The Mandalorian culture is probably my favorite in all of fiction (Klingon being a close second) Btw, Mandalorians are less a species than a culture. Children are often adopted on the battlefield and later join a clan to become fully fledged Mandalorians. I have a lot of beef with Disney right now (well said Chris) but DAMN, this looks good. Also, please play Republic Commando! It takes place between Ep II and III and is a great game that introduces you a lot to the culture.

Coruscant was the city planet where the Jedi temple was located. Kamino is where the cloning happens. BTW, the doctor with Herzog had a Kamino symbol on his arm. They might want to clone baby Yoda.

Fun fact: Favreau and Filoni were hesitant about whether they could pull off the baby Yoda as a physical puppet, and planned to also film the shots without the puppet so they could do it in CGI if it didn't work out. Then Werner Herzog got wind of it and called them cowards for even thinking of using CGI over a physical effect, and they were shamed into just going with the puppet.

I think you guys missed something......there were two Bounty Hunters after Yoda's clone, but the IG droid had a kill order, The Mandalorian had capture as priority, so obviously the two Hunters had different orders, so logically, they had different employers. Who was the IG's employer? That is what the scene was supposed to make you think about, but they distracted you with a cute Yoda clone to make you kick yourself for missing it.

The Jedi Temple was also at Coruscant. The clones were created in Kamino, an extremely remote planet that was purposefully deleted from the Jedi Archives.

Coruscant is the galactic capital, is probably where humans come from, and is in the Core (near the center of the galaxy) Kamino is a water world, is in the Outer Rim (self explanatory) and is where the Clone Army was made

For Baby Yoda, I think they are using a puppet/animatronic in some shots, that's why he looks so real. But for full body shots and actually moving around (like him chasing the frog), they are using CGI. That's my guess, at least.

The budget for the first Star Wars film in 1977 was only $11 million USD. The budget for The Mandalorian (per episode) is $15 million USD. Therefore the entire budget for all 8 episodes of The Mandalorian is $120 million USD.

The baby is a puppet. No cgi. The directors said so. It takes two people to make him function. Even the cast is blown away by the realness of the puppetry.

When I heard "mando" I could almost hear VJ Emmie from Kampala, Uganda scream "COMMANDO!", "COMMANDO!!". Action is coming. Also, "Beskar" is the name of the metal - also called "Mandalorian iron". Because it is only somewhat common on Mandalore it is highly valuable to the Mandalorians, since armor and weapons are important in their martial culture where skill, strength and honor are important virtues. Also, the first time we see Jawas are when they capture R2-D2 and C-3PO. Which are sold to Luke's uncle Owen later on.

Jawas have been in New Hope of course however they did make a brief cameo in Phantom Menace during the pod race scene and hear some extra Jawa lore when they say "Utinni" there saying come here buy something

Star Wars featured only two planets, Tatooine and Yavin 4. Three if you count Alderaan. Empire had Hoth, Dagobah, and Bespin. Jedi had Endor, Tatooine, and Dagobah again. It wasn't until the prequels that planet hopping became a thing.

It's kind of funny to me how younger generations think everything is CGI now. They think it's just like running a Photoshop script or something, just hit a button and your scene is created. But it's actually VERY expensive and time-consuming to create CG characters and locations. Special effects guys still use lots of models and practical effects, though they are often enhanced with CG animation.

Ketty is a marketing guru at heart, I knew as soon as I saw Baby Yods that was a brilliant marketing merchandising choice.

Everyone I see is saying the Jawa's are straight up thieves, but if you consider the fact that over the past 1 to 50 years bounty hunters have been showing up and dying one after the other, there must be countless abandoned ships around. The Jawa's probably just assumed this was another one that died and were clearing away the now un-owned vessel. So they are more like vultures waiting for death than actual thieves.

Baby Yoda is one of three of it's species known in star wars and all three where strong with the force. The three include Yaddle, Yoda, and baby Yoda. Yaddle and Yoda are both Jedi.

They went with the puppet to make it seem like Yoda from Empire Strikes Back but with some CGI enhancements, really does make it feel like it's the same species in real time

Baby Yoda is not CG guys! They used Practical effects like the old school starwars.

My only real complaint for the series so far is that the pace seems a little slow for how long the episodes are. I think if the episodes were more around an hour long it would work a bit better. With that being said i'm still very much enjoying the show so far.
