Hey Tariq, Thanks so much for having on your show! If anyone has any questions for me I'd be happy to answer them. Just reply to this comment and I'll check back from time to time.
When you do wait to have managers run the stores themselves? Is it a system thing or an income thing before you transition to stop working at one store?
@@apollospyrol7168 We spent a lot of time with assistant mgrs. getting them ready. We would assign them to run back or front of house while a general mgr. was on duty running the full operation. Eventually when they were ready, we would let them run a shift alone, but always checking with their progress. When we had a new opportunity, for example if we built a new restaurant, we would move a Store successful store manager to the new location. To fill that empty management position we would either move a manager from a lower volume store to the vacant position, or we would promote a strong, capable assistant manager to that spot. There was a system to it, but it was also about promoting the person who was the right fit for the store. It always has a lot to do with the relationship with the person, so it is an art and a science. I hope that is helpful, there are no easy answers when dealing with people, and no one size fits all solution.
