You all probably dont care at all but does anybody know a trick to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost the account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
The year is 20XX. Everyone plays the Ruy Lopez at Stockfish levels of perfection. Because of this, the winner of a match depends solely on starting colour. The Rock Paper Scissors metagame has evolved to ridiculous levels due to it being the only remaining factor to decide matches. Humanity has reached its pinnacle.
This video has aged super well for Melee, and fits into the new mindset a lot of people have been echoing: Melee is sick because there's so many different ways to play - and the 5 gods represent this spectrum well
Suggested this to Ludwig during the stream because I think this vid deserves some love. And he now loves Tal and likes that one music. Keep up the great work man.
In a way, Bobby Fischer is more similar to Armada than to Mang0. Both travelled over the their respective contrary continents (Which was way stronger than their own) and stood alone against an entire continent, ultimately prevailing and kicking everyones ass
This is beautiful. Playstyle really just arent talked about enough and in 1v1 games it defines so much. I too have been learning chess along side my fighting game journey and its opened my eyes to a lot of player interactions and ideas that work in both. To anyone playing either my best advice, Control the center.
It sucks to see such a high quality video not blow up and go super viral due to the tiny target audience (people who are both into melee and chess) but I think you’ve done a good enough job at creating the context and explaining the comparisons perfectly that I truly believe anyone can enjoy this vid. I also think it’s fun to think about how both games have entered seemingly brand new eras recently, and it might be cool to theorize what kind of comparisons can be made from top level modern players of both games
LMAO! That clip of Tal smiling after making his move and Bobby looking visibly annoyed is so iconic. Reminds me of M2k vs Mango way back in the day when Mango played puff
I would say that Carlsen as Zain makes a lot of sense. Also I think Vishy Anand as Plup works great too. Anand was known for his speed and being great at rapid and blitz which fits Plup's extremely fast technical style well.
This is fantastic. I don't really know much chess history outside of Bobby Fischer so listening to this mixed with melee knowledge and comparison is a love letter to my childhood
I love how I have very little knowledge of the melee scene, and how chess play styles work but found this video super entertaining. The way you explained things in both chess and for each player was super easy to digest. Great video man!
I just wanted to say that I appreciate all the love people are showing for this video! I love all of you guys. And yes my taste in music is impeccable, tell me more about it heh
I just thought of this video after watching it when it was new a couple years ago, rewatched it and was every bit as captivated as I was the first time. Thank you so much for making it.
P.S I think Isai is Capablanca or maybe Morphy. Both chess players played an important role in showing that sacrificing and simplifying -if you keep the initiative (attacking chances) - is very strong, in a time when this was not really appreciated. Isai and his C.Falcon was also a trailblazer, showcasing a level of play that no one could have really imagined. The rest of the world would catch up to his intuitive grasp of the game some years later. Isai's performances were really an early blueprint for the modern style of melee.
GOATED VIDEO DUDE, how have I never seen your channel before?? not sure if you're still reading comments 3 years on, but would you mind if I tried to get Coney to watch it as one of his melee essay movie nights? it's been a while since you made it but I think it would make a great main channel segment and maybe net you at _least_ a few hundred subs from those of us who are always starving for AsumSaus style content (in hopes you return to make more in the future)
Hello, and thank you! I'm not a Melee content creator, but I've been a long time player for a while. I'm glad you enjoyed! I read every single one of my comments still, so I'm happy that this video sorta picked up on everyone's algorythms all of a sudden haha. Definitely get Coney to watch it, I think he'll enjoy it as well.
@@DundiesTK well I'm ringing the bell anyway bro; you may have no plans for another banger like this one, but if you ever do get another Dundie Nuetron Brain Blast I gotta be there for it this was such a incredibly novel observation to make and you explored it with _just_ the right amount of depth and enthusiasm to be _properly_ nourishing to my smash-pilled, essay addicted audhd brain. seriously man, big ups, it's small creators like yourself, including the one-hits, that would inspire me to make my own essays if I had better self-discipline
absolutely superb video. breaking down both certain chess and melee interactions and relating them to each other was incredible to watch, even as a non chess player! also i highly approve of the use of danganronpa music, amazing ost :)
Underrated video, great analysis. Love the storylines and prowess in both games and you covered the ins and outs of both games without going too heavy on the jargon on either. Well done
When I first seen this I was like "please dont say Mango is the Magnus Carlsen of Chess". We definitely don't have someone that good in Melee lmao. Great video dude
@@ichthyostegaxd3727 Chess mastery isn't just measured by pure ranking. It's also measured by dominance. Right now many of the top players can beat Magnus. He is not considerably ahead of the pack. The best player in history would show not just a dominance in ranking but also among their peers. Kasparov, Karpov, Lasker, etc all have a better chance at being the best player in history because they fit that criteria much closer than Magnus. And Magnus agrees, "Kasparov had 20 years uninterrupted as the world number 1...He must be considered as the best in history. But I feel that time is on my side...I'm not 30 yet. If I were to be considered the best in history at 30, I would have had to start dominating at 10."
@@deegobooster That's just being the most dominant/successful player. You can say Kasparov, Fischer, Karpov and the likes were the most dominant of their time but nobody ever was as good at the game of chess as Magnus Carlsen. Therefore he's the best player in history.
As someone who doesn’t even know how to play chess, this video was beautifully presented and I could get most of it. It’s such a fun and interesting topic and I believe you did it justice.
I've only watched 7 minutes si far but i think this might be the best RU-vid video i've ever seen PS: my guess is that Mang0 is either Tal or Morphy Hyngrybox might be Karpov or Petrosian And for m2k and Armada i have no idea
i watch this video so much a top 3 video of all time such high effort and you can really tell love you dundies. (also who is the zain of chess i have to know)
Very good video hope to see more from you and to see you rise up in popularity. Edit: you need to work on your sound mixing. You are so Quiet and the music is so loud at some parts
