one point he even said that the interpretation was up to the reader. Tolkien intended The Lord of the Rings to be a single book, but publications costs forced him to split it into three volumes. The titles were forced on him by the publisher.

In the books we don't really get to see Gollum's psychology, he says "us" and "we" a lot but that's just as much him being 500 years old living on his own who doesn't know how to talk to the young kids as it is him being actually crazy. It's not so much that he's split-personality in the book in our modern sense as it is him being a pathetic self-obsessed old weirdo who can't master his own will, let alone take responsibility for it. But Sam _does_ comment that Gollum seems to have two modes, "Stinker" and "Slinker" and when talking to him you never know if he's gonna slink off and run away from your question or if he's gonna bite back outta nowhere with something vile. When adapting the story, Peter, Fran, and Phyllipa decided to lean in on the "Slinker VS Stinker" take on the character as a way to let us in on Gollum's internal struggle, rather than making him just a flip-floppy asshole. The book is more naturalistic with its characters where the movie decided to in some ways simplify characters (or in Gollum's case, _split_ characters) so that they could go _deeper_ into what they really stand for. I like both for different reasons.

The instrument you may be loving a lot isn’t a violin! It’s a Nordic instrument called the Hardanger fiddle! (Norwegian: hardingfele) is a traditional stringed instrument considered to be the national instrument of Norway. In modern designs, this type of fiddle is very similar to the violin, though with eight or nine strings (rather than four as on a standard violin) and thinner wood. The F-holes of the Hardanger fiddle are distinctive, oftentimes with a more “sunken” appearance, and generally straighter edges (unlike the frilly, swirly F-holes of a violin). Four of the strings are strung and played like a violin, while the rest, named understrings or sympathetic strings, resonate under the influence of the other four. These extra strings are tuned and secured with extra pegs at the top of the scroll, effectively doubling the length of a Hardingfele scroll when compared to a violin. The sympathetic strings, once fastened to their pegs, are funneled through a “hollow” constructed fingerboard, which is built differently than a violin’s, being slightly higher and thicker to allow for these extra strings. The resonant strings lay on the center of the special bridge, attached to extra hooks (or fine-tuners) on the tailpiece. Carved out within the center of the bridge is a smaller secondary “bridge”, or opening, designed specifically for these resonant strings to pass through. This is where the resonance is picked up and reverberated; as notes are played, the vibrations are sent through the bridge, where the sympathetics echo those notes. • The Hardingfele’s bridge is unique compared to other bowed instruments. It is somewhat taller and wider, resulting in the strings being slightly lower and farther apart; this allows for the easy execution of double-stops (playing of two strings at once). A similar technique is seen in some American old-time and bluegrass fiddlers, who intentionally move their bridge back a few millimetres closer to the tailpiece, for better double-stops. The hardingfele is used mainly in the southwest part of Norway, whereas the ordinary violin (called flatfele, 'flat fiddle', or vanlig fele, 'common fiddle') is found elsewhere. The hardingfele is used for dancing, accompanied by rhythmic loud foot stomping. It was also traditional for the fiddler to lead the bridal procession to the church. The instrument is often highly decorated, with a carved animal (usually a dragon or the Lion of Norway) or a carved woman's head as part of the scroll at the top of the pegbox, extensive mother of pearl inlay on the tailpiece and fingerboard, and black ink decorations called 'rosing' on the body of the instrument. Sometimes pieces of bone are used to decorate the pegs and the edges of the instrument. The earliest known example of the hardingfele is from 1651, made by Ole Jonsen Jaastad in Hardanger, Norway. Originally, the instrument had a rounder, narrower body. Around the year 1850, the modern layout with a body much like the violin became the norm.

Gandalf is basically an angel sent by the god of Middle Earth to help the people fight evil. All the wizards are angels. (There are 5 total) He died of his wounds fighting the Balrog, but was sent back to continue his mission, and promoted to the leader of the wizards. Keep in mind, he is forbidden from using his full powers or reveal his divine nature to anyone in Middle Earth. The Balrog used to be an angel as well, and so is Sauron… They fell from grace when they joined Morgoth, basically a fallen archangel. There was a big war and Morgoth was defeated, but many of his servants hid. Sauron was his second in command during that first war. The world was originally flat, but the first war was so brutal that it curved the world. That is why the way to the Undying Lands where the elves first came from is called “The Straight Path”… it literally does not follow the curve of the earth. This is why Gandalf is forbidden from using his full power, he is capable of mass destruction on the order of nuclear weapons. Another being like Gandalf, but not as powerful raised a huge island from under the sea to be used as a great nation of honored man. (The first nation of Aragorn’s ancient ancestors, before Gondor was founded… The island was sunk during the war with Morgoth because he corrupted many of the people on the island, and they sided with him. The good ones left and eventually founded other nations like Gondor.)

It’s important to note that To some psychologists, Wormtongue serves as an archetypal sycophant. Tolkien scholars note that Tolkien based Wormtongue on the untrustworthy character Unferth in Beowulf. He is presumptive, behaving as if he already rules Rohan, and exemplifies lechery, as correctly guessed by Gandalf; he hopes to become rich, and to take Éowyn as the woman he desires. The name Gríma derives from the Old English or Icelandic word meaning "mask", "helmet" or "spectre" Tolkien scholars have noted that Wormtongue's interaction with Gandalf in Meduseld has an Old English counterpart in the epic poem Beowulf: the account is closely based on the hero Beowulf's dealings with Unferth in Heorot, where Unferth is King Hrothgar's "ambiguous" spokesman; Unferth is thoroughly discredited by Beowulf, as Wormtongue is by Gandalf. The critic Charles W. Nelson describes Wormtongue's attitude as an example of presumption, behaving "as if he were already on the throne" of Rohan. Nelson notes that Richard Purtill suggests that Tolkien is intentionally embodying the seven deadly sins in his characters. He quotes from one of Tolkien's letters to this effect: "the encouragement of good morals in this real world, by the ancient device of exemplifying them in unfamiliar embodiments, that may tend to 'bring them home.'" Clark writes that Dwarves exemplify greed, Men pride, Elves envy, Ents sloth, Hobbits gluttony, Orcs anger, and Wormtongue lechery. That lechery is, Nelson notes, correctly guessed by Gandalf: that he would gain a large share in Meduseld's treasure, and Éowyn's hand in marriage, "on whose person Grima had long cast lecherous eyes and lascivious looks", and indeed in Éomer's words that Grima had "haunted her steps". in this case Elves envy was eventually what became of them because they cannot die in the same way Men do as death was their gift from Eru Îlluvatar! Mainly to allow their Fëa(spirit) to go beyond the circles of the world (halls of Eru which those of Rohan and Númenor call the “Golden Halls Of Their Fathers, Of Whom Of Mighty Company”)❤️ many if not all don’t know that. Even the VALAR and Maiar themselves became envious of the gift of an Men. It was so their spirit can escape from Morgoth ever chasing after them and messing with their spirits. As they dealt with Morgoth for a long time. Some say even before Galadriel’s brother found the first men ever to walk the earth; their ancestors dealt with his terror and dread, which also lead to him warping them from the start to live shorter lives. They apparently were meant to be much longer lived! But yeah Númenoreans lived up to 500+ years each and Elronds Brother Elros lived beyond that as he was formally an elf like his brother. Not just any elf can do the switch. It’s all due to their ancestors.

The bond between he and his son is the same bond Thranduil has with Legolas. And the braid he wears is to honour his grandfather. I believe after his death braids became less common. A sort of respect thing I believe. Both his father and Grandfather lived in Doriath(Elu Thingol’s domain[Elwë], which was heartbea of middle earth; Aside from Gondolin which held this mantle until it’s secret location was given up by a tortured elf who was the son of a very important mother who was the sister of the high king Turgon). All on a landmass called Beleriand that sunk under the sea after a set of disastrous events that lead to many greater outcomes much later on in the legendarium. The Wizards: Thousands of years ago, 5 Maia (Immortal spirits; analogous to angels) were sent to Middle Earth to help people resist Sauron (who is also a Maia; arguably the most powerful) They took the physical form of Men and became the Wizards. They are there in a role of guidance, since they’re so powerful they aren’t allowed to use their full power for risk of doing more harm than good. When Maiar lose their physical form, it usually takes a long time for them to be able to take another (Like Sauron, who put most of his power into the ring) Since Saruman abandoned his role, Gandalf was re-embodied and sent back to be his replacement. Gandalf in fact is the only Wizard who stayed true to his purpose and didn’t become corrupted or distracted.

It should be remembered that a Balrog and a Wizard are both the same 'order' of Being, namely 'Maiar'. In fact the Balrog of Moria and Gandalf are both Maia of Fire, so to speak. Gandalf names 'Flame of Udun' as the Balrog and 'Servant of the Fires of Arnor' is Gandalf.
@EpicNinjaShiro
@EpicNinjaShiro Год назад
As some others have mentioned, Gandalf is effectively similar to an angel. The five wizards (white, grey, brown, and the two blue wizards that only were active in the 2nd age) were all given tasks in the same overall goal. They're also equivalent to the Balrog in rank (early Tolkien had them as creatures, later Tolkien had the Balrogs as an equivalent fallen angel). They were all placed into the world as old men. Gandalf died, but was sent back with a little boost unless I'm mistaken. There are other wizards and casters of magic among the peoples in the world, but those five specifically are Maiar. Balrogs and the 5 wizards are among the Maiar, who are all under a group of spiritual immortals that existed before Illuvitar created the world of Arda, of which Middle Earth is a continent.

Deeper: This knowledge will help make sense of the movies. Gandalf is the same species of being as the Balrogs/Sauron before twisted by Melkor[Morgoth]. They are all Maiar (primordial spirits). Gandalf named Olórin created by Eru’s Thought (extensions of Eru Îlluvatar himself whilst they had their own free will & individuality. He essentially got the chance to experience and study other parts of himself through this.) among the other Ainur before the Years of the Lamps roughly 9,000+ years before arriving in Middle-earth; In Valinor he was known as Olórin.(Remember though he formally existed before the world existed and his form becoming Gandalf hadn’t happened yet. He was sent to Middle-earth in human form around the year 1000 of the Third Age. So his many forms had different ages in length of existing. He’s very cool right! Could he get any cooler!? 😎❤️ Another thing is when he arrived in middle earth he was disguised as an elf & lived among them whilst they were unknowing & he became to be known as Mithrandir to the Quendi/Eldar❤️ He could have very well dwelled with the elves far earlier just do to his curiosity & simple desire to explore and be around the firstborn (TheElves) Gandalf The Grey/White Estimated at 15,000 years old (following his quote "300 lives of men, I have walked this earth"), It says that Gandalf was the wisest of the Maiar besides Melian herself. There were a lot of Maiar that were considered really great and powerful. However, there is a much longer answer. Like Sauron(former name is Mairon) & the other Istari (the order sent around the same time & of which he was appointed leader but he being who he is & a student of the Vala by the name Nienna & Lorien(Irmo). Gandalf was a Maiar, an angelic spirit created by Eru at the beginning of time and therefor one of the many Ainur who sang the world into being & Eru just helped their creation take shape and basically stated “behold YOUR creation” & basically what happens in that world goes sort of preordained as by that song eons ago so really only the ages after Dagor Dagorath will truly be an age that isn’t full of strife and sadness and longing. Also. These lamps are what were before even the two trees. These were Giant mountains but also like light houses but housing a great power but it may have also been where two special Maia lived that helped in the creation in the sun and moon after Melkor With eldrich terror Ungoliant killed the trees, so yea Arien is the Maia who basically exists with the sun and her brother and or lover of sorts is the one who wanders with and guides the moon.

It might be helpful to think of Gandalf as an angelic being (and the balrog as a demonic one.) Gandalf, Saruman, and the other wizards not shown in the films were sent to Middle Earth from Tolkien's equivalent to heaven, with specific missions. Gandalf "died" fighitng the balrog in the sense that he was sent back to Valinor (heaven) and from there back again to Middle Earth to complete his work. Elves have a similar ability, if they choose to use it. As for Gandalf "being Saruman," he just means that he has replaced Saruman as the head of the order of wizards, having shown himself worthy, and because Saruman, of course, having fallen into evil, and having already abdicated the role, calling himself (in the books) "Saruman of many colors."

So this has probably been explained already by now, but regarding why Gandalf was sent back "until his task is done," Gandalf is a sort of angelic, minor deity, who is one of five that were sent to Middle Earth around 2,000 years prior to hunt for Sauron and help the free peoples of Middle Earth stand against him. Those five were the wizards. The balrog killed his mortal body, but the chief god of Tolkien's world saw fit to return Gandalf to his corporeal form as the new white wizard. Once Sauron was defeated, the wizards who had stayed true to the quest--only Gandalf stays true--return to Valinor far to the west, where the gods live.

They’ve been aware of him for a very long time & have been fighting him almost as long as the elves did but with no help during those darker times before the sun and moon were even born into the world after melkor and Ungoliant killed the two trees of silver and gold in Valinor. By the time the Gondorians lost Eärnur the Anorian line of Elendil got their cheeks clapped so hard they were reduced to a lesser tribe who had lost a shit ton of status and a lot of symbols of their power like the Ring of Barahir or Narsil. The Gondorian Stewards, especially those like Denethor, looked down on their northern brethren as pretenders and foreigners. Aragorn not only had served in Gondor's army for a time but was chosen to carry on many of the ancient symbols of the line of Elendil like Barahir and reforging Narsil into Andúril. Throw in a fancy banner made by his elf GF and he had the symbols and treasures of a king. Denethor lighting himself on fire also contributed along with Faramir willingly surrendering his authority to Aragorn helped. An heirloom of the Ñoldor/ Vanyar(Galadriel and Finrod’s kin) But as I said, it's got SO much value. Makes me want to say something similar to what Gandalf said about the mithril vest that was more valuable than the shire itself. Hahaa And so ofc Aragorn for many reasons knows the history of that very ring he wears. I believe as it belonged to Galadriel’s brother, either she gave it to him or it made it down the line directly from Aragorn’s mighty ancestry.

gandalf died (his physical form) and was sent back when he said he is saruman, or rather saruman as he should have been, meaning the title "the white" and defender of good

The wizards are lesser gods forced into the form of old bodies. There's 5 of them all of their powers limited. Gandalf the Grey is 2nd strongest. Gandalf is the only one to stay on the mission of why he was sent always.

Not forced. They willingly took the shape. Maiar like the Valar are both Ainur and essentially are shapeshifters. Even in Valinor not many elves even got to see them! Crazy stuff. The Vanyar have a higher chance of interacting with them for many reasons.

Gandalf the White is a Resurrected Christ figure. He gave his life so good could triumph over evil and has returned to lead the "final battle of the Age". Had Saruman chosen to remain true to Light and Good, he would have stood in Gandalf the White's place.

No... Aragorn is a ranger & a tracker, like a hunter , theyre real world skills, ppl have done it for centuries....there are deer hunters, even today, who can look at footprints on the ground & say “ok...4 days ago a male deer stood here & he smelled a female deer on the wind.... after about 35 seconds, he walked 50 meters that way (tracker points east) & then the deer took a shit” ....there are actual real world ppl who can do exactly what aragorn did, its about footprints & seeing which direction they are facing & a ton of other factors....no offense, i was actually born in NYC, but have been in the american south for a long time, but yeah, some city ppl arent aware of these types of things...idk if u are but in ur last video u told the elijah wood story that took place in london, but, idk if thats where u live...anyway, ur reactions are a joy.

Eowyn's singing is very flawed and wasn't in the standard length cut for a reason. However the part of Theoden's mourning with the soundtrack is very good.

Not quite sure why you have subtitles on as you're British and they're speaking English? One day you will watch these films in a darkened room on a big screen without subtitles munching popcorn probably with your kids telling them they will like them and no they're not too old or too long lol.
