Just some public service info. Please, everyone, research what a serial actually is. Find out everything that makes up the serial genre. It is extremely important to know what it is when thinking about the Mandalorian. An abbreviated explanation is basically, a serial can be thought of as a never-ending (for the life of the Mandalorian) series of video books. Each video book has a beginning and an end. Each video book's story is unique to the video book series. Each video book has the primary character (for the Mandalorian, it is Din Djarin) that lasts for the life of the series. Each video book has a plot point that the story of the given video book revolves around (in this, video book 1 of the Mandalorian, it is 'the child'). Because they are video books, the episodes are done in chapters. A serial's chapters have missions (or quests) for each. At the end of each video book, the plot point leaves the story. This means when Din Djarin successfully gets 'the child' to its kind (and he will succeed, because that too is part of what makes a serial), that particular video book ends. The next episode will start a new video book, with a different plot point that the new story will revolve around. That first episode of the new video book will be labeled chapter 1. Taking our current series, the Mandalorian, we currently are in, video book 1, chapter 12, or, The Mandalorian: The Child; Chapter 12, The Siege. Using the season and episode numbers will mess you up eventually when a new book starts because each new video book will start a new sequential numerical climb until the end of that new book. Knowing that the Mandalorian is made in serial form gives the viewer information that they otherwise would not have, such as, yes, 'the child' will be leaving the Mandalorian at the end of the video book; Every chapter of a video book will have a mission that Din Djarin will have to undertake for the story to progress. There are no such thing as 'filler episodes', because each chapter introduces something that will be vital to the story later, only, it may not be evident at that time of viewing. Serials first became popular on radio and in motion pictures, before television was invented. For the cinema, serials were a way to get people to become repeat customers. Generally speaking, serials were for kids, the feature was for adults. Over the years the serial genre fell out of favor, however, George Lucas loved them when he was a kid, and made his trilogy movies in a stylized serial format. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni decided to make the Mandalorian in serial form as a tribute to George Lucas, and to help keep the genre alive. I just wanted to give people a heads up, because I can't impress upon you enough how important knowing what a serial is when considering the Mandalorian series on Disney+.
I think also when he and Mando shake hands, it’s a reference to Predator when he and Arnold Schwarzenegger shake hands and flex. I could just be over analyzing though
This week's Mandalorian episode is like a strange cross mingling of my 70's world. I had a Kenner Storm Trooper Transport as a kid and I had seen both Rocky movies. Fast forward FORTY TWO years later, I'm freaking watching Apollo Creed shoot down Tie Fighters in a Transport gun turret. Are you kidding me?
I read that those troopers are known as Dark Troopers who are force sensitive. Remembered scientist via hologram saying donor. Child is the donor with high M-count. i have a possible idea on the Child's history. What if both Yoda & female, Yaddle had an offspring secretly due Jedi cannot have kids. Both of them have a technique to suppress other Jedi and Sith's knowledge of the Child until both of them passes away. So, Empire were able to track down the Child especially Palpatine who as we know now that he survived the plunge during Return of the Jedi. He secretly ordered that Lab create some clones look like Snoke.
16:43 "You'd think they got comms". Here's the thing. What the troopers did was actually really smart. They're chasing people *in an Imperial vehicle*...it's entirely possible they were able to listen in on Imperial frequencies (we know they weren't, but the speeder bike troopers dont), so they went low tech and used hand signs. That was actually a really clever thing for them to do, and shows that they're soldiers and are thinking like soldiers.
Having them slightly showing Mando's face while drinking with baby Yoda is probably a confirmation of balance of the force shifting, I meant the balance of Mando's ideals shifting of being a real Mandalorian.
I think it's just that a lot of people were wondering how does he eat/drink with his helmet on, and this scene was just intended to answer those questions. At least this was a question i had since the first episodes of the first season, and i'm satisfied with the "answer" .
@@zmeicorp Well, we see him eat with the helmet off in s1e4, but at that moment he is all by himself. Here he is right besides Baby Yoda, who is peeking up under the helmet (and probably see half of his face). I agree with the original poster.
I think there's a difference between him taking it off and letting the kid see him, especially if at some point Mando realizes he's the Dadalorian and he's not giving that kid up. Maybe next season he'll be okay with not wearing the helmet when they're alone in the Razor Crest. Then they could show Pedro's face sometimes but hopefully not change his character too much.
I can’t wait to see Ashoka tear through some imperials. They won’t see her coming lol And SIDE NOTE I really want to know if Ahsoka’s aware that her old master has a son out there...
The Mandalorian is getting better and better. Absolutely love it! There was a time many years ago when I thought: a Star Wars Live Action TV-Show? That won't work, because a huge part of why I love Star Wars is the epicness, which won't happen on TV. Little did I know that there would be a Star Wars show with such high production values (and the appropriate aspect ratio) that gives theatrical movies a run for their money. So good!
Love the level of detail in this episode, right down to using the term "slicing" as the Star Wars term for computer hacking. I'm not sure what work originated that, but it was commonly used in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Joking at their franchise for lack of safety railings on platforms was pretty great as well.
I'm so glad I watched this reaction! I have seen this episode multiple times and never noticed that IG-11 statue in the background on Navarro. Good eye! IG-11 MVP!!
I wouldn't be surprised if Ahsoka gets all defensive when Mando brings out baby Yoda... like Who Dafuq is You!?! Get Back!Jango and Boba weren't homies after all...
Am I the only one who is super skeptical of Rosario Dawson as Ashoka? I mean, I'm not a Rosario hater, but it's not the same as having the voice actor who played Bo Katan show up and play Bo Katan. Seems a lot of people think she's perfect because she looks like the character, not because she can actually portray her.... just sayin'. I'm hoping for the best tho.
Last season Cara Dune seemed like she was avoiding the Republic just as much as the Empire, so there's some kind of history there. Maybe we won't get it until next season but them giving her two "soft" moments (with the space meerkat and with Mr. Kim) was interesting.
She supposedly "deserted", but it's pretty clear the Rebels/New Republic would be willing to ignore that to get a skilled, experienced soldier back into their employ.
Couple of scary things. If the Emperor was cloned, where did they get the Metachlorians from? We only know of Baby Yoda, Luke, Ahsoka and Ezra as a source. Where was Baby Yoda, Ahsoka and Ezra during during the sequels trilogy? What happened before Episode 8 and why was it called 'The Last Jedi'? At what point did Luke's Academy fail? Just asking.
Watch the last few minutes of the episode with audio descriptions on ,,, the person says """Immobilized Darktroppers"" Right at the end... Will not say it in closed caption....
they have been slowly bringing back into the official canon things from the legends canon and earlier video games like the incinerator trooper from the force unleashed 2 in the last episode of the first season and the troopers at the end look like Dark Troopers from Dark Forces
Am I the only one who notice that ever since The Child saw the other Mandolorian’s take their helmet off.. how he looked at Mando like “Wait .. what?”.. And when Mando drinks he looked up trying to see Din’s face. I’m calling it .. the Child will demand in some way for Mando to take off his helmet .
"Australia?" Haha Very Baby Groot and Rocket Raccoon moment. Carl Weather's did such a great job. I can spin off shows of characters especially Cara. Snoke clones maybe? No one can miss episode 5...
That may have been the plan originally, but after Gina Carano's recent trans-phobic/anti-mask/voter fraud Tweets, I doubt it. I wouldn't be surprised if she is killed off-screen next season.
Wow I didn’t know this I liked her a lot. That’s so disappointing. It says a lot that people got more upset over BY eating some eggs than this bish being a homophobic conspiracy theorist.
I love your reactions! You two know your Star Wars stuff unlike other reactors. Thank you for your Mandalorian coverage, you are the BEST! ;) possibly inappropriate comment. Vanessa, you are absolutely beautiful. Just a lovely young woman . Never mind smart and knowledgeable ;)
Could be creating a Force sensitive being that can that can later host Palpatine.. Also the screen image could have been Starkiller Base blueprint I think we'll ACTUALLY see Snoke! 🤯 All this cloning for the empire, & needing to be a rare Force user species. *COUGH Palp return.. Great reaction as always 🤘
If Baby Yoda is Papa Yoda’s love child, and he is now fifty years old, then I reckon Papa Yoda must have gotten busy and had him sometimes before the events of “The Phantom Menace”...for whatever reason, maybe pass his life knowledge and experience about the Force and the Jedi...and preserve somekind of legacy. It’s pretty clear that someone took care of Baby Yoda for the first decades of his life until he was kidnapped from wherever he had been cared for and Mando met him (I think Mando’s connection to this baby is also probably more important than we know.) As for Mando himself, I think he was and is important and of some kind of noble or royal lineage probably that he can’t remember because of the trauma. There is no way Death Watch would have just randomly rescued any child. They were there clearly for him specifically. Also we don’t really know if those people in the flashbacks were his parents. Maybe they were just servants trying to get him to safety and place him exactly in that box where Death Watch found him. Also this crimson robes he was wearing with whatever insignia or crest he had on...must mean something, crimson is the colour of royalty...
We do. Our first attempt got blocked. They give us the time codes for what got blocked, we go back and cut down our footage until it no longer gets blocked.
Man, i just hope they don't try to bridge the mando universe with the sequel. I love the mandalorian show, but if they took the show to the point of first order creation. I'm done for good. Anyway good episode
