The Magicians is one of the most underrated shows out there right now. This is a show that gets better with each season. I'm a big fan of this show, but I remember season 1 didn't exactly blow me away. Season 2 was much better. And season 3 is one of the best seasons of TV I've ever seen. If you stick it through season 1, you're definitely in for a treat.

I hope you guys continue watching this. I stopped after the first episode but continued after seeing some gifs of it online and I don't regret it. I really hope you guys continue

I just can’t believe you hanged out a cliffhanger like that on the PILOT and you didn’t continue it’s insane. The clichés characters are clichés ON PURPOSE. Characters themselves make meta reference to that sometimes

I'm still struggling to comprehend why the Normies abandoned this show. It boasts a fantastic premise and a satisfying conclusion. The story is filled with magic and fantasy, yet it somehow manages to maintain a sense of realism. I was so invested in the show that I even subscribed to their Patreon, but unfortunately, my request was denied.

Can't believe you guys only watched just this episode. This show gets pretty wild.

I would honestly say that Magicians definitely would crack my top 10 shows. The show does very much have it's occasional cliche, but it definitely throws in it's own original storytelling to outweigh its flaw. Would highly recommend you continue watching it.

Normies beware of spoiler in reply to this below!!!! So episode 1 is a teenie tiny introduction to overall story. Yes it seems kind of formulaic/predictable at this point, I feel like its done intentionally for some reason to remind the audience of other shows/movies they love. But then the show delves deeper into its own world. Also- not surprised Chris didn't like it... it took 3 1/2 seasons for him to like AoS lol

Never clicked so fast! Hands down the best magical show. It *does* get deeper lol. The first season is a masterpiece. I think it's one of those shows that has something for everyone in it. Also Julia's story (Quentin's friend who got rejected from Brakebills) is in the second book but it happens concurrently with Quentin's story, so it's included in the first season of the show.

As someone who has watched S1 *14* times (and the other seasons on repeat) I would honestly be a patreon subscriber to see you guys react to S1-S5. It’s such an insane show from the writing, acting, special effects. This is without a doubt my #1 favorite show and has personally meant to so much to me. It IS NOT for everyone and that’s ok, but for those who enjoyed it week by week, in the words of Poppy Kline, “It was a crazy time.” 🥰

I sincerely hope Rana follows this show in her own private time. Anyone who loves magic will be deeply rewarded with this show. The characters are young adults with their own issues dealing with the consequences of magic as well.

I hope you guys do continue with the show. Shit gets crazy. There's definitely some stuff in it that you will not have seen in any other show. And yes, at the moment it's fairly cliché. That's because the whole thing is a deconstruction of Harry Potter and Narnia. It's setting up the clichés to subvert them, expand on them, and take them in different directions. But more than anything it's fun, while still retaining drama. It can be laugh-out-loud funny one minute, and then heartbreaking the next. And the series 3 episode "A Life In The Day" is, in my opinion, the best episode of television to have aired in 2018.

i wish they would come back and react to more episodes of this. It gets better every season and the twists are outrageous. this show also deals with dark topics yet it never felt too depressing. it’s such an underrated show

Magicians has become my fav show

"This show has a couple layers to it" Nahid you have no idea. It takes a bit to get past some of the cheesiness, but then this show turns into something completely different that I can't even describe. Not to mention it has some of the best character development I've seen since fucking Avatar

People compare it to Harry potter but it's more like if Chronicles of Narnia were a twisted horror. I'm not gonna lie tho, the first season is the weakest of them all, but it's still amazing.

This is actually one of the best shows, 1st season is a bit meh, good but not the best, but it only goes up and up from here.

Agents of Shield started off meh but look at it now...Don't judge so quickly - keep watching, it gets so much better later on.

Chelsea recommended I watch the pilot and I was intrigued by it enough that I continued watching. I've watched the first five episodes so far and I like it a lot. I definitely feel the show's reaction worthy, so I hope you guys decide to stick with it

Oh my god I wasn't ready for this

This is a great show and if you stick around you'll know why they make sure to mention a version of "this is not a kids show". It gets real very fast once you get past the funny dialogues, especially because each season only has 13 episodes. Oh, and I forgot you mentioned *stereotypes.* I can't say too much but they _really_ go to town on calling them out in the funniest and/or weirdest ways possible...

You all should have continued on. The Magicians seems like it's Harry Potter... then you find out it's Narnia with Opium in the air. Or as it was originally sold to me "Harry Potter contemplates suicide, goes to Hogwarts, finds Narnia"

So glad you guys did this show, I hope you continue it. The teenage angst gets a little wearisome occasionally but mostly it’s a cool story that keeps you on your toes and the characters are very well fleshed out

This is a series that really resonates with me. I first watched it when I was going through a very difficult time in my childhood, and I've rewatched it several times. I actually have a Fillory tattoo... So, yeah. I'm pretty excited.
