@@chiquita683 Yeah, screw those """diverse""" species, screw the snake-y jedi, the galaxy must only be filled with twi'lek, humans, togrutas and wookies! Also, the planets should only look like Hoth, Tatooine and Corusant! I can't understand humanity sometimes, Yoda's master being a somewhat mysterious snake-like being is very interesting, but why do that when You can slap already existing species and archetypes, am I right?

I also thought a wookie Jedi training him makes the most sense, for a different reason: we know from grogu that their species takes a long time to mature, and that the adolescent padawan phase probably takes a long time as well, probably much longer than most species would be able to guide them through. While Wookiees don’t live quite as long, they do live several centuries and that would give Yoda a master that could be with him throughout his padawan years and maybe was still around by the time he became a master himself. A Wookiee would also be able to reach Yoda how to deal with outliving so many friends, which has to be incredibly difficult for long lived species. I know there are probably other long lived species, but I like the idea of a Wookiee being his master.

Actually it was said that Yoda picked Dagobah as that was a planet strong in the ways of the dark side and because of this Yoda could hide himself from the empire much easier. Although I suppose both could be true.

In "Kafka on the shore" by Haruki Murakami there's a character named "Nakata" which have a somewhat similar speech to N'kata and Yoda. I wonder if this is Murakami drawing on Star Wars, Star Wars drawing on Murakami or just some strange coincidence

I think Yoda got along well with the Wookies because both species live in trees. Yoda's feet and hands are the same, which leads me to believe that his species would have lived in trees, using both hands and feet for climbing, add that to both being long lived and he would have plenty of time to become good friends with Chewie.

I think that if we were to look at Grogu as a reference, it's probably likely that Yoda had multiple Masters. With the given maturity rate of his species, it may have taken him longer than most to become a fully fledged Jedi Knight. I think the part about him having a Wookie Jedi Master makes sense and would be really cool if that were the case.

I think you may be on to something. I'd like to add that due to the strength of the force in Yoda, he most definitely would have been brought close to the Grandmaster. Also, I would look closer to who might have had the same lightsaber techniques or ones he may have favored before creating his own variation, in this you may find answers to these questions.

he wasn't "grandmaster for 800 years"...that may be a fine point, but it's important. He was old, but nowhere do we find reference to Yoda being appointed Grandmaster at age 100 (or soon after)

Tbh i always assumed that Yoda was actually taught by the Force itself, but learned his blade workings from watching the creatures in nature fight for their own survival and adapting the attacks for focused strikes as well as the defensive side as well... And tbh I much prefer my own theory to the truth

They need to leave Yoda’s character alone. I'm fine with him showing up in movies about the High Rebublic but steer clear of stand alone films not to mention any origin story. Not just because Lucas wished it so but some things are meant to remain a mystery leaving intrigue and beauty to a magnificent character and storyline of the OT

I disagree with Yoda being strong in the force and wise. if he was, he would have accepted what Qui-Gon says in regards to the Sith returning and Anakin being the chosen one that the Jedi themselves prophesied bringing balance to the force. not to mention the Jedi were all but soldiers to the republic by the events of episode 1. while Yoda has centuries of experience, he lacks wisdom that the Grandmaster would need to lead the order and fight against the evils of the galaxy such as slavery in the outer rim like Tattoine

But was he though? Grogu is like 54 but he's essentially 2, what if Yoda was chronologically 100ish but biologically and mentally like 5? What if it's less literal than being X years old? That's my interpretation of what's seen in the movies and shows anyway.

Yoda, was around 100 years old or so, when he joined the jedi order. Became a "Master" in the Jedi order like super fast after joining because he was already trained in the ways of the light side of the force. This is from "Legend" starwars though. Not Cannon.

A Wookie Master makes since. We all remember how Yoda said that he had a good relationship with them. Now if you look in the lore Wookies are a honor based race. So when you earn the loyalty of one Wookie you get it from all. We know this because Han Solo saved Chewbacca’s life. So he pledged his live to Han until his death. So yea, a Wookie master makes sense

I think master yoda master was Yaddle the same that was killed by dooku this makes a lot of sense when you think about it. It makes seas base yaddle is as same species as yoda so yaddle would have plenty of time to train yoda given there kind is known to live for a long long time. You know, your video made me wonder: "he has been training new apprentices for nearly 800 years", and I'm asking: how differant was his teaching from centuries to centuries and how much it is a factor of the eventual downfall of the order ? 🤔I mean can you imagine physics or chemestry teachers being the same since the 13th century... we would be retarded.
