I love how many people think that Mace Windu is still alive. I think it is more wishful thinking than anything. For me, it would undermine the revelation of Darth Sidious' identity, not to mention his claim of "unlimited power", and the character choice that made Anakin into Darth Vader. They could undo these two points but I think it would only weaken the canon. That's the case I would make to the Star Wars brain trust if I was in the room with them. Not like they are immune to weakening their own canon though, good ol' sequel trilogy.

I’m really glad we got to find out Grogu’s backstory and how it’s basically the same situation Mando went through as a kid who was hidden while under attack then found by a Mandalorian that took him in and protected him whie helping him use his powers and abilities.

@@blueyes3117 Yes, Yoda was with the younglings when Obi-wan was looking for Kamino. But sadly, Yoda was off planet when order 66 hit. He only got back to the temple after Anakin slaughtered the younglings. So, he is unlikely to be the one that saved Baby Yoda unless he somhow survived the killing.

It could be someone who's not a Jedi, but I would think only Jedi Masters would have knowledge of Grogu. Maybe we'll see but if so it probably won't be this season

@@2apocalypsex It was intentionally altered. Shaak Ti is a play on the Indian/Hindu religion term Shakti. They intentionally slightly altered them, so she is Ahsoka, not Ashoka.

Well not older then the masters. He was born the same year as Anakin - who was the youngest person ever on the jedi council - but not granted the rank of master. He was a jedi knight. He was the same age an anakin when he killed all the younglings though

@@ICU1337 Yeah I've heard that too, although her story ended not too much later cuz Vader went after her and there wasn't a single hint at Grogu's existance (I know the character didn't even exist back then but they gotta make it make sense with the canon). I also heard it could've been Palpatine himself since Ahsoka said his memory got dark after Order 66 and Palps seemed to have plans regarding force sensitive children

And lets not get into their aiming issues lol. I feel like we're never going to learn the answer in the show. Maybe a book or something. But hopefully they will fill in these gaps for us during the show.

You can't expect an anatomical 5 year old to do everything. Also I think the "many" Jedi masters things was just a way for Ahsoka to talk about him being trained by his parents Yoda and Yaddle. Also, the Yoda species only pops up as Jedi, so I'd wager they only exist in the order.

Well, a saber is technically a type of sword, and despite how spiritual the Jedi/Sith are, lightsabers are weapons. They are contained lasers that can slice a body part within seconds, so yeah, weapon.

I think it was Yoda himself who saved Grogu. Think about it, he was one of the only ones in the movies that we saw escape order 66. So, he would've known about grogu, since he was one of the last of his kind. Yoda prob knew how strong the force was within him, so he wanted to keep him hidden so he won't be harmed.

Ok... I thought more about this because it was such a brilliant idea. Problem is they would have to retcon the fact that Han Solo was the first this method was used on. Remember them not being sure if he would survive the process? Because it was some industrial technology they rigged to freeze a person. This is why some were critical of the fact that Mando would utilize this technology in his ship during episode 1. The cannon way of explaining this is that word of Han’s survival spread amongst bounty hunters being such a high profile case, and the act of freezing in carbonate quickly spread being such a convenient way of transporting a catch. Maybe Grogu was under a different sort of suspended animation.

I want to see a flashback of Grogu being smuggled out of the Jedi Temple. What if he was in the room when Anakin came to kill all those younglings but one of the Padawans dropped Grogu down a laundry shoot something to save his life. Anakin wouldn't be able to follow him so he'd just moves on to sack more of the temple. It would be a heartbreaking scene.

*Still curious why Ahsoka just all-out attacked the Mandalorian ~ I know she's not a Jedi, but I can't see Yoda doing that, for example, as seen when Luke is searching for him on Dagobah ~ Or when Obi-Wan scolds Anakin on Coruscant: "Patience. Use the Force. Think. He went in there to hide, not to run." With the Force you can sense someone's intent, which is what both Yoda and Obi-Wan had used in that scenario - Vader uses such a technique with Luke in EBS and ROTJ ~*

The baby has good memory for a baby, he would've been tiny when Anikan was a little kid. I wonder if he would learn how to speak normally and the way Yoda does if different people trained him for longer? The parents might've purposely not chosen a Y name so when people talk about him they won't realise he is from the Yoda species so he can be a bit more inconspicuous? I think of Ahsoka and The Baby as almost having a spiritual connection, like a card reading and she could see the energy of his past life without him saying anything. I hope he says "Dada" and Mando keeps him, if he says one word we don't know the order of his words. :) Loved this episode. Thanks for the info and Easter Eggs. :)

I don't think there is a Force Choke "spell" to be taught, we have seen younglings manipulate, lift and move objects with the Force. The user is just using their hand to force-project a larger one to do what they want, which in this case is choke out someone. I imagine Jedi wouldn't normally use this technique cause they would find it barbaric, but anyone could do it. You could also use the force to depants someone... Which is probably why they wear robes and tunics, just in case!

@@papageorgegeo I didn't mean it like he learned it from a book. I mean he must have seen someone use it to know how to do it. There's a dark gap in Grogu's memory. I'm just saying there's clues to suggest someone tried to teach him the dark side of the force or at least influence his emotions into darkness. The producers are playing too much with the idea that he could be warped and influenced into the dark side. Why would they do that if they don't mean to pay it off in some way? I could be wrong, but it seems that's going to be a big part of his story line moving forward. Will he go dark? Will Mando be the reason he does? Will Mando be the reason he doesn't? I believe they are setting the table for that.

I like the idea of Zett Jukassa (the kid fighting the clones on the platform in front of Bail) finding Groku and ushering him into the hands of the fleeing Librarian before returning to fight the clones. I think an interesting back story can easily be found in that bit of clay.

@@JW-jd6sn lol he'd be dead for one. He was old when Obi Wan was still a boy. Obi Wan was old when Luke was a fledgling. Mace is still just human also he had a different connection with the force. From what we know from KotOR, you can cut off your connection to the force. This was also shown in a sense in Rebels and Clone Wars. There is more to the force than just Jedi and Sith.

The last scene in the final episode of Season 2 will be that of Mace Windue appearing out of the mist activating his light saber. Grogu has just been taken by Moth Gideon and Mando has been wounded and looking for allies to get him back.

I think that Anakin Skywalker took Grogu from the temple and hid him. I think that Anakin did this because he wanted to save Grogu, both from the massive carnage he caused and because Anakin wanted to have an “ace in the hole” in case the Emperor betrayed Anakin. I think that Grogu is Yaddle’s child. She had stepped down from the Jedi Council BEFORE Order 66, and I think this was because she wanted to care for Grogu and keep him safe.

My view is Yaddle and Yoda Forcebore Grogu as Yoda's replacement since Yoda knew his end was near. Grogu was being trained separate from other younglings due to the species he was. Therefore, I believe, he was mainly a padewan of Jocasta Nu who then secreted him away after Order 66. She then left him with a family knowing they could not stay together for safety. For me, there are too many possibilities of who may come for him on Tython to guess. I would think it has to be someone as strong in the Force as Grogu which is why Anakin fell to the Dark Side because he was not Yoda's padewan due to Yoda being aware of Grogu's existence.

I'm gonna go with, Mace....after falling out the window( I feel he survived, somehow) ..he knew the Temple would fall and headed back there(despite his injuries), and made sure he got Gogru out of there. I feel Yoda's race is more then likely on the verge of extinction and Mace knew this and tasked himself to help preserve the race.

She probably didn't mention Yaddle because I don't think the 2 characters ever actually met. Like you stated Yaddle disappeared after Phantom Menace started, but at that time Asohka is still a youngling.

It would be a cool way to tease that Mace Windu survived, saved Grogu & because he wouldn't of had new hands that quick he could have passed Grogu over to someone else to look after him & try to take him to a safe place. So all they'd have to do is have Mac's name mentioned as the one who saved Grogu & if anyone makes a Windu show, obviously it would start with that & so we don't have to see him in the Mandalorian or they could show him but not yet. I also thought how cool would it be if someone like Gidion says in a later episode I want the child & Mando says "his name is Grogu". It would be a funny twist as Mando has been calling him the child 👍

Force Unleashed was in development for a decade before it was released, so it's equally likely that they dropped the Yaddle reference back then instead of 'just before the Mando season 1'. As for who got Little G out of the Jedi temple, his memories got 'dark' after that which could mean that he was soon after captured by the Sith or the Empire and rushed into genetic testing / drainage of the wills. Obviously the Empire knew about him long before the Nikto or Mandy had their mitts on him. Just as likely he was 'rescued' by Darth Vader who would recognize the importance of the little green skin instead of letting order 66 prevail.

I’d like to imagine it was Jocasta Nu, because like you I knew she survived order 66 and would have been at the temple. I could imagine her scooping up baby yoda and taking off. Then ultimately hiding Grogu when she fought vader. (I think that’s what happened in the Soule Vader series). Either way, that is why Grogu was abandoned and alone.

I doubt Grogu was trained next to all of the younglings. The difference in aging would have been too great, not to mention that his species is so rare that they would have wanted to keep his presence under wraps. My guess is that Yoda, Yadle and a handful of other masters were aware of him, only to facilitate his continued training. Either Yadle herself or through the direction of another (fan service saving Mace from full impact if you like) got Grogu out the back door with all the confusion. As a matter of fact, an injured and barely recognizable Mace would have been ideal for the timing. Yadle did not want to keep all of her species in one place, so she saves a Jedi assumed to be already dead by the highest of the Sith to be the guardian of their youngest. Then Mace, who's life was shortened by the injuries of past battles, dies just before handing Grogu off to a transport (possibly to find Yadle).

Officailly, Yaddle died in combat BEFORE the Clone Wars. She was on a mission with Kenobi and his Padawan, Skywalker. She sacrificed herself by taking a bomb and force jump out of the effective kill range, when it exploded.

I think it will somehow involve hondo and maz kanata since the group are of the same species as his pirate gang. Remeber hondo had the arc with ashoka and the youngling during the clone wars. If a jedi escaped with grogu, went to the outer rim, there is a good chance he would have targeted them. Hondo would have seen monetary value in keeping grogu.

I like the Mace Windo saving Grogu scenario since it could pull in Boba Fett for some closure at some point. In addition, it may potentially explain why little G knows some rather dark side stuff like the Force-Choke since Mace likes to dabble in both sides of the Force. Therefore, we don't need to make the Child a ward of the Sith, just learning from the Jedi master. Then maybe something happened to Mace at some point - due to his lingering Force Lightning injuries or perhaps getting killed protecting the baby Yoda - and that left the kid on his own to survive on a planet full of frogs. Having 30+ years to survive & remain hidden is a long freakin' time, tho. Not sure how to explain all that.

Grogu has 50 years of training, much more then Ahsoka. He has much more ability and training. When she bowed her head to him as he leaves, it makes me wonder if he is a master, higher then her. Then the reason she can't train him is he is already trained. Could be that he simply wants to stay with his friend.
