Lil Pump became one of 2017’s biggest new rappers with his hit single “Gucci Gang,” which went platinum last month. The single topped the Billboard Hot 100 and became the shortest song to crack the Top 10, clocking in at two minutes and four seconds. One of the producers behind the ubiquitous single was Bighead (Brendan Murray), who also worked closely with the late Lil Peep.

I like how the producer doesn't pretend that the beat is overly technical or complex. He knows that it's just a simple beat, he's aware of that. But he's still proud of his beat because despite its simplicity, he knows it's a hit. I think that's really cool.

But your comment is a bit redundant because you said the take-away is to have a high quality/well organised library of sounds, yet BIGHEAD says himself that he just used the preset piano sound. So really, the take-away is that you can use any basic sound to execute a good beat. I rarely use any of the bundled sounds because my library of samples IS vast, high quality and very well organised. ^•^

Further more, I don't disagree with your comment, as a producer your library is your ammunition but this video isn't a good example of someone's library being put to use. This video shows laziness to be unique or experimental, which explains it's mass appeal because it's predictable and simple. Davide Pascucci You're just hating , I'd see if you said you didn't like the beat , fine. Everybody has there opinion but you're saying that it's "simple". Simple beats are needed for rappers to fill the beat in with there vocals. It might be "simple" but it takes alot of time to know certain stuff in fl studio. Mixing it the right way , turning off/on/up/down certain knobs and leveling the beat , a beginner prod is not going to know to do all these things. Most of these prods on here that breakdown the beats of hits are simple.

For all young and beginner producers, i want you to understand that what makes this beat or song become huge is not the actual music its self. Its the marketing behind it. With a couple of months, you can train anyone to make 95% of beat on the radio. I would love to see Genius have a Deconstructed behind a big song like this but the marketing. PVLACE drums are just as important if not more important than melodies. murda has bounce in his beats that aren’t matched by any other producer. he doesn’t depend on farting bass to carry the percussion like most mainstream producers.

Stick N Groove in response to your question. The studio will he used for vocals, adlips, layering etc. The instrumental is normally created on the laptop and then brought over onto the studio computer.
