Naveed...How do you BEST holdover...or preserve your nearly fiberless mangos...so that they last the Longest ?
@TheNaveed787
@TheNaveed787 12 дней назад
@jeff6899 Can you please further explain your question? Are you asking how the fruit last longer on the tree? or off the tree? Or if I preserve the fruit to last multiple months?

Great video - very impressive wall of mangos 🥭💪🏽 I was wondering about planting a Glenn mango (3gal) near my wall that faces east and shields from west. Do you have the mangoes facing east?

The big falsa tree indicates that you have good microclimate / growing conditions I am in bayarea 9B and my falsa plant ( yeah it’s tiny) dies to ground level every year due to cold ( frost / freeze) and comeback as a small bush Hopefully more trees around will also provide some protection in future

Beautiful, healthy looking mangoes. What do you feed your trees in the pots?
@TheNaveed787
@TheNaveed787 19 дней назад
I feed Vigoro Avocado and Citrus granular fertilizer from home depot. The rating is 6-4-6. This is a low number fertilizer. I feed about every 2 months. Daily watering is most important. Thanks for watching.

what is your fertilizing “routine” for mahachanok, with what do you fertilize and when for a whole year?, and what about watering, I live in a very arid and hot climate, 42 Celsius to 49.

Very impressive collection - your mangos are much larger than mine at this point in the year. Are you located in Phoenix where it's a bit hotter than the suburbs? I assume you don't provide warmth for this many mangos in winter!
@TheNaveed787
@TheNaveed787 7 дней назад
@TouchGrassGardening Thank you. Yes, I am located in northwest Phoenix. Correct, I do not cover, nor do I provide any warmth for the mango trees. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Awesome garden. What are your 3 most productive varieties and that harvest well for you? Thanks for vids
@TheNaveed787
@TheNaveed787 12 дней назад
@damehinojosa334 Production varies between the trees every year based on a few factors. The most productive trees last year were Mahachanok, Malika, and Duncan. The most productive by nature are Duncan and Sweet Tart. When these become big trees, they will beat everyone else every year.

Impressive production on your potted mangoes! How frequently do you have to up pot into larger containers? How long can you keep them in 15-gallon pots?
@TheNaveed787
@TheNaveed787 19 дней назад
I do not gradually up pot. For example many people will up pot slowly from 3g to 7g to 15g to 25g and so on. I will also plant in the biggest pot available right away. I have planted 3g mango trees directly in 15g and 25g pots and they have done very good and still continue to do very well. In my experience you can keep a 3g tree in 15g pot for about 3 years max. After 3 years it would be good to up pot them to 25g to keep good growth rate and strong growth. Although the tree can live in 15g pot for many years. I have Keitt in 15g pot for 8 years. It grows super slow due to root bound. But it still produces 6 to 8 mangoes every year. If I was to put it in ground or 25g or higher gallon pot, it will start to grow faster and stronger because the root ball will start to grow and there will be more roots to supply more water and food to the tree.

@Naveed , I also notice in your video, that some varieties have more sun damaged then others. Is this due to location ( direct sun ) or did you notice some varieties are more susceptible to heat damage?
@TheNaveed787
@TheNaveed787 19 дней назад
To some extent what you saw is correct. Although all new mango growth can burn above 100F, I have notice that some varieties get more sun damage then others. For example, I have noticed/experienced that Sugar loaf, coconut cream, valcarrie new growth gets more sun damage than Kesar, Alphonso, Edward, Malika and Mahachanook. Mature leaves are less likely to get sun damage than new growth.
@joji6485
@joji6485 19 дней назад
This is exactly I was thinking that established varieties from India / Pak are more tolerant to heat than US/Florida varieties. It make sense as well since backhome it’s normal to have daily temp 100+ during growing season.
@marcuswelby921
@marcuswelby921 12 дней назад
@@TheNaveed787 I agree with you about Sugar loaf and coconut cream getting sun damage. After experiencing this i keep both in the sun for about 2-3 hours then they are placed in a shaded area(Florida).

My garden is ultra small. My house lot is only 7000 square feet. I have a two story big house and a pool and concrete from patio to pool. So you can see that there is almost no garden left. Most trees are planted along the east, south and west wall. I wish I had a bigger garden :)
