You really did a great job restoring the little Cushman, I'm sure lots of museum visitors will enjoy seeing it for years to come. There was someone north of me who did an old Cushman into a "zombie survival death machine" that was pretty hilarious to see driving around his town.

You finally find a job for your spooky quiet friend... A postal worker? 😝😝😝 What an honor to see ones own work in a museum. There is so much in your videos that reach me. I'm a 70 yo 3rd gen mechanic/fabricator with professional mechanics for uncles, cousins, and grandpas. You showing the Young'un how to balance out the carb, and set dwell, was a Kodak Moment with a long gone uncle, down to the way you step back, and let the boy do it. That dwell ohm volt RPM Device was my first electronic automotive diagnostic tool ever. It made me a god among my peers. Thank you for shaking out old school memories

Merlin is now in the history books as putting the iconic mail machine & lovely mannequin (& bag) in the town museum. What a piece of work that little machine is & it fits so nicely in the hall where it landed. Merlin spent days prepping the aged fire engine (months ago) preserving that piece of history, and with this act shows again, how much he cares about his community & the unit (that he brought back to life). Such a worthwhile endeavor that will greatly enhance public museum visits in his town.

I beg to differ Merlon should of at least put a touch of his genius engineering and added larger tires on air ride. 😊 …..I forgot he should of modified the alternator to weld. After all the mail man or women should be able to fix that air ride suspension to get back to the main Hub.

Our family has one of these. Its restored but painted in our locsl high school colors and mastcot logos. Father-in-law passed away four months ago. Not sure what we'll do with it now. I should get it started up again this summer and put it back in our annual village parade. In honor of my Father-in-law. Great man, everyone knew him and his Cavmobile. Named for the Coldwater, Ohio Cavaliers.

Sure would like to know more about this mail truck and it's restoration. I had one similar to it, but it was made by the Otis Elevator Company. I got it in the Mid Seventies. The Engine was an Onan CCK-MS1070F, I believe 13 Horse Power. Three on the tree and a South Wind Gasoline Fired Heater/Defroster to keep the cab warm. It would do 35 MPH flat out and I drove it back and forth from Base Housing at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center to my Classes at the main naval station. When I towed it back to Michigan, my Wife used it to get her Motor Cycle License and drove it around until I got transferred to Virginia. Sold it to someone in Michigan and lost track of it after that. It was a fun little project rebuilding the engine and transmission and trying to get the heater to work. I forgot where all the parts came from as Otis just opened up someones parts catalog and picked out something. I believe the Brake Master Cylinder was the Clutch Cylinder of an IHC Scout 80, Transmission internal parts came from a Crosley car of some vintage.
