Yep. I always thought Jason should have been cast as Jim Morrison for The Doors movie. When they cast Val Kilmer, I thought it was a huge travesty...but he didn't do too badly, after all.
David toyed with Michael’s mind so much that when starr tried to tell him it was blood, why would Michael believed starr was telling the truth. David is a genius.
@@brandonbates9259 uggghhhh that’s a tie between them two. Alonzo was planning jakes downfall for over a week remember! while david was playing mind games the night he brung Michael into the cave.
I was 10 in 1987 and I remember me and my bro getting this film and other films from the video shop at the time, which I loved going in and seeing all the films you could rent out....there's nothing like that feeling!! Now you can buy it in a second... kinda not the same anymore! As getting a video tape from the video shop and the trip there to get it was great in itself etc... it was exciting as a kid.... same with music albums. ......Although I love it now getting music I waited 20 years to find in a second.... but there was something magical about that time!! Things seem to have more meaning and you also appreciated the artwork of a video or album you could hold in your hand not on a comp etc. most kids will never understand any of this stuff today! Yes I know sound like an old fart LOL!!
+oomoonbeam I share that feeling going to the video store browsing the shelves, sometimes the movie you want is out, you either come back another time or have it reserved. The only part I didn't like about renting was having to return it, getting the late fees a few times. And remember, "Please be kind and rewind!". Now everything is watchable online. You can even just watch your favorite scenes here on youtube.
+oomoonbeam I still remember the "smell" that blockbusters anywhere in the country seemed to have and running around the movie or music store and seeing the latest music and movies.Almost everything is digital now.
Canceriansoul Yes I agree on the downers of the video shop! :o)...Also I always tryed to get the film Licence to drive as I was into Corey Haim... they never had it in!! Age 38 I bought it on dvd was bit disappointed but glad i got to see it at last!...Even though its took over 20 years to get it!.. so still looking online for all the other films i never got to see back them LOL
I never even noticed the psychology behind how they tricked him by screwing with the food first. I always thought they were just showing off/fucking with him.
Yeah, when I first saw this I thought they were just making fun of him. It was only when I watched it as an adult I realised what they were actually doing.
I remember watching this back in 1987 and thinking to myself that if I were in Michael's place I would've taken David up on his offer in a heartbeat, to be forever young, to sleep all day and party all night, to never have the responsibilities of adulthood or having to grow old, fuck yes I would've taken him up on that offer.
@@MiMi-ek6yw still taking human life regardless of if thier evil or not you would eventually lose yourself in the process slowly....I believe anyway...
Not gonna lie I’m pretty sad Michael didn’t officially join them. They really seemed to enjoy having him among them. And he really would’ve made a great addition to the crew.
@@naran_naran Blade who is known as The Day Walker would show David, his gang and their leader (The Head Vampire) of David and his gang who's boss because Blade would kill off those vampires very easily too. After David, his gang and their leader (The Head Vampire) of David and his gang of vampires are slain The Frog Brothers will join Blade in order to help him hunt down and kill all the vampires that are still in Santa Carla.
My all time favourite film hands down. I can quote this movie verbatim. This and the original 'Salem's Lot are in my opinion the two best vampire flicks ever made. I loved the sunken hotel/sea cave that was their lair and the Morrison poster just adds to the surrealism. So cool!
Max wanted Michael into the family as he wanted lucy and she wouldn't refuse if he joined. Star was David's first bite (I assume the first time Star ditched Michael) and second time tricking him into the gang and I think that's Max's blood they are drinking since vampires have a pyramid scheme since Michael didn't become normal when David died. Love this film, got a replica leather jacket of dwaynes with the leopard on it
Great film. Actually very well made. I love the use of superimposing shots montage after he drinks the blood. Those visuals combined with music is just one of many examples that a lot of care was taken in the making of this movie to give a very stylish and atmospheric mood. Joel Schumacher was a really good director. It’s just too bad he’s often associated with the terrible Batman movies he made.
The transition to Morrison's iconic image implied three things. 1. Micheal's fate was sealed 2. Jim Morrison was a vampire. 3. Morrison and Michael were both tricked by the devil's deception which led to their demise.
J.patric looks identical to j. Morrison and that scene is 1 of the best in movie history ...they don't make them like they used too! Classic Rip Jim gone. But never forgotten
Michael drinks davids blood thats how he becomes a vampire cause later in film star says to Michael "you drank Davids blood" so drinking vampire blood turns him into a vampire(correct me if im wrong)
@@diesirae16 He would have to actually kill a person to become a full vampire, And you find out at the end, That it was really Max's blood he drank, Not David's, But I am one who personally likes to believe it was David's blood lol
+ProxyBlueX He actually said "you're all right Marco" , English subtitles proved that, which backs up my original theory of the guys convincing David that the hallucination joint would trick Michael into drinking the blood, instead of Star making him his first.
I've always wondered if David was hypnotizing Michael to see the maggots and worms or if it was just Michael's own imagination getting the best of him in the dark.
David was deliberately confusing him so that he would drink the "wine", not believing Star when she told him the truth. Masterful and so much thought was put into this movie. Plus Kiefer just nailed it as the leader, as did Michael, as did Sam and his mother and their grandad and on and on and on :)
there only noodles Michael haha....what does David whisper to Marco? sounds like go get the wine so David drinks his own blood here then convinces Michael to drink it. David later told Michael. my blood is running through your veins so this is David getting a buzz off his own blood ha. I love this movie..,u all ever feel like u want the characters to be like that in real life? David and Michael are old dudes now, u love there characters so much u want them to be like that for real. the vampire who starts the chanting Michael Michael is dead too blond guy 02:38..on our left...a few ppl are dead. max, grandpa, Sam, Joel Schumacher the director
I had a dream like this scene last week. When I saw this when I was a kid, it made me so upset for Michael. Terrible feeling alone in a situation like that. So confusing. The craziest part is he was ashamed and tried to hide it and fix it himself like he had something to be ashamed of when he didn't have to feel that way. He had his little brother the whole time just didn't realize it was ok to depend on or turn to him sometimes. That's what family is for. And vampires...only have power over you if you let them in. Otherwise they aren't as scary and powerful as they try to make you think they are. They need you waaaaaay more than you need them
I’m curious why David initiated Michael so fast in the gang. Michael was supposed to be Stars first bite. How old was David and the gang, were they teens or have they lived for a long time ? Also since grandpa knew about vampires, was he a hunter in his prime? That would have been cool. Let me hear your theories. Go….
My theory was that at the beginning, yes Michael indeed was suppose to be Star's first kill. And when they first met, when Michael was chasing her, that was her way of luring her prey, but at the end, she couldn't bring herself to do it which is why she went back to David instead of luring Michael away to somewhere private. But once Max met Lucy around that same time, the boys most likely received new orders afterwards to turn both Michael and Sam into vampires instead, so that way Lucy has no way of saying no into turning and becoming the new mother of his boys. He even admits that was his plan at the end.
