thanks for sharing your obsession, I've been thinking about taking up embroidery for the dark half of the year. Btw I have my mother's stork scissors that she bought in Italy 50 years ago and my grandmother's thimbles that are even older.
Last month, I bought that same pair of bird scissors exactly for spellwork. It was one of those things - I had no need of new ones, hadn't seen an advertisement, don't really sew; just a sudden overwhelming urge to have bird scissors and to keep them on my person.
They have a cool history, the stork scissors were originally a clamp used by midwives for the umbilical cord after delivery, because the midwives often did needlework while waiting for the delivery it would get mixed in to their sewing kit and eventually evolved into scissors
