I can’t believe they made Walter white real

Funnily enough, there's actually a dude in Alabama, actually named Walter White. And yes, he actually sold meth. He apparently sold the best meth in the south. He got 12 years in prison, and he's doing pretty well now. Vince Gilligan claimed that the similarities between Walter White, and well, Walter White was purely coincidental.

I remember reading an article by a chemist where he discussed Walter's blue stuff. He stated that the "biker meth" that Walt started making in the second season, after they needed to increase the scale of their operation, actually had a much lower purity. This is why, in real life, crank makers started using Sudafed and other sources of psuedoephedrine, which produced much higher purity. The chemist speculated that Walt came up with a way to further purify the biker meth, and it was this step (which, like Victor Frankenstein's method of imparting life onto dead matter, was never elaborated on) which gave the stuff its blue color.

Did the DEA really think asking meth addicts to not buy the blue meth would work at all?

They miss the secret idea of Breaking Bad. The show is not glorifying meth, it's a warning. Across the course of the series, Walter White ends up directly or indirectly fucking over the lives of himself and nearly everybody he meets.

I had an idiot neighbor that was also a Walter White wannabe. He eventually caused a fire but he wasn't quite kicked out of the apartment. For some reason he was able to live with his brother in the same complex. Same idiot who completely flipped out when his fiancee went to the bar.

If I were the homeowner, I would’ve figured out a way to monetize the house. Maybe turn it into a Breaking Bad museum or something.

The Pizza throw scene even was a one taker. Bryan Cranston needed only one try to throw the pizza perfectly on the roof and you can see that even he was surprised at his face. Thats what i call a allrounder. But those people who drive to this womans home and throw pizza or spray graffittis are just scum i dont understand how people can be this ruthless. It's weird how these people just ignore the mass death, pain, dangerous events, risks, etc. that takes place in shows like Breaking Bad. They just isolate the cool parts and try to emulate them while ignoring everything else.

The last hellschool I went to (a year or two before the show started) was so rural, only one teacher actually had a superior education (heck, the school principal was illiterate), so he was stuck teachers like 3/4 of the classes. He wasn't paid accordingly though so in order to buff up his paychecks, he made the students cook crystal meth under the guide of "practical labs", so he could sell it in the neighboring college towns (where, afaik, literally everyone is insane and/or on drugs, including the cops) And that wasn't even the worst thing about that school, fun times

I heard a while back that around the time Breaking Bad first started airing, there was an actual drug kingpin getting busted after around 20 years of operation. I kid you not, his name was also Walter White, and his "product" was known for being the purest around. Purely a coincidence though, because 1) no one knew about what he was doing, 2) the people he worked with didn't even know what he looked like, and 3) Vince Gilligan was conceiving the show while he was working on The X-Files.

I drove by the Breaking Bad house a few years ago during the Balloon Fiesta, which brings thousands of people to Albuquerque. They actually had the street closed to local traffic with cones and a police officer sitting in their car down the street. I turned around, but not before I saw the homeowner sitting in her driveway with a shotgun in her lap… can’t say I blame her.

Fran dealt with the issue better. Also if you’re a fan of the show, guys they can make a rubber prop to look like a pizza. Every time you all did this it was probably damaging the roof. At least when the cast and crew did it it’s probably just a prop. And if they did damage her roof they could compensate her. Unlike most fans.

The actual pure irony is that they don’t realize they could never enjoy life in Walter’s place.

I moved to Albuquerque 8 months ago from Amarillo (Better Call Saul reference Lmao). I wasn’t prepared for the Fort Knox level defenses that woman put up around the house when I finally drove past. I pulled by AS she was coming out of the garage to sit there. I can’t imagine that existence, constantly defending a home from people would leave it alone if she only stopped yelling racist shit at people. I do feel bad for the family though. The pizza throwing and pool jumping was way too far.

Holy crap this literally happened while I went to the university across the street. My friend at Henderson couldn’t go to his science classes because of this. I was a film student and he said that there was something shady going down cause FBI guys were there, so I should make a documentary about it. I blew him off - no way it was a Breaking Bad thing right? Turns out the craziest rumor was the truth all along!!!

I always thought Breaking Bad would inspire people to cook meth. It's like Jag, a military show about lawyers. Once it got popular people started inlisting. Anybody want to inspire people to join a career field just make a really good tv show and you will see an uptick in people joining that type of job.

I went to school at Henderson and was in the Reynolds science center when the spill happened. I was on the first floor taking a make-up test I had missed the week before because I was at a travel meet with the swim team. I had just finished my test and was walking outside when they sent out the campus alert to stay away from the science center. The spill happened on the third floor and shut the whole building down for at least a month. From what I heard they had to completely gut the room it happened in. They had to remove windows in every floor to circulate air through the building. I got an easy A in biology because we literally could not have class. At first we thought it was just an accident until we started seeing law enforcement and the FBI over the next few days, and then we knew the truth. It was a small college town so word spread fast.
