Man, when I raced in 70s and early 80s I had just about anything I wanted and 20 dollars was alot back then. I'd start out with 40 bucks in pocket cause where I worked pumpin gas and back then we did full service. While the gas was going in the tank we checked all fluids, tires, air pressure and cleaned all windows and checked wiperblades. I made 60 bucks a week which was 10 dollars a day just to pump gas. After a couple good race nights I had a wad of 20s in my pocket and to do 1 race for 100 that was same as a thousand but everybody was happy. Oz of weed was 10 or 15 bucks. 4th lb was 40 and it was dam good gonja mon. Frickin Wva homegrown, best in the eastern hemisphere and country...I wish people where I live now would race. They think a V6 2001 Camero is omg it's insanely fast and they go into some kind of fit speaking of it but they won't race me in my 4cylinder Pontiac Grand Am 2.2 ecotec cause they know I can outdrive em cause that's what I always tell em lol. Just the name of a vehicle will throw em into the fit and just cause I don't do the fit they get mad but I'm used to raw gas pump horsepower although I snuck a bottle in a an ol 63 Chev in the 70s bustn big block ass and I never blew my wee lil tiny 327 400+ 66 vette engine and it did look tiny under the hood of a big ol 63 Chev 2door Biscayne sedan with a 3 speed on the column standard trans 456 gears got me down a 8th or quarter mile road. I miss it but nobody wants to race where I live. Maybe if I do the fit with em they will lol. Dual exhaust, omg, they would probably try to race the big leagues although they won't race a frickin 04 Pontiac Dammed Am lol

Tried watching without chief n it’s just not the same. Sadly I no longer watch it, especially because it was appointment television and one of my favorite shows.🤷‍♂️

The real reason cheif isn’t on the show anymore is because of his sons. If you all remember he was married before Jackie & his ex wife told him that “he’d rather be street racing with his friends vs being home with his children.” Kind of like chucks wife used to say back in the first two seasons. Chief decided to step back from racing & got into other things so he can spend more time with his kids.

Do any of these guys run in NHRA? Seems to me if they're so fast we'd see them at the Nationals! But I do like the new show with real street cars. Especially Dominator. A real hotrod! The tuners and jeeps should be in they're own class. They're Not street rods no matter how fast they are! Sorry Farm truck. Bring back the farm truck not a store bought street rod. If you didn't build it, it's not a rod. If it's not streetable it's not a street rod.

The 405 is not the same without Big Chief. Chief's fun personality was what made the show. When Shawn Ellington abruptly left Chief it was a concerning moment. That's not a way to treat a friend. As Shawn "latched" onto Ryan Martin we saw what he was doing. Not cool. I hope Chief gets back with the guys without all the B.S. Chief started the group and should have the largest say-so about it...not Discovery or anyone else.

Yeah I like him for his racing abilities but has lost my respect. Let me explain why that is when he got famous he left his wife and kids. He then went out and found a girlfriend while being married from what I understand. I don’t agree with that at all. Have respect for your ex wife and your kids. Keep your thang in your pocket.

I like watching street outlaws now more than before simply because they are racing actual street cars.. the cars before were just race cars!! No interior, lexan glass, fiberglass or composite bodies.Just because they race them on the street doesn't make them "street cars" ,they are still trailer queens!! Now that they are in actual street cars they are finding out its not so easy!! & all the other racers like from New Orleans, Memphis, etc.. like to say they don't like Justin need to think that if it wasn't for the Discovery Channel going to Justin to make a show, they wouldn't be on TV making all that money & as far as the no prep kings go? I change the Channel when I see that come on.. I'm not saying I don't like the Memphis crew or the Mew Orleans crew, I just think they need to step back & think about why they are on TV. It's like now that they are on TV & making all That money then they don't like Justin & they finally got what they wanted, Justin gone & they are the stars now. I only watch the true street cars now & as soon as any of the NPK races come on my TV channel gets turned. I think it was a bunch of BS that they run him off the show!!
