is a short story about how greediness can change a person's thoughts and feelings towards loved ones. The idea of winning the lottery changes the married couple Ivan and Masha's attitudes and thoughts in a wrong way. There is no clear setting in this story but we can understand by Ivan's thoughts of travelling countries and he wants a property of his own that they live a poor life and their house is impoverished too.

A woman wins the lottery, rushes home, tells her husband about the win and tells him she's going on a trip and for him to start packing. He says, "Great, should I pack for the beach or the mountains?" "I don't care, just be out of here when I get back next week!"

? What do the following mean, please? Hasn't your ticket lapsed? No, I took the interest on Tuesday. If it is a lottery ticket, how can it lapse and what is the interest mentioned here.

It sounds like someone reading, though. The best way to read a story is to make it sound like you aren't reading, I think. After all, actors like Al Pacino and Gary Oldman are just reading a script in their movies. Ask yourself why it doesn't sound that way. Now compare how you read to how they do. That's the way to improve.

Are you serious? He's a volunteer. Clearly you have never tried to read orally for an audience without making a mistake. He did great.

Ha. That's irrelevant and the fallacy of false presumption. Your logic sucks. [You know nothing about me. I've read audio books for publication that are online now with thousands of views (under my real name).] It's not about me, though, stupid. Who cares if he's a 'volunteer'? My point still stands, and you are a snark, nasty a-hole, based on your response. The issue is: if you are going to do something, do it right; whether it is reading or commenting. @@eastsidesteve1

Chekhov wrote with too many annoying adjectives. No wonder Hemingway saw a niche by avoiding that weakness and wordiness.

They're always taking volunteers. You should show them how it is done. Or perhaps its just easier to complain about others.

That's snarky. I've done plenty of voice-overs and recorded songs as a vocalist on iTunes many times too; don't worry about me, dummy. It's not about me, though. Reread my comment and stay on topic if you can. Your logic sucks. @@eastsidesteve1

You should really be easier on your students.
