One of my favorite things about the book series was how, in a world full of fiction that idolizes youth and kids, it was a story about the heroism of growing up, acting your age, and taking responsibility. The opposite of all the usual magical stories about the wonders of childhood; it was all about, in a way, the wisdom of adulthood. And it was this season, and specifically, this scene, that really showed me that the show had not forgotten that.
@@sebastyann123 Book and show share little except for name and conclusions. Stories usually end the same way, but the path is much different. For example in books Fen is minor character, she kinda is replacement for Poppy. Josh is major player in the book. Benedict doesn't exist in show (Or if he does i forgot him). Asmodeous and all of Julia's friends doesn't exist. Plum who is besides the Quentin main character in Magician's Land doesn't even exist in the show. For all who are wondering books are worth it. You can watch the show and still enjoy the books without many spoilers.
Loved this ep. It really showed that Eliot and Q can really just spend the rest of their lives together and be completely ok with each other. However, I would have been PISSED if I spent by whole life trying to solve this puzzle just to find out that the reason it couldn't be solved was because the most important piece was missing. And the only way I find it is by having to bury my best friend/lover.
I felt that they were saying that the beauty of life is life itself and only after going through life ( love ,lose ,friendship, marriage ect.) you would find the missing piece
then you missed the point that wasn't what solved it. it was them living a lifetime together there through happiness and hardship THAT was how they displayed the beauty of life the gold tile was simply a metaphor for them solving it thats why no ONE person had ever solved it before
I didn't take it as the beauty of life is life itself. That man at the puzzle when they first arrived had a life but he also gave up and moved on because he was impatient. He wasn't living, he was wasting time. The beauty of life is living. It's hard work and perseverance. It's trying one more time even if you've already failed thousands. And it's learning to not take what you have for granted. To love as deeply as possible and not waste time with shame or regret because it's not what society would define as "normal". It's also grief and loss because they remind us to cherish the little things, they allow us to love deeper than we've ever loved because time is finite for all of us, and wasting it is throwing away the opportunity to experience the beauty of life to the fullest.
The hardest thing to do in this life is to live it. Though the part I would be most angry about it after spending my entire life solving the puzzles I had to give up the key to someone that just arrived.
after 4x05 : "Well hello, big plot (twist) development about season 3 mess" (- Probably true reason of why Eliot is not going with Q in the boat quest - Q post-reject + post-depression key and conscious of his father imminent death, accepting to sacrifice himself passing the rest of his life with a monster - Eliot putting everyone in danger killing the monster because of a stormshit of regrets and guilt)
I'm French (I watch the show in english) and i even don't know how french traduction team is doing in french doublage because "Q" in french sound like "cul" = ass. Q is cute
i understand they fell in love, built a family and they hav those memories, feelings like those don't just go away. i need closure i loved this episode
I've said it a thousand times and I'll say it once more. This is the most beautiful episode of the series. The part that makes it so special to me is that I just re-watched the episode and the next day I realized that it wasn't building the mosaic at all. The beauty of all life was them building and living a good life. That's is why that at the literal end, whe he was about to burry Eliot, the single tile appeared. PFFFFFF mind blown. It made it even better after I watched it 2 years ago. Again the most beautiful episode. Live your best life!
this was my favorite episode, it actually made me cry a lot😂 It made me fall even more in love with q and q and elliot’s relationship😭😭 the song choice couldn’t have been better also👌🏽
I appreciate this show when it directs its flashbacks. There's no stupid rewinding of a clip, just a muddy remembrance with narration from the flashbacker.
@@dragonbrother95 :') I'm so happy that it's hurting .... STILL I WANT TO SEE THE KID AGAIN OR THE GRAND KIDS AT LEAST IF WE DONT I SWEAR FLKDHQUQHERQIRGQEO
Can we actually talk about the fact that quentin decided to give up the key to jane so he won't get back and leave eliot and their memories.. That is just heartbreaking 💔 💔
Every time I watch this It’s just amazing... but damn that first experience and feelings you get from that first time you watch it. Once in a great while a Scene from tv,movies, book leaves you speechless. I think it’s awesome how artwork of any form can sometimes provoke so much feelings
I love the fact the beauty of all life is not complex but a single piece. That piece was a reflection of everything. It’s life lived, lost, and in the end such a reward found.
It makes me sad and at the same time happy. Quinton and Eliot lived lived long and peaceful lives with family in pristine Fillory. No matter what happened after that...
I can't believe what they've done to the show, especially Quentin. I'm glad I only watched the first 3 seasons, they were good. Thank you for uploading!
I get the feeling that in a parallel universe I fell madly in love with my crush, got married and had kids... and had a happy and fulfilling life... sob
I wasn't so sure about the show for awhile. There were good moments but it nerve really sold me. This episode did it for me. This is what made me invested in the story.
Season 3 was overall amazing. I had some issues with some specific episodes and characters. But this episode was a true Highmark, the show slowing down and just giving us this largely wordless Montague as we watch their relationship grown naturally over years is beautiful
'........and the most beautiful screen kiss, ever.......💔 I swear that I dream about this episode.....thank you for putting this wondrous edit together! Take care & be well 🙏🌹🙏
@@gorkon87 Except that we saw Eliot helping them raise Q's son, and Quentin said "WE had a family" while addressing Eliot. It seems like Eliot, Quentin, and Arielle had their own sort of family, even if only Quentin and Arielle were married.
The "Beauty of All Life"...... Is love. And that love doesn't have limits. Q loved each and every member of his family. His wife, his son, and his lover. And all of that love in the face of so much darkness...... makes me cry every time
@@azurequincy I stopped at 1 too the rape scene was very very disturbing and to be frank a little insensitive as it's always a little terrible to use a rape as a major plot twist. Buuuuuut I do want to get back into it as it doesn't remove the fact that the writing is brilliant and the actors are amazing
@@crueltyinpoetry spoilers. not really a plot twist... she drives half the main story arc and even becomes a god because of that.... more of a device than a twist.
I'll admit, I wasn't a fan of the first season. It was the clip of Margo & Eliot talking in code/pop culture (season 3) that had me going back to the first season and binge watching it.
