The Lotus Flower and how is has changed the life of 60,000 Women and Girls in Kurdistan

I recently had the privilege of recording a podcast with Taban Shoresh. Taban is the founder of the Lotus Flower charity. The Lotus Flower provides women and girls impacted by conflict with the tools they need to rebuild their lives. The Lotus Flower is based in both the UK and in Kurdistan, it was inspired out of Taban’s own experiences while helping provide aid for victims of the Islamic state. Taban was recently awarded an OBE for her work which has impacted the lives of over 60,000 people.
Additionally, Taban herself has a very inspiring story. She is a genocide survivor, she had miraculously escaped death on many occasions. And yet even with all these challenging experiences she has taken that energy and used it for good. Honestly there is so much more to this, but I just don’t want to give to much away, I want you all to listen to this podcast for yourselves. As a fellow Kurd it was a very proud moment for me to have Taban on the podcast, I consider it Kurdish representation at its finest. I can truly say Taban is one of the most inspiring people I have ever met. The world deserves to hear her story! #podcast #kurdistan #story #inspiration
