A great craftmanship and quality! I was personally at Minosaka 2023 in the summer and got introduced into the way of making these famous Iaitos. It was an amazing and interesting experience to see how these High Quality Swords were made. I ordered at that day my own customized Iaito and got it two months later. Everything worked fine with the shipping and when I finally held my Custom Iatio in my hands I was very touched and felt myself privilleged to be able to posses such an incredible beautiful work made in Gifu/Japan by such great people! so far people think the process of making swords is better the traditional way but it is very slow. better the modern and fast way, with the best quality steel and large production. the traditional way is no longer in fashion, because the country is already advanced. and the traditional way has begun to be abandoned. the quality of the factory and traditional are the same because they use the same steel. most people have misunderstood this manufacture, which is thought to be less good. in fact what is made in the factory actually uses a practical way, with existing iron.
Its fake swords for display, or training people before they use the real sword.. I don't say that katana couldn't be make using modern tool, but judging by this video its not good material for sword.. Of course it can sharpen, but it won't last long.. You require better material, good heat treat process etc to achieve good wear resistance in a sword or any edged weapon..
I am sure that making a traditional katana sword creates more value than custom-made steel sheets that emphasize quantity rather than meticulous craftsmanship. This type of sword was just a replica sword and the quality of the metal and its sharpness could not cut a tatami mat in one blow
Guys these are probably Aluminum blades. Iaido uses soft metal blades for practice since the blades rarely touch. These are also really good for beginners since they are cheaper and not sharp. No one is swinging razor sharp swords at each other.😂

Because these are cast steel swords (not forged) for practice. They would be too brittle to actually use as a real sword. Basically, molten metal is poured into a mold in the rough shape of a sword. So it is inferior to a forged sword. Nevetheless, it retains all the other characteristics desired in a sword except strength.
@@Glockenstein0869these are iaito (practice swords for iaido) they are made of aluminum and zinc alloy that cannot be sharpened. There is no such thing as a cast steel sword.

You can find the details online. I just ordered my first iaito after taking some time to learn about it. Tozando offers a estimate of the blade and handle sword according to your body. Also most custom iaito and katanas offer many options for length, bohi, finish etc
