And now we see that Mayfeld's reputation as what Ran called "...the best triggerman (he'd) ever seen..." is well earned. He literally didn't miss a single shot he attempted.
Gideon’s Ship (an upgraded arquiten light cruiser most likely an arquiten-II) is a full model which is awesome. I also love that he’s not in an Imperial Star Destroyer but a much smaller vessel to stay hidden from the New Republic while other factions like Thrawn are still in the Unknown Regions building up his fleet.
Thanks, Tristan. Means more than we can say, to read stuff like that! Glad you’re enjoying our content, and I can’t wait for you to see what’s to come! - The Hound.
Thanks, it's... quite something. Hope you enjoy it! And honestly, while I'm generally not a fan of retcons, or handwaving stuff away.... In this situation I would 100000% be behind Season 3 episode 1 starting with Din in a ship that looks suspicously like the Razor Crest, and when questioned on how it got repaired he answers "Repaired? What do you mean? The Crest was never destroyed..." and they say no more about it. - The Hound.
a other, tactcal, problem with the slave 1 is, the big after section, it must be easy to hit, other then the slim silouet of a millenium falcon. even the falcon is the "biger" ship.
Great reaction and THANK YOU for pointing out why the machine recognized Din's face! I had a hard time thinking the Empire would give out information on the location of one of its cruisers to just anyone, but if that's the case, no wonder why they lost. Can't wait till next Tuesday for the finale!!!
I thought maybe it was like the 'I am not a robot' CAPTCHA thingy... 'please click on all the pictures with traffic lights' 😂 Just need to prove you're a human. But also I don't have a huge amount of faith in the Empire's security systems. Din and Mayfeld had already got that far... Glad you enjoyed the reaction and thanks for your support! - The Dragon
Love the quote back at Gideon, but it also had a Taken feel to it 😁 I want Cara Dune to ask him what he’s going to do next and Din to reply “What I’m good at” 🤣
Not sure if you stuck around for the discussion after the reaction, but the comparison to Taken ‘I will find you and I will kill you’ was one of the first comments I made about it 😊 Mando’s holo message was one of my favourite moments of the whole series, gave me chills! - The Dragon
Yeah, we realise a little later on. He was also Joe Chill in the NolanVerse. Really prolific character actor, with some amazing roles under his belt. And we couldn’t remember a single one 😂. - The Hound.
@@TheDragonTheHound honestly I only realized it from watching a bunch of reaction vids to this episode when I finally pieced it together but figured it’d be another interesting GOT reference in the show. Keep up the great content can’t wait for your finale reaction
Great reaction, guys! I can't wait for you both to see the finale. (you probably already have by the time I write this comment). The Hound will absolutely lose his shit. You both will, to be fair. Tears will be shed (and not going to predict by whom.)
Right on two counts! We have already seen the finalè. And I UTTERLY LOSE MY SHIT. It’s glorious. I’m almost as excited for you guys to see our reaction, as I was to watch the episode! - The Hound.
Mayfeld wasn't concerned about the officer recognizing him, he was concerned that he was gonna blow the mission by killing him! My feeling is he's gonna end helping the rebels on that planet.
We’ve got a little poll going over on our twitter... Din’s shiny chrome beskar or Boba’s fresh new matte colours: whose armour looks better? Help us settle the debate! twitter.com/dragon_hound/status/1351883869637718016?s=21
This is another of my favorites of this season. I enjoyed Mayfeld’s arc throughout and showcasing that he does have a heart despite being a wisecracking smart ass. The only real issue I had with this episode is I thought Mayfeld would be a bit more hostile to Mando, due to their past. There would be more conflict. But oh well.
Yeah, I was surprised he didn’t take a swing at him, or something. But I guess they wanted a kinder Mayfeld from the start. Maybe he’s mellowed out, had some time to think while he works. Certainly seems like a more introspective guy, now. Glad you enjoyed the react, dude! - The Hound.
I think what we saw was an explanation of why Mayfeld was so hostile in the prison ship episode: he saw Mando as another asshole with guns and a Cause, like Valin Hess. I mean, he's obviously desensitized to the idea of killing people for survival, but he can no longer stomach people who kill people for beliefs. You'll notice he mellows a bit towards Mando when he changes to the stormtrooper armour, and then completely respects him after he takes his helmet off. He respects Mando for sacrificing his beliefs for a person; he kills Hess for sacrificing people to his beliefs.
Star Wars definitely does its share of violating the laws of physics, such as noise in space. With that said, since Boba's ship is a 'space' -ship, it does not need to be very aerodynamic. I think the Slave 1's weird shape and that it exists specifically within the Star Wars universe, is what makes it iconic.
my theory is he didn't recognize mayfield is because he was already half drunk, and the whole brown eyes thing(being full of shit) made it that much more tense
the reason boba repainted the armour was because the scratches where his stories that show his worth as a warrior, but since he lost his armour it got messed up way more, so he repainted it because he is honourable and would not wear other peoples stories
The officer made a good point, even though I have to admit he was a bad egg, you can’t have freedom without order because freedom without order is chaos. That’s just a fact and it’s been proven by hundreds of failed civilizations that have been destroyed by said chaos.
I suppose their is a measure of truth there. But the question becomes how MUCH control, and how do they exert it? It's possible to restrain chaos, without totally overbearing your people. - The Hound.
@@TheDragonTheHound True, that’s just my insight at least. The Empire wasn’t the best by any means but at least they had order right, they just abused the power of order way too much.
@@bobafett1313 and that’s so often how it happens. The problem is never any specific mode of governance... it’s always someone abusing that governance, for their own ends. - The Hound.
I noticed y'all talked and looked away rather often. While this is a criticism, I only said it because I want you to get the most enjoyment of these episodes. You missed out on a number of great one-liners. For the next episode, I hope you will consider what I said. Not for me, no, that would be utterly rude and disrespectful of me. I want you to get maximum enjoyment, whether im able to see your next video or not. I won't drop spoilers, so just trust me on this. (Edit: your videos are very enjoyable. Especially toward the end, when you watched Mando's message to Gideon. Young lady, your lower jaw had lead weights in it the whole time, and made me snicker.)
Tbh this was a personal annoyance for me too when editing the episode. We (me especially) waffles on a lot and I do miss a couple of things! We recorded this episode and the finale both on the same weekend when the finale episode came out so perhaps I was just hyped for the finale. The last episode is definitely a lot more lead weights in mouths and reactions so hopefully you stick with us for that 🙂 - The Dragon
Ik I’m a year late 😂 but don’t forget space ships don’t need to be extremely aerodynamic because they’re only in the air for a small amount of time, aerodynamics doesn’t matter in space.
The reason that commanding officer came off as "so creepy as fuck" to you is because you recognise him from somewhere else where he was Boss Level creepy. Yep, that's the original Night King from Game of Thrones (up until Season 5. They re-cast the role for Seasons 6-8 because he had scheduling issues with another show he was doing). So the obvious joke here is... The Night King and the Red Viper walk into a bar... ......and for some strange reason they just happen to have Bill Burr with them. .....and a honeycomb and a jackass. EDIT : Okay, it seems you found the info after the reaction, by yourselves. So don't mind my comment. The joke is on the house. Compliments of the chef and cooking staff.
When I met Richard Brake (still mad at myself for not recognising him sooner haha) he said that a lot of the reason that he left Game of Thrones was because he was fed up of having to put the prosthetic and make up on for hours every time the Night King had a scene. Makes sense. I much preferred him as the Night King though over Vladimir Furdik (NK seasons 6-8), think he was far scarier in the role! - The Dragon
And thanks for the joke 🙂 but where’s the punchline? Will we ever know that the honeycomb and jackass were for? I’ve seen a few attempts at finishing the joke online that are pretty decent - The Dragon
I am still waiting for the DVD releases..... whine .... LOL ... Lot's of glue fixes the ship..hahahaha.... Stupid looking ICONIC ship ...hahahahah.. that was funny.... A little paint does an armor good. :) Operation Cynder is a contingency plan if the Emperor ever dies... scorch earth policy, problem is.... if you were an imperial troop on the ground, you fry with the rest of the people.... nice... Creepy was the guy who shot Bruce Wayne's parents in the Chis Nolan version of Batman.... yep... he's creepy ..... Bill Burr who is not an actor... really did great in his acting!!!! He's a comic, and sometimes the comic does better drama than most. Seismic charges and the AWESOME > !!!! love the fact that you one of the few that caught that Mando used the exact same message. A lot of people got hung up on the words "he means more to me than you will ever know," but that too was Moff (Governor) Gideon's words. Nice slamming the glove across the face and on the ground.... the challenge has been spoken. WHAT... YOU met him... WOW.... that is awesome !!!! You got connections in the Empire... LOL ... Can I take that drink to go, pleassssse....
I think you might have had enough to drink, David 😛. But yeah, a little paint really worked for Boba, but more on that soon! Aaah, he was Joe Chill? Nice. Dude gets around. Always evil, though... People always really underrate comics/comedy actors, and then get surprised when they give great performances. It’s like when everyone gets shocked, because a metal singer who usually growls, can actually sing... one day, people will stop underestimating them! - The Hound.
Dragon here 🖐 I did meet Richard Brake, at a convention. He was really lovely! Perhaps that's why I couldn't place him when he was being Officer Creepy 😂 I have a picture of me with him somewhere but I've scoured and alas I cannot find it. - The Dragon
@@TheDragonTheHound ... does meeting Chuck Norris back in 1984 count (he was filming Invasion USA and they were using the Mall here in Miami for one of the action scenes) LOL Also the Late Jan Michael Vincent and from afar I was able to see Ernest Borgine - they were looking for stunt doubles for Airwolf.
