To my knowledge they have decreased the damage but then gave it a different type of sharpness which increases the damage back to it's original state, and then they also gave it 60% armour penetration

I like it honestly. It feels like every addition to Minecraft's PVP for the last few years has been solely dedicated to adding survivability, and adding a new and easier way to kill people will make fighting feel a lot less tedious. I mean, I'm pretty sure that "situational and difficult 1-hit kill" is no worse than "fill your inventory with extra lives so you never die".

This is shaping up to be one of the game's best updates in years. My biggest issue with vanilla Minecraft is that you never have much incentive to explore your world thoroughly once you find all of the necessities. Sure, you may need to go find the occasional bit of redstone or lava, but once you get the best gear with the best enchantments, there's not much left for you to do. On top of that, there's no real incentive to do villager events since most players will only care about what loot those villagers have. So far, this update has not only added a new interesting structure to find, but that same structure offers never before seen loot, upgraded versions of existing loot, and loot chests that actually incentivize the player to go out and do raid events, since then they can receive Omen items that can then be used to get even better items from the trial chambers. It's not quite as robust as what Terraria has in terms of progression, but it is a step in the right direction that I hope Mojang expands upon in further updates.

The Ominous Bottles are also what replace the Bad Omen you get from killing Pillager Captains. You can only get low level versions from them and regular treasure vaults. The high level ones are only found in Ominous vaults. I imagine that this will change how raid farms will be made.

bad omen II changes how long you have the bad omen effect but not how long you have raid or trial omen. bad omen changes into trial omen or raid omen depending on where you are, if youre in a village it turns into raid omen for 30 seconds and after that time is up it starts a raid in trials it means you have trial omen for 15 minutes which is the time limit you have to activate all the trial spawners

Here's an idea for balancing the mace, Buff the Thorns enchantment. Thorns should now reflect a small percentage of melee damage taken, Scaling indefinitely and no longer capping off at four hearts. Wouldn't make a huge difference in most cases but would MASSIVELY discourage any attempt to go overkill with mutually assured destruction.

by the way, bad omen is a separate effect from trial omen. if you enter a trial with bad omen, the effect changes into trial omen and starts an ominous trial when the effect runs out

Interesting type of video, does have potential and is cool to use when going up against bosses in minecraft.

As soon as I learned about the changes to the Mace, I realized just how broken it was. Every smash attack counts as a critical hit. With Density 5, Feather Falling 4, and 2x Protection 4, you can fall from 41 blocks and attack a Warden. If you are successful, you one-shot it with over 500hp. If you fail, you only lose 7.6hp. A minuscule fall from 3 blocks is enough to deal 46.5hp. You can get much higher than that with a wind charge, passing 100hp at only 7.5 blocks. If Mojang doesn't change this, PvP will change drastically, and I'm not sure it will be in a good way. Funnily enough, shields might become even more powerful as the only answer to a mace attack, and crystal/bed/anchor/cart PvP could take a backseat. Does anyone know if wind charges stack with jump boost?

I feel like they could maybe put a cap on how much damage the mace can do without enchantments. Or reduce its regular stats slightly. Like it can be really good, but this feels a *little* game breaking lol

The Mace is overpowered in theory, but in practical usage I do not think there are going to be many scenarios where you are 30 blocks directly above the target you are in combat with, and even less where you land the hit. But it would be cool if, to balance out the critical attack, the opposing player could negate some of the Mace attack by timing their own opposing attack at the same time, sort of like how players can deflect a ghast’s fire charge.

Mace wither fights are funny to watch, but I'm more concerned about the fact that the death screen now says "You Passed Out!"

I feel like mace would ruin the use of swords and axes completely. Although there are some counters to the mace such as shields, shields are very easy to break and its easy to get hit with your back turned on them. Plus, if you have the enchantment, the mace will just keep jumping and hitting you until your shield breaks. A good method to escape this is probably pearling away but you can only have 16 of them in a stack. Imagine a fight where its just ppl pearling over and over again. If it runs out, then its really bad. This really encourages the use of mace over axe and sword which basically makes the mace the meta. I know there is a use of axe to disable shields with but the axe just serves that one purpose. What if the mace doesn't do more damage than a sword unless you jump from high enough to give a purpose to the sword. What if there's a direct counter to maces unlike pearls. I thought of breeze balls having a second feature that can be used to dodge in the horizontontal(to not make it too op) direction you are looking, such as a jett dash. I think this would be more reliable than pearls since you don't take damage and also have more stackability during a fight. It also activates instantly so you don't need more reaction time to use it unlike pearls. This would counter the mace completely and make the players resort to swords and shields if they wanna do damage. I wouldn't want a new weapon to be countered completely but this would be helpful when the enemy is eating, not moving, or just caught of guard. The weapon is op and I think it would def have a use with these changes. Thats just my idea.

kind of an unrelated note to the point of the video: i love how the mace model you made looks, but i have a few knitpicks. one: it looks odd when you hold it in the hand, like you're holding it straight up instead of at the usual angle you hold weapons and tools. two: i wish the item in the inventory kept the 2d sprite, similar to how a trident is 2d until you hold it in your hand. having a 3d model in the inventory for a weapon just looks kinda odd. if i can get my hands on the texture pack or just make my own mace model, i might try tweaking it myself

Weaving makes it so mobs killed with it on them makes them place a cobweb near them. It makes it so a splash version in a mob farm could make cobwebs easily renewable after finding one in an abandoned mineshaft or abandoned village.

I think the best way to nerf it without a direct nerf is to reset the Y value that the damage is based on when the player takes damage, and to decrease the range by 1, so not only are clutches a bit harder, bow hits and precise sword hits can reset their damage and reduce what you take. Also they should DEFINITELY nerf Density. It should only be +0.5/level, not 1
