The main BANANAS producing countries in the WORLD (In thousands of tons | 1961 - 2018)
NOTE: There is a controversy regarding how to say, banana, banana or plantain. Personally I have always known it as a banana, but there are countries that say only one type of banana fruit that is cooked, and another that is eaten as is.
Finding out a little, and going to the RAE page, the three terms are accepted, and depending on the area or the country, it is said in different ways, in some countries everything is called plantain, in others they say bananas to those who eat and plantains that are cooked, in countries like Mexico I understand make that difference but calling it male plantain, and even elsewhere they call it Cambur or Guineo.
Trying to use the most correct term, I understand that the banana is the one that is cooked, the banana is the one that is eaten as it is, and the banana would become the tree where the banana grows, something like the apple that grows apple, although there are places where the fruit is also called banana. It is not like the case of Avocado - Avocado, where we are talking about exactly the same thing without differences. There is also the DATA of the banana, which is different from that of the banana, which I also plan to do, and for which reason it is made and I have made such a difference between banana and banana, considering that they are very similar, but not the same. It is also interesting to note that in English they do make such a difference clear, with Banana and Plantain. How do they tell you in your country or region?
