Song was written for his wife Jenna, who is featured in the "Jenna's version" video. Tyler always has one song on the album specifically for her. This video, however, is in reference to their previous album "Scaled and Icy", which was largely written after Covid hit and had a much different (more upbeat, pop) sound than their previous albums. It wasn't as well received by fans and critics as their previous album Trench. The video shows that despite all the work they did on that album, it was deemed by record execs (guys in suits at the end) as a miss. Also fitting that the next guy just walks up with a basic box - showing that many in the music industry don't put in nearly as much work but may still have success.
must be hard as an artist to put so much care into writing a song and then release it and have people call it a 'miss' and ignore the meaning and effort that went into it!
