If I had a penny for every time this show featured an incredibly badass woman motivated to save the world by the loss of their cat to a weird supernatural embodiment of fear, I'd have two pennies. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice
Forever going to love how Martin and Jon just cause more problems for Melanie and Georgie. They're both like "Nope don't want to interfere with cult business or deal with annoying questions from people who understand nothing. That's Melanie and Georgie's business now."
The eye looking for Jon: has anyone seen my son? My archives adrenaline is kicking in!JOHNNY?! I CAN SEE EVERY EQUATION! Excuse me ma’am have you seen my son Jon he’s about this tall clearly gay but we haven’t had the talk yet?
*Finds me hiding in the dumpster* "My luck is beginning to turn" *sips on fear* "Who the fuck puts a lonely Watched in here!?" *Continues searching* "I'll let you do statements!" "WHERE'S THE ARCHIVIST!?"
“He looked happy, does that make him evil” hmm what an innocuous statement about the admiral that in no way serves as a metaphor for another character who feels conflicted about his morality and how good the apocalypse has been for him…
I am a little late but I legit thought they were talking about Jon at first until they called him a cat and I was like: ???? Is this a metaphor?? It was like 1 am.
LMAO Melanie who, apart from Martin, has genuinely asked you to be sympathetic to Jon, or in fact shown him significant sympathy themselves? Poor man has been getting openly hated on this whole time XD
@@ArilliusDM i agree!! the va is fantastic, and the writing is also great (her flaws are on purpose rather than writing mistakes) i just don't like her as a character very much
Late, but probably her therapist/Laverne? She did say she spoke to her about Jon a lot, so before the apocalypse Laverne could've noticed similar patterns in them and tried to get Melanie to be sympathetic toward him (aka, to the parts of him she sees that she hates in herself). That's total guessing and isn't part of the show though, lol
It’s so sad watching the audience dwindle down as the episodes march towards the end. It feels like my little gang of fellow Ceaseless Watchers are closing their eyes
god I know what you mean, I won't get specific incase anyone reads this but I spoiled myself for something on purpose and it made me so sad I had to take a break before coming back :,3@@shreddedcheese2659
Seriously. Its like, if she always felt this way, it makes no sense to seek him out in the first place. At all. I hate Melanie, but this current antipathy to Jon feels like..displacement.
the next episodes are waiting to hurt me, i can just tell- I've been stalling listening to the rest of the episodes cause i don't want it to end ;-; never mind that the show has already finished. ignorance is bliss and all that
I’ve binged this whole series over the last couple of weeks, and I’m a huge fan of the storytelling, and the way that they’ve built up their world. Thank you for the continually fantastic storytelling.
This episode was a really nice reintroduction to the series after having a break. Also, Georgie/Melanie and JonMartin are adorable, it's nice to have healthy relationship represented in media
It's raining nightmare's! And now let's hear it for the spots channel, last I hear the not-people and the flesh body builders were competing in rugby....
In tribute to the arrival of the Watchers favourite boy - streets flowing with blood and new sap flowing in the veins of the old archivists! Great people watching weather, as always!
Aaron, suspicious of the ‘other’ horror walkers. Martin, protective of Jon. They were never going to be friends. Melanie gets to voice her frustration at ‘having’ to like the archivist. (Nobody ‘has’ to like everybody. That’s like saying everybody ‘has’ to be happy.. or like coriander.) We have a plan. Get the cat back. It is a good plan.
It was nice to--briefly--see Georgie not acting like an insane person. I think "everybody" telling Melanie not to blame Jon for the weather is just her therapist.
yes i listened to the rest of it on acast after the last episode was uploaded here. yes i am continuing to listen to the episodes as they are released on here honestly, i miss that one moment where pre-slaughter melanie and jon were just. being enthusiastic at each other. they could've had such a good friendship, but, sometimes, things happen, and you can't fix them properly, and you just. you just have to live like that, i suppose
*Melanie saying how she hates everyone wanting her to be sympathetic towards John* You Know that is Johnny addressing the audience who has been furious with her attitude towards our boi
It really did feel like a fourth wall break. Like, I'm going "Who? Who has been nagging Melanie to not blame Jon for everything? We're the only ones! And Martin! Even the freaking monsters like to tease Jon that its all his fault."
Not sure what it says about me that this "domain" worries me way more than any other this season. I know we had the mob mentality ep already but these people are making me *tense*
Everyone wants to escape from reality. These characters want a way back to it. The grass is always greener…. Especially if the grass is growing in Dinotopia. Sorry to break the mood with a non sequitur , but if there was a fictional world I could live in it would be Dinotopia!
Ohhh Melanie just doesn’t like Jon, probably because he reminds her of herself. I mean think about it, most people we hate possess traits we hate to see in ourselves. She only hates Jon because she associates him with her time at the archives. Edit: btw Georgie is totally the “I can fix them” type
John tells this dude he doesnt know how the thing he and his friends have been living for years works. Dude gets upset and decides John and Martin are the problem. Put the fanfic down lad. Go touch grass.
@@MegatronTarantulas As someone who's first language is English but never had to abide by any one dialect, region specific vocabulary (unless I'm paying attention) always goes over my head. Didn't even realize.
I like how this season they got all of the gay out of their system before it was over Like before there were two mentions of gay people, one died and the other killed her girlfriend But now they finally caved and let the audience have all the gay romance that we deserved
Everyone two episodes ago all yay lesbian cult! Me not trusting cults. Next EP Aaron opens his mouth. Me he's gonna be the problem. Aaron Opens mouth again to start shit. Me! See! see! him! he's the reason CULT lesbian or not is a bad thing!!
Yep! Its so weird seeing comments praising people for bad behavior..if they're LGBT! Its okay then! Makes me miss the unrealistic fanfic where everybody is gay, so gay hero or gay villain gets judged on their nonsexual actions.
I still really dislike Melanie because of course she doesn't have to like him but she's been downright nasty to him all this time and continues to be rude and lowkey putting all her problems on him. You can just act decent like you would towards any random person! Also she has no empathy towards him even though they all went through hell, him more than the rest of the gang. Idk, maybe i see myself in her so i dont like her...............
