Have a 24+ yr garden in Metro Phx...I have over 600 plants & favor local & regional natives. Have featured a lot of uncommon plants over the yrs. I was part of Rare Fruit Growers Assoc for yrs here--and used to incorporate more mango trees (once had 7 trees)...I brought that done to one over the yrs (space is an issue !) but am now back up from 1 to 2. Miss having more mango's. I have watched many of Chris' terrific videos for ~10-12yrs. She imparts a wealth of knowledge & a definite passion for mangos & tropicals--no doubt !🤗Among the best videos I have enjoyed--of many !🤗👊Hope she continues to produce videos for yrs---ALWAYS give them an enthusiastic THUMBS UP !
@@nicholasmanns Actually, Turpentine is one of the sweetest mangos out of any mango. It was shown on the Brix scale to have more sugar than any other mango it was compared to in 2016. That said, some people don't like it because of all the strings, it's VERY stringy. But, it has very thick skin and doesn't bruise or go bad; in fact, if you squeeze the mango you can turn it into a "juice box" like the person said and drink all the syrup directly out of the mango, or squeeze it into a smoothie.. It has incredible flavor and is GREAT for smoothies. Easily in my top 10 favorite varieties.
My neighbor down the street used to have 2 big ones on her front yard, and every year, she said, "Help yourself." I didn't like it much due to little meat and too much fiber. BTW, my neighbor finally got rid of both trees.
