Congrats to you for doing a lovely job on the build but also for showing what it's all about, enjoying wooden boats with family! I hope you are still enjoying the boat and your slice of paradise.
Great job! I built mine in 2008 and I row it once a week out of Marina Del Rey in the Los Angeles area. Wonderful boat; very stable and maneuverable in open water.
couple of things, always launch parallel to the shore. it makes it's easier to get in, and also allows you to launch in much shallower water. Also when you get into the boat put the oars perpendicular to the gunnel and fathered to prevent capcising. other than that, beautiful boat. I have mine ordered and I'm stoked to build it. I absolutely love how yours turned out. Is the name painted?

Looks great ! I am about to embark on a similar project . I notice your oars / hands do not overlap as the ''pros'' do .Do you lose any power with that set up ?
Hi Ross. In the video it was my very first time with this type of rowing set up so everything about it was wrong! I'm still no pro but my technique has come a long way with practice since those early days!
Sweet! ...your oar blades are a bit deep. Also, extend your legs before leaning back...it's legs, back arms.Enjoy ...opps I see this was a while back, sure you're a pro now :)
