This Thumbnail just reminded Me of when We used to go Romping (Riding) Moto-xers on the Peat Bog, back in 1987 one of the Guy's lost His Spanking New Yammy-YZ125, in one of the Trenches, We only just managed to Pull Him out... It's prob still Perfect even Now, what with How Well Peat Preserve things... "Hmm might go try to find it, who's in..!?"
I can see the older fellow and the young guy sittin in a wee pub. Hes a sayin I used to have a tractor like that one yer lookin for but it sank in the bog. The younger says where would that be and how much do you want fer it ? Well Im not sure where it is. I took the tyre off for the repair and by the time i got back to it ..well the tractor was a gone. And thats how this venture begun.

It obviously got stuck in that boggy soft spot years ago and he just said "fuck it I'll get to it later" and left it sit. As it sank, it tilted over and settled upside down. No mystery there.
At 11.04 into the video you can see the registration plate which looks like it starts with BZ which if it is BZ it would be a Northern Ireland registration issued in Co. Down by the Downpatrick licensing office somewhere between April 1930 and October 1946.
if u notice it couldnt hav been sunk in the mud. there was no rim on one side and they rolled the old dual out from somewhere on top of the ground. someone buried their old junker to get it out of site! no hood parts missing everywhere. Used to be pretty common to bury things out of site out of the way.
I find is 'interesting' that that nobody wants to talk about how it got 5 feet in the ground and that fact that the wheel that they rolled up to it matches the tractor. There's more to the story.
A turn key machine if I ever saw one! Garage kept, maintenance every year. I wish the story behind that was explained here, I admit I skipped a few minutes.
One word: suction. Why do they keep trying to yank it out when it's still buried in mud?! Unless you remove the mud from all sides and allow air to get underneath to break the seal, it's never coming out! I'm amazed they didn't break something or pull the tractor to shreds!
Nobody seems to want to talk about how it came to be 5 feet below the surface, missing a set of rear wheels, and UPSIDE DOWN!?!?!! This is far too interesting to leave us hangin'.......how about some follow-up videos of bringing it back to life?
the area was/is probably a "bog", if you leave anything there for more than a few hours, you can kiss it goodbye, the ground is so saturated, it will just eat it. either that or the owner decided to just bury it when it could no longer be repaired rather than pay to have it hauled off.

I have heard of that at one time, redundant machines were occasionally buried rather than scrapped. Since the ground here is boggy, this would probably have made sinking it the easiest way to dispose of it.
It was probably his favorite tractor or it’s rare and it just sank in the mud over the years and he probably didn’t have the money to have it dug out back then

Had this happened here in Minnesota, there would have been so many permits required in digging this up, they would have left the old thing in peace. Not sure the better the course.
A farmer in Wisconsin sunk his tractor in the swamp up to the doors it's sat there for at least 5 years multiple people try to get it out and finally someone got it out because the land was selling in the original owner said who if anyone can get it out they can have it so my uncle went out and Ashley is the one that got it out finally
They say they don't know, but seriously how could that happen without them knowing, yet they knew right where to look. That is some soft mucky soil. Its even on a hill. wow.
From the looks of that poor tractor I really think they should probably have just let it stay in rest wow recovering that thing and trying to restore that not going to be fun
Hott Puppy , That is very likely what happened, but how do you not notice a tractor sinking into the bog? Oh well, outa sight, outa mind. At least till a neighbor stopped by to borrow it to pull one of his from the clutches of the mud.
I really am NOT thinking that this is an Irish tractor because it has 2 back wheels on one side, and none on the other. There has to be an interesting story behind this! Now I am off to watch part 2 :-).
they are doing it the hard way..just find the edge of the tractor on each side,,use the bucket to open the ground all around it..the tractor will be free.
My Guess is they Had a Buzzsaw attachment, hooked up to it and the Vibration from the work going on with it Sunk it into the Peat. That or Possibly Godzilla Stepped on it, on His Way To Tokyo.
It would be real nice if they would tell the real reason it was buried instead of us guessing if it got married back in world war II they was trying to keep it from being melted down
I have heard people say that they are bogged down with work, but it seems that this (Fordson?) got bogged down with no work. It seems that the market for used tractors in this area is going down steadily. Run or not, I believe that I would have towed it to the shed when the mud got to the rims. What kind of video would that have made? I like your way better. Fresh oil and fuel, change the filters, air up the tires, and wipe off the steering wheel. Now get it to the field! Your operator seems to know his business. I thank you for letting me look over your shoulder.
The guy who has the tractor now traded some wheels for it, but he never got around to actually picking up the tractor and the old owner had it buried to be rid of it.
Ah yes my good pally. The Mrs. was fed up with the Mr. Workin on the damn thing all the damn time. She sent the Mr. to town one day for some ale and then while he was gone the Mrs. hitched up the oxen and hooked a rope around the old iron and the oxen drug it out to the slough and she buried it!
Here in New Zealand we prefer to retrieve our stuck vehicles from the mud while we can still see all 4 wheels not wait until the while vehicle is 6 foot under maybe this one was dead.
