It really is. I didn’t watch it when it was on television for the first three seasons. I stumbled upon it by accident on Netflix. I could not believe the genius in the writing. Then I read the books. This might be my favorite show ever and I’m a 47 year old woman who has watched a shit ton of TV. 😭😭
This scene really shows how much of a closet nerd Margo is. She didn't just watch Game of Thrones the show, she read the books, as well Harry Potter and Fillory and Further. I love it 😂❤
MY sister and I legit convinced a guy we were psychic cause redid something similar but pretty much silent, so he just thought we were like straight up telepathic. He was kinda high. that made it honestly so much more fun
Benjamyn D'Arc Man, I remember that.... I want to say we couldn't have gotten away with it if he hadn't been so stoned, but realistically, I think we could.
Man When seeing this episode I lit thought “the best episode of Buffy, that’s the musical, wait I don’t get it?!?” In my head and then he said second and I directly thought “Hush!” If I didn’t love the show already this made me a fan for life!!!😍😍😍
Even I was thinking the hush episode during this ! I remember watching it when I was kid with my family. They all laughed at it thinking it was weird... Best ep of Buffy.
Those are the only two episodes I can think of besides graduation which is the shit, and when buddy Killed Angel and there are others that come in and out now that I’m thinking about it.
funny cause i went to HUSH first (once more with feelign was AWESOEM but Hush was just so amasing esp considering there were only 15 words spoken in the entire episode)
ok please explain - cuz I thought I should get this... Grace Park = sleeper agent? Cyclops = Fairy Queen? Fairuza Balk/Cersei = bitch? Best episode of Buffy = Hush? Our Harry = Quentin?
@@literatevarmint3838 El figure out The reason why the fairy queen took margo eye was was to spy on them and see what they are doing and be one step a head of them so they talk in pop culture references as code.
@@literatevarmint3838 In season 1 of the Battlestar Galactica remake, Grace Park played colonial warrior Boomer. But she was also, secretly, a cylon sleeper agent who was programmed to have no conscious memory of her true identity. Cyclops is reference because his power is in his eyes, which is what the fairy queen is using to spy on them; Margo's eye. Best episode of Buffy: The season 4 episide Hush, was nominated for awards for having almost NO dialogue, as the MotW captured the voices of everybody in Sunnidale.
Especially since these two started out seeming like they were just padding the group as deadweight to get killed off for dramatic effect, and then they turned into absolutely the best characters of the entire show.
Im not ashamed to admit that i couldnt follow this without the added subtitles i only knew about half the references lol. Thanks for putting them in there :) this show is actually the best.
@@yasminemixon5458 When was this? Because the subtitles have been around for a couple of years and they still have them to this day. (And the actual Netflix Closed Captioning subtitles weren't on when I last checked)
This was always one of my favourite scenes. Every so often I come back to rewatch this video over and over. It's a fun scene because the references they are dropping are quite easy to pick up. I love pop culture references in TV shows and movies. It's always like a little nod to them. One of my favourites was in Scream, the opening scene when Drew Barrymore is talking to Ghostface on the phone about movies and she mentions that the first Nightmare on Elm Street was good but the rest sucked. It took me years to realise that was a joke because Wes Craven was essentially the creator of Nightmare on Elm Street, however he only done the first one, he didn't do the rest, and when I got the joke I found it too funny.
lol. But the 3rd one Dream Warriors was my fave. Kinda took on an X-man vibe. And Patricia Arquette doing parkour before anyone knew what parkour was so underrated.
hush and OMWF are top tier, that's not open for debate, but I think there's a reasonable amount of contenders for the peak position. mine is "becoming" (part 2 if nailed to split)
@@harombee Canadian Netflix doesn't have it at all, and when I use a VPN to access U.S. Netflix, you get what Margot and Elliot SAY, but no subtitles saying what they MEAN.
@@patricklyons794 wow yeah I don't have tv just Netflix n recently Binged this lol. &here I thought that these were added in by the yt ch lmao that dsucks we missed out on that
@@DJdeliverance The series is also available on Prime Video, at least in Canada. I haven't checked to see if the "MargElliott" subtitles are available on THAT or not.
Out of all the women on this show, and that includes most of the men. Queen Margo the destroyer is my favorite Man on the show. She's a bad B and has more balls than every guy 😂 and her character development was good. Summer did a superb job as Margo.
Agreed-this is one of my faves too & truly sets the bar for TV writing and pop culture references. 💟 Phenomenal writing & acting-Margo’s, “I’m Grace Park!” realization is comedy gold! 😁⭐️
Oh god I needed a good laugh. Sadly I've I'm on a Magicians hiatus.... as much as I love this show I have trust issues now especially where cats are concerned and little Hester was just too much. It's too soon to go back :'(
If it’s any consolation, aside from the bunny and the cat I think those were the only scenes that an animal gets hurt on screen as far as I remember. When I rewatch this show those are the only scenes I skip completely (aside from Julia’s scene where she remembers what happened)
This is honestly a very clever use of pop culture references that makes sense for the plot since obviously someone like the Queen isn’t concerning herself with earth pop culture and the writers actually give thought to the kind of pop culture the characters would know with the little nods like Elliot not reading the books. Great use of pop culture references
Perhaps the subtitling has a language barrier for this clip? I watch everything w/CC or subtitles and the version I watched had the lines verbatim. Obviously, not a big deal unless the person watching this is hearing impaired/deaf. 😬 I’d suggest just watching the episode (and the show!) to enjoy the comedic brilliance. 😊
They’re referencing the episode Hush. The one where ‘the gentlemen’ come to town and steal everyone’s voices. That one and The Body, the one where Buffy finds her dead moms body after she has an aneurism, are generally considered the best episodes.
I can only like this video once, sadly. Margo consumes information like no one else. Fashion, partying, ALL THE NERD BOOKS and shows, and is a kick-ass strong woman who doesn't take shit.
Hahaha. This is such a cool concept. Please tell me there is a scene with the BB frustrated, writing down the words they are using, unsure of the spelling, and saying "Fucking millennials ! Why can't you be students of HISTORY, not ephemera ! . . . who the hell is THEIR Harry, it is obviously re the magician kid, but WTF ?". It also smacks of the scene in Gulf where Joe and Kettle Belly "talk" in the cell.
Naw.. Eliot singing in the desert was way better than this. It brought light to just how great the show makers are at putting together musical scenes that don't feel cheesy/campy (Riverdale is a good example of bad singing scenes; like, you're trying to be Newsies/Grease, but you're not even making it to a level of Sweeney Todd). Also, Eliot's voice is insane. I hope he takes up a career in singing now that Magicians is officially over.
was about to say. This scene is hilarious and may be the best scene written, but Eliot singing to a tripping Margo was the most memorable to me. And one of the final scenes, but I wont spoil that.
