The ever multi-talented Little Steven: actor, song writer, guitarist for Springsteen, Sirius radio show host for 'Little Steven's Underground Garage', and all around good guy!
It's a shame I've just discovered Steven by watching The Sopranos for the first time 20 years later it was launched, but I'm so glad I did it! Sil is a badass and Steven is such a great musician!!
Little Steven is a national treasure. He is truly an awesome figure who not only is very comedic, but is a fantastic actor, a great songwriter, an excellent rock guitar player and a good singer but more importantly, hes an amazing philanthropist. The guy is truly a Renaissance man! We don't deserve someone this cool
Watching The Sopranos and suddenly the character turns up the radio and I was completely knocked out by this song! How I missed this from Little Stephen is beyond me but what a nice surprise! Thanks Sopranos!
In season 5 when Tony was about to try and have sex with Aidriana, he asks about the band playing. It was Little Steven and the Lost Boys. Adriana says "Sil been ragging on me all week to play them...their manager owes him money or something." LoL. God I miss that show.
Just watching the sopranos for the first time. Every episode ends with a song. Well when Affection came on me and my buddy said to each who the fuck is this its gold. You know one of those songs you adore instanty. The credit said the Lost Boys. Well we both didnt know Little Steven was in this group until we looked it up.
One of the many amazing things about The Sopranos even to this day when i hear a song on the radio that featured on the show it instantly reminds me of Tony Soprano and the scene the song featured on the show. James Gandolfini was such a good actor
A little fact that you may not know - Bruce was his best man, Little Richard performed the ceremony and Percy Sledge sang ''When a man loves a woman'' as they walked down the aisle. Not a bad line up.
Trash and vaudeville Tight dresses and painted faces It's time to free the lions From the circus cages Jaded baby Come whisper in my ear Better come closer 'cause The music is loud here I'm the monkey that you've always been afraid of I'm the spirit that haunts your dreams Deep inside Don't you have a little bit of sympathy Don't you want to Give me some affection Why is it so hard Don't you get tired Same smilin' faces Don't you get a little bit lonely Hiding in crowded places Don't trust the stranger You should know better But this heart of darkness Can be your shelter I ain't rich enough I really don't belong here I don't want to meet your mommy and daddy I ain't good lookin' but you get used to it like I did Don't you want to Give me some affection Why is it so hard
Back room - The Bing. This comes on over the speaker. Tony: "Good song. Who is that"? Sil (counting money). "Eeehhh, I don't know. Some fuckin' douchebag". Both laugh.
samath - in real life it was steve buscemi who chucked it because the actress that played gloria couldnt do it accurately lol thats why gandolfini turns around and smiles haha
@@idzoavitsi4211 So she couldn't throw like a boy? I suspected as much. I wonder if they got the shot in one take. I noticed that the steak left a slight grease stain on the back of Tony's shirt. If Gandolfini had to reshoot the scene more than once, does that mean that he needed several shirts? I also noticed that when Gloria dropped the plate on the table, that she dropped it so hard that the plate accidentally broke. She was in the heat of the moment. Great acting by everyone.
Season 3 episode 12...hotel scene. Gloria dancing to this song. The fact that it's Silvio's/Little Steven's song is a great inside joke by David Chase. Sopranos forever baby!
the gloria scene and then at that end of that episode where phil drives off and then cuts to the credits and silvio sings “i’m the monkey that you’ve always been afraid of…” pre chorus is an epic music needle drop !
I heard this song on the Sopranos and thought 'this is one of those really famous songs I've heard a million times but never knew the name of'...but now I find out that not only is it by Silvio, but this track was actually NEVER released, the album it was made for never got put out.
I thought it was Rolling Stones. I was wondering how did I miss this one... Then wikipedia helped me out! "Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in"!!!!
Streaming Sopranos yet again. Great music in many episodes. (Had to look this one up and accidently typed in Lost Boyz. What? HIp hop?!) Thought this was Stones like a few others did; love it!! Lots of great music throughout the seasons. Grateful for the series and James Gandolfini's portrayal of Tony. Thank you for uploading the song:)

I remember seeing him the summer after Springsteen was in Cleveland for his Born in the USA tour that Steven skipped. Awesome show from an awesome person. Got to meet him one of the nicest people you will ever meet!!
Yeah, it definitely sounds like Keith Richards and I was surprised to find out this was Silvio aka Steve. But, seriously, I would love to hear an E-Street band version of this song with a big man sax solo mixed in somewhere...
excellent song. why hasn't he released the album yet? A lot of people who just know him as Silvio from the Sopranos would have the opportunity to find out what a fantastic musician he was and is. Little Steven is a wonderful, eclectic character. As a musician Steven van Zandt has never received the attention he deserves
Absolutely could've been a great Stones song or a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers classic. But, we got something far better with a Silvio Dante Hot Rock!
Of all of Tony's random flings, Gloria was my favorite and had to be the only one worth the trouble. If she wasn't a total maniac that is. And what a sexy song for that scene.
Me and a friend used to talk about driving across the US and playing music suitable to each state as we drove. This one would definitely blasting on the stereo in New Jersey, along with stuff by the Boss and the E Street Band.
This would fit right in on one of Keith's solo records. Such a great riff. I'm the quintessential non-dancing white man, but this one makes even me want to shake something. Lol.
