Yeah the animatronics are so much better in this since the first movie the puppeteers always struggle on chucky like losing his buttons or not even moving his mouth while speaking and had to use a stunt double

This is much better than CGI. Puppetry and practical effects does it better than CGI. I was born in 85 the better days of life I'm a 90's kid right here. They don't make movies like this anymore. The simple times before the cell phone and internet addiction, people always staring at their phones.

Agreed. CGI does have its place. There are things that you just cannot achieve practically. But if/when you can, it's the best way to go. Some people argue that animatronics don't look convincing, but CGI does not look any more convincing. In your mind, you know it's a CGI shot. It looks exactly like what is: a computer effect that was added later and isn't actually there, and that kind of ruins the magic in a way. CGI works the best when you don't immediately realize it is being used.

I feel like anyone born from the late 70s until about 85 kind of got a giant pie to the face. Analog natives who suddenly found themselves in strange surroundings, but were still young enough to be expected to adapt to everything totally new but not always better. Fuck CGI.

As many movies as they make, this series just somehow never gets old for me. Maybe 'cause there's a brand new story every film, and not just a rehash of a previous film every time, aka Friday the 13th.

Yeah and the new one was also animatronic for many scenes but also used cgi but still the orginal chucky is literally only animatronic and stunt double and somehow hes still more realistic

@lan Cruz it’s because of copyright issues because MGM own the rights of the first child’s play and universal bought the rights to child’s play but they couldn’t buy the rights to the first child’s play that’s why they couldn’t use the original chucky

I hate to be mean but in my opinion Annabelle is scarier because she try’s to stay hidden more and also better. Chucky, however, will just wait until he’s in a room alone. Also Chucky/Charles lee Ray is a human but Annabelle is a ghost/demand it doesn’t madder that Charles is a killer. Probably the best looking Chucky in the series. #1 looked like a damn fine work-in-progress. Child's Play 3 Chucky had a fat face, an overbite, and a limited range of emotions. Seriously, he had a MEGA SCOWL going on for nearly 100% of his screen time; even when he's supposed to be appearing like a 'Good Guy' in front of Tyler. Scarface Chucky looked pretty good, but was still lacking that emotional range. Cult's Chucky just looks... weird.

The narrator voice makes this sound more comical rather than horrifying. I was terrified out of my mind as a kid in the 90s over Chucky. But nowadays as an adult, he looks more like the guy you'd rather hang out with when bored at parties (minus the killings).

Childs play 2 was probably their best film tbh.. after seed it went down hill. Maybe they will give Chucky his signature look in the 2020 Chucky.. instead of the cabbage patch freak.
