What a brilliant design Ol' Maud was - quite complex, but every complexity serves a very utile purpose.🤔 No offense to Maud, but if this locomotive were to be renamed in today's vernacular, perhaps 'The Hulk' would serve as its personification, as it's appearance from any angle is Massive!😳 Your research and measured presentation gave me a new appreciation. I knew I loved the looks of mallet compounds, but I had no idea of their eloquent design and performance characteristics. Thank you Sir. 🚂Lawrence
It's an interesting question as to what name she might have gotten through the ages if locomotive development had have occured later. I could imagine a Popeye in there somewhere.
@@theimaginationstation1899 Sure, why not Popeye(?) - what with those bulging, reciprocating biceps, smoking pipe and all. I presume that we would also have the firebox consuming spinach from the tin can tender? On second thought,🤔 . . . maybe something a little more Marvel-ous for this allegedly-more-sophisticated generation?🙄
